Sony Ericsson G502 - user opinions and reviews

Sony Ericsson

G502 is a good looking phone...very light, but the Battery is horrible…I have been using it for the last 2 weeks…the battery does not last for one complete day. Camera is ok not very good!! Because of absence of flash cannot click in low light or in night.

Pros:
> Excellent display.
> Excellent 2MP camera.
> Excellent connectivity, GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA (3G).
> Good interface speed.
> Fast camera.
> QVGA (240x320 pixel) video recording.
> High quality plastic.
> Decent keypad.
> Typical SE sound clearity.
> Based on latest SE Java platform (8), thus supports latest applications and meet Java standardisation.
> Supports online payment transactions through web, supports security and encryprion.
> Good battery backup.
> Supports larger sized (more than 1 MB) java files.
> Solid construction no creeks.
> Value for money.

Cons:
> Audio from external speaker is average but crystal clear.
> Keypad buttons situated closely, takes little time to get used to.
> Common port to connect charger/heaphone/data cable.
> Headphone supplied by SE is average, not very loud.
> No video call camera.
> No flash & auto focus.

Toughest competition comes from Nokia 3120 classic, which is also very competent phone. One major limitation with Nokia is that it doesn't support java file above 1 MB.

Choice is up to buyer what he/she likes, i recommend G502.

Bought this phone after my Nokia 6233.
The battery life, display looks good.
The features and ease of use is not comparable to Nokia.
I would grade it as B

> In reply to Arun @ 2008-09-05 11:02 from p$KxIf U are using the location service, it just uses a streaming data from google. Google try to determine our current position, the it will be shown in the map. But the truth, Google always wrong to determine my current pos.. If G502 does have a-gps inside, this phone will be expensive. G502 does not have a-gps nor gps
