I also thought I upgraded my phone too, as I had similar problems of flickering, an occassional freeze and alarm clock not going off in the recurrent mode, but none of the other problems some "users" here mentioned, ie phone calls cut off. Then I discovered I didn't upgraded it at all.
After another attempt - 3 weeks ago - it actually took 30 mins plus to upgrade it. All above problems were solved and the phone are now running as smooth as baby's butt. It did, however, froze once.
For such a small slim phone, it serves all I need: 5mp camera; good features and above all, small and slim.
I would definately recommend this phone.
carlo claveria, 11 Dec 2008then try updating it again. mine has the latest software version but still upgrade it.. aft... morei upgraded it about 5 times and nothing happened. still some flickering issue, minor but sometimes irritating. Sad to say SE failed me this time.
Anonymous, 12 Dec 2008Hi guys. Got the C902 this week, and I've got a slight bug or something: the blue led on the u... moreThis is just the beginning :)))
After so many advice, warning etc. you still got this phone - you deserve it!!!!
Definitely not worth!
Too many problems.
There are much better phones on the market in the same price range or little more or less.
If you must have an SE (just to show -I am not totally against SE phones :)
get the W902 - a recent phone.
It is much much better and reliable - it is overpriced but it works.
Or wait until Jan. or Feb. many phone prices will drop significantly - SE, HTC, Nokia (5800) etc.
Hi guys. Got the C902 this week, and I've got a slight bug or something: the blue led on the upper right hand side (the led of the camera mode) beside the screen is on for hours, even if I don't have the camera open...
It glows up, unglows, glows up again... for hours. It is something cyclic. Any explanations? Got the (Spanish) Vodafone version, the firmware is up to date /just checked yesterday)... I'm planning to go to a Vodafone distributor and change it for another C902...
It is not annoying, but makes me think the phone is faulty from factory. Thanks in advance.
c902 with TV feature..
does anyone know the groups feature in contact?
it can only store 15 contacts..
does anyone know how to put more than 15 contacts in one group?
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970i'll go for w902..
it's stylish and on the groove..
comes with an 8gb memory card..
i have c902 here.. and its a lot cheaper than w902..
and i'm satisfied on it..
here on philippines,
c902 - 17,000+ pesos
w902 - 25,000+ pesos
its like w902 is 150 US$ more expensive than c902..
but if you have money, go for w902..
I'm about to choose the phone for my upgrade choice, must say I've got a k700i and a K800i and I'm expecting even better quality on this one, unless someonecan really really say genuinly no. All phones will have hickups etc. it comes withthe territory lol
anyway if there is someone that can give good comments about SE it's definately me!

Zushikikato, 11 Dec 2008Hey guyz! This phone really has lot of bad reviews! Really don't know why.. Probably they don'... moreyeah.. i agree with you. i don't like this phone before, but after upgrading the software, i don't have any problems at all..
just lacking xenon flash at night.. hehe..
16gb? yes.. theoritically.. even 32gb is ok for c902.. but SE recommends only 8gb to avoid hanging and freezes..
i'm using 8gb m2 right now, and have not having problems at all..
8gb is too much for me..
Hey guyz! This phone really has lot of bad reviews! Really don't know why.. Probably they don't own the phone.. I never expected before that I will be this satisfied with this phone.. I was one of the skeptics before I bought this phone (Although I bought it when SE released it.. ;))
One thing I can suggest for those who are giving bad comments about this phone;
For the phone owners, try upgrading firmware version..
For those who don't own the phone try using one first..
I would like to ask "AndyCPW" if you are really using 16GB because I'm planning to purchase one myself... I emailed SE but they told that they can only recommend 8GB.. But why settle for less right? :p
I have the C902 Vodafone version. Can i use the normal Sony Ericsson Update Service from the Sony website to update this phone or di i need to get vodafone updates?

Hi people just got a brand new c902 ( got it on 5/12/08 )from vodafone and was excited to get it that is until i started using it, What is the deal with this phone going on to standy all time its a new phone it shouldnt do that also when u text on it it freezes all the time whats that all about and on calls you can talk away and not realise that it has cut you off for like 20 seconds and then your call comes back on ( weird ) , also freezes when you go onto menus and stuff grrrrrrrrrrr . so upset contacted vodafone they said they knew about these issues and so did sont ericsson and that i was to contact them to get it fixed , i went hello dont think so its a brand new phone why should i have to get it fixed more to point why didnt you tell me this before i ordered the stupid thing . Anyway just read some of reviews about it on here seems all the c902's have these faults . Me thinks so need there bums kicked and they should do a mass recall of these phones now , told vodafone come get it i want a different phone now and by way of apology they are giving me the c905 phone and 2 months free line rental go vodafone tahnk you mwah xxxx
iks, 05 Dec 2008yes.. but if you want the light to be a torch you must activate it in video mode, but in w902 ... moreThanks for the advice for finding the torchlight on the c902. It is there. Do you think it is possible to create a shortcut to it?
