Ok, the moment of truth has finally arrived.
I got the C902, since I have been waiting for it for a while now and here are my final comments for you guys (what you do with them is up to you, I will not be held responsible =):
Pros:
- The design is just amazing and you can completely feel the quality in every part of the phone. Well done SE! (NB: the difference between the prototype and final version is huge)
- The camera (in my opinion) is great. I really like the touch sensitive buttons. They are very user friendly and it makes you realise the Cybershot power. Also, I took a picture in complete dark (in portrait mode) and the picture was astonishingly good (it won't equal my 5M Canon Powershot G5 but for a 10mm slim phone, WOW)
- the unique slide open lens adds a lot to this charismatic phone. Great touch!
- the screen is very bright and quick to access menus (I never used a bigger screen than 2" so for me it's good enough)
Cons:
- As a candy bar phone you may want to eat it :)
- It can take some time to get used to the keys
- the flash cannot be activated manually (it only fires when the light is low)
Overall, this is an excellent phone. I give it 5 stars and I highly recommend it, especially if you want to stand out with one of the most stylish phones on the market.

> In reply to mdz @ 2008-06-18 12:35 from upq$ - click to read529??? Look around more! I have seen it for less than 500 USD!
Couple of more week and it will be 400 USD.
SE so nice that the red cost much more than the black - almost 100 USD difference!!!!
Yes, SE is famous for its fair pricing policies.

> In reply to Anonymous @ from HHHH - click to readQuick question for you:
Do you like phones (in general) or just hate everything about them? You don't recommend phones and when we try to find out which phone you own you never answer...
I guess I am just curious, but don't feel like you have to reply to me.
Folks, I am getting my C902 in 2 hours :) They are going to be long hours but definitely worthwhile!!!

That is fine!
If you do not mind the small screen (for the money) that is fine. The camera is not so great but may be for you it is ok. Check it out!
In the US the C902 is about 600USD - I find that way to expensive on this market.
If you like it (after some checking)- buy it! Good luck!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-06-17 14:25 from mstL - click to readSorry I disagree with you. I currently own K750 and according to the specs on this website the screen is bigger on C902 compared to K750 (so thats a plus for me).
I don't want the G900, I looked at that first and then I saw C902. I don't want touchscreen (as once you lose that little pointer you're screwed). Plus if you read the previews the G900 you have to use that touchscreen to do everything, it will take ages to make a call or do simple things. Plus the camera is not protected, where as C902 it has the slide open cover.
G900 is not out in the UK but I gurantee it will be more than £250 because of this fancy touchscreen.
On the plus for the G900 I give it the looks over the C902.
I took a look at videos of C902 on internet, face recognition looks great. So I will be getting the C902 unless I find some major flaw with it when I take a look at it over the weekend.

> In reply to Anonymous @ from HHHH - click to readI do not suggest the G900 - it is total failure!
But, the pricing of C902 just ridiculous.
Not to mention the 2˝screen, lack of Wifi etc. for 600 USD!!!!!!

This phone has just got out and already problems with it!!!!!
(I told you so! :(
But, even I astonished although I though SE could never surprise me (again).
I just can not comprehend SE pricing policy.
C902 for 600 USD!!!! ???
That is got to be a joke!
The G900 just came out for 550 USD. Current price is around 450 USD. Price dropped suddenly and keep coming down.
The unit has some problems and it does not live up to the expectations - like most recently released models.
The fact that the C902 is about 30% more expensive than the G900 is just do not make sense!!!!
The G900 has:
- a 2.4˝ screen (~45% larger than c902!!!!)
- touchscreen
- more advanced software
- Wifi
SEs greediness the only explanation for me - SE tries to take advantage of uninformed customers until they can.
Probably, the price will drop significantly.
I would not be surpriced if in 6 weeks the price will be around 350 USD.
The phone got nothing special to offer - the screen is too small for anything but to make phone call. The camera is lousy.
Today´s market a slim phone without special features worth about 200-300 USD.

I have a n73 now so please don't take my comments as assumptions. The camera in the N73 is NOT good. Firstly, the camera takes six (SIX!) seconds to start up. (I have the latest firmware btw...) The pictures that come out tend to look artificial.(although i have to admit, they look good sometimes too) This is a hassle because I oftenly use my N73 to take pictures of specimens under the microscope, and because of this "color enhancement" the specimens look different...
I'm getting this one as soon as the price drops to acceptable levels. I hope this phone won't disappoint me as my current nokia N73 does...

Why not buy a lens protective sheet for the screen? I use one on my K850I and it works a treat....
