Samsung Techwin and Samsung Electro-Mechanic, two of the Samsung Electronic subsidiaries, have already developed 8 megapixel camera modules with 3x optical zoom.
The module has an autofocus performance improved by 57%, a 1/2.5 inch CMOS sensor and lens that support F2.85.
A Samsung Electro-Mechanic official unveiled that the first handset to come with 8 megapixel and 3x optical zoom will be released in early 2009.
Even more, Samsung manufacture is also working on a 12 megapixel camera module that will be smaller than the 8 megapixel one.

I'm going to wait for a month or so too. Like you I'm not too keen on SE phones at the moment (i'm on my 7th K800i in 18mths).
There are a lot of new phones around at the moment and once they hit the streets the C905 should get a bit cheaper, well hopefully!! I might even move networks to get a better deal, but you'd think they'd try harder to keep you in the current climate.....

I refuse to go 18 months especially given the hassles I've had with the K850. I think my only option now is to hold off for a month or so and see how people get on with the c905 and hope the price comes down.

I'm on a £30 a month contract too and past the renewal point (in month 19 of an 18 month contract).
My price for 18 month contract/upgrade is £50.
My price for a 12 month contract /upgrade is £110!!
To put it in perspective the N95 has prices of £120 and £180 for 18mth/12mth contracts.
Pretty sure I want the N85, but going to wait and see how it all works out. Good luck
i have this phone as of today and its brill.

have a look at the vodafone website, the upgrade prices are a bit cheaper on there. In the local shop I'm quoted £170 for the N95 and online its £120.
I've had so much hassle with the k800i that the C905 isn't the automatic decision that upgrading from a K750i was.
I'm going to wait for the N85 to hit the streets before I make a final decision.....
