I just bought a SX 45. In my opnion it is a interesting thing but too bulky and the obligate use of headphone for calls is unaccepted. I have even problems whith the GPRS which doesnt work in spite my model comes with GPRS modul. I mailed a couple of time to Siemens but never got a answer, bad! There are better alternatives that the SX 45. The processor is rather slow too.

Here's the deal: this is a pda first, and a phone second. It's large and heavier than any phone. It's got great audio, an excellent screen, and is rugged enough to survive an encounter with the ground. It's got CF and MMC, so you can plug memory, WLAN, cameras and so on into it. If you grab one, go to http://my-siemens.com/sx45 and grab the 2.2 update and all the other goodies, so that you get CF and MMC working together, you can access your SIM card memory, and so you get SMS messages with names. I bought it 'cause it was the only pda phone with CF, so I can access a wireless network across the sites I work at, without carrying a separate PDA - and it's fine at doing that. The Good: sounds great, has CF I/II and MMC, great screen. Bad: Big unit, you must use the handsfree headphones to operate the phone, older processor.
