Just bought XP3 for my husband. He is maintenance manger on a farm. Killed 3 SE in the last 18 months (last one dropped in water). It true that is does not have all the fancy features, is built like a brick and weighs a ton, but.... won't have to buy a new phone every 6 months - makes the price not to bad. Can do cool party tricks. But seriously this is a great phone for people who work outdoors and in wet and dirty enviroments.
If you want a phone that will last - this is it.

> In reply to phonehouse worker @ 2009-02-21 22:50 from mvu}Yes you can, if it fits within the 10MB memory of the phone.

Of course you can set it to vibrate only:Choose the"meeting"at the quick settings menus-only vibration,no ringing.

BUT if you choose the"silent"mode-something that you can do by keeping pressed the # button on the keyboard, without entering any menu...surprise:the phone becomes dead silent...no ringing,no vibration.

This may seem petty, but can you set it to vibrate and does it have an alarm? I've only seen ringing mentioned on the website and I need my phone to be quiet on several occasions.

> In reply to Karl @ 2009-02-19 13:55 from nxmcInteresting this is supposed to be the XP3 Enduro column but people are talking about the LM801 lol

So far my experience of the LM801 is it seems a tough no nonsense phone. Easy enough to navigate round the menu and has a good battery life. If you are after a tough phone and the feature set fits the bill this is worth a look.

> In reply to Karl @ 2009-01-05 12:36 from 0F3MRegarding the condurro phone,I did get my money back, but they were reluctant to honor their unconditional warranty until that is I got my local Citizens Advice Bureau on the case, but the phone is really awful to use and feels very antiquated, the phone reminders are limited to short words only and you only get three,it has really bad ring tones that sound like cheesy porn tunes, they keys aren't very tactile and the navigation key is stiff and hard to use, this could be a good phone, but it seriously needs a rethink and some more development time.

Can anybody tell me what the PC Sync does. I am interested in how I keep my names and numbers up to date. Have I got to do it all on the phone or can I do it on a PC and transfer to phone ?

I have it for a months now and use it in the field. No change regarding battery. This one in bigger and tougher. The pc-tools can be improved a lot.
I can operate it wearing gloves. The messeging needs improvement and the flashlight is a good addition. If it had a compass or a way to have a gps it would be the ultimate tool. So far, it worth the money.

Yes but you haven't said about the battery performance.. How good is it? According to the review of XP1 here the battery is good but in your experience how about the XP3?

It is 1180mAh,Xp1's battery was 110mah,so the difference is not that much.Menus are also EXACTLY the same as XP1's-so texting has not improved at all,unfortunately-BUT XP3's keyboard are MUCH,MUCH more faster and responsive than XP1's.

Do note that XP3 is a LARGE telephone, somewhat bulkier than a Nokia 3310,and quite heavy, although personally i don't mind.An improvement in the menus arrangement and more logical texting-that is,Nokia style menus and texting-and this WEAPON WILL RULE,INDEFINITELY.

And for those who are wondering:YES,i own both XP1 and XP3 so my comments are not a guess..
