My Review - Part II

Poeple comment on the keypad layout andthe wave shape buttons - some like them and some dont. But I am a not fussy user. They dont look bad (in fact they look good compared to other SonyEricsson phones nowadays). Moreover, the layout is something one gets used to as the phone is frequently used. It doesnt the job well, thats all is what matters.

The phone is compared to SEM k660i, I was tempted for the SEM k660i, but why go for a phone who has the front camera virtually redundant. I won't video call poeple even when the 3G spectrum goes live in India. So why pay for something that is useless?

Overall if you do not want to invest in the high tech device and want all the features of some high end phones then this device is for you.

Cheers again!

> In reply to Gaurav Satle @ 2008-08-31 13:17 from ijyeYou have said that the web sucks or in a proper way, doesn't look good because it's too slow. You also said that 3G is not yet available in India. Well I think, that would explain why the web browser of se G502 doesn't work good for you. Also, many people compliment this phone for having a superb web browser.......

Sony ericsson G502 is intended for generation web not for taking pictures or recording videos too...
Samsung G600 is the best for you with the closest price range with se G502.
If your top priority is camera and fm, G600 is the right phone for you BUT
sony ericsson G502 still outstands samsung G600 in web capabilities. Take note that samsung G600 is only 2.5g while se G502 is HSDPA, 3.6Mbps...

I purchased this phone within days it was launched in India and have been usign this for for more than a month and this time is sufficent for me draw conclusions and review it.

First impressions first. It looks good, is very slim, extremely light, very colourful display and themes, the camera pictures have nice saturation and colours, smart walkman software, higher resolution in the same screen size segment. and most imporatnatly, being an internet phone, its HSDPA (speed upto 3.6Mbps) Compatible - when 3G is launched in India that is.

But this is something people can read and see.
Here is what I have found amongst what is not mentioned.
1. I am a slightly disappointed with the sound. Even tough I was not expecting a sound quality of a walkman earphone, the clarity and volumes still need something to be desired. Same is the case with the volume of the speaker, the speaker hidden beneath the back cover, so the sound is a bit suppressed. One cant expect super quality for all frequencies of sound. This phone doesnt sound like a Sony Ericsson but a Nokia with a bit low volume.

2. Review says that this phone has an improved browser. Guys that is to fool you. Its supposed to be a young generation HSDPA compatible Internet-phone. but that browser is of no use at all. Although the normal interface is improved, but still the speed with it pulls up webpages is pain-staking. The run around - install the Opera Mini and get crusing speeds and amazing interface! Thanks to Opera.

The ones who are looking for an internet experience on the phone can invest more and go for a larger screen, for better visibility. I am falirly satisfied screen size I have got for this amount.

3. The clour saturation is amazing - It has an advanced camera software provideing shooting in different modes, 2MP camera, so one gets a few clear images. Whats striking is the colours from the camera - especailly the red, brown, orange hues come out beautifully!

Overall, this is not the one for the ones looking after music (go for a better walky phone) but the ones who are looking for all the decent features at a good enough price. Its more made for the poeple who wont keep chnaging there phones every now and then. I have taken the phone, investing in the HSDPA feature for the future. I hope as the 3G spectrum goes live in India, my subscriber will be able to provide a broadband speed internet on my PC.
Overall a thumbs up to this phone.

Cheers!
