Phone memory is too less (only 200 entries). More over it's a long way to access phone nos saved in sim card. and not possible to access them (sim nos.)during the call. System of call history is also not very friendly. Repeated entries erase the one you require because only 30 calls (incl. received and missed) are available. But overall other features are good for this price.
good one . radio is good.battery is average.supporting slow.key pad not good.
how is fm sterio voice in head phone .
please send me my e-mail id .
3 dats later i buy it.
overall fairly good, though keypads not too good.Battery life about 3 to 4 hours talktime. Phone response is a bit slow, eg when disconnecting a call. Radio sound quality is very good compared to the low priced models of Nokia and Motorola. Good value for money at INR1600/-
I've used this phone for 2 weeks now. Here is what I think:
- The battery is amazing! I've only had to charge it once, it has been running for 14 days. My daily usage is about one to three 1-2 mins calls and about 5 sms'es.
- The middle buttons shortcuts have served me well; sms, phonebook and alarm. It's basically the only thing I use so the only time I've to enter the menu is when Im switching to silent.
- The phone is small, light, rugged and good looking for its prize.
- It's prize is so low it's almost funny.
- You can't change to custom ringtones (not that Im aware of).
- You can only store 50 sms and 200 contacts
- I do have to save all phone numbers with country code so that I can see who the sender is in sms'es.
This phone is suited for those that are willing to sacrifice features in turn for simplicity and endurance. All in all I'm super happy with this phone, the only real downside for me is not being able to have custom ringtones (but meh, I'll prolly just switch to vibration anyway). Though the battery did last for 14 days (first charge) I'd be more than happy with just 7 days (wich I think is the norm for this phone). I tried the FM radio thingy and it worked cool, but blahh, radio sucks anyway -_-
For those of you who are looking at long battery life, this is it.
Another plus point is that the radio is really not bad at all, in terms of reception. Sound is ok, normal, not too bassy, not too high pitch.
The ring tone is loud, if you set it to the highest available option. 4 options only, silent, discreet, normal and loud.
One thing though, it does not have a calender function, even though you can make reminders.
It is a basic phone, no frills and it serves to its best ability as a phone, so do not expect perks like GPRS, GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, or even MP3.
And I liken my J120 to Darth Vader. Loud, black and very reliable.
Can i use ringtone which i get frm sms??
if yes pls explain how can i change my ringtone to customized one
preloded ring tones are boaring :(
Seems no one answered my question posted yesterday.
My dealer didn't have J120 but i bought J110 today wich is almost the same (it's even cheaper but no radio).
Don't expect much from it, but for a cheap phone it's great. To sum up the pros and the cons:
-the keyboart is not brillian but OK; except the softkeys wich suck, they're hard to press and easy to miss.
-i don't like the moving icons in the menu, it makes it too slow and i get annoyed (lucky it doesn't have a lot of options to scroll through);
-the preset keys come in handy;
-no clock in the stand-by screen, this really sucks;
-alarm, ringing and conversation volumes are OK.
All in all, good phone for 35 euros :P Maby j120 is a little bit more expensive.
Hello. I'd like to ask j120 owners some questions:
- how's the volume durring calls?
- how's the ring volume?
- what's the texting like?
Please answer these questions; I'm looking for a ordinary phone that has good autonomy.
Thanks in advance!
vishal, 04 Jun 2008how to change the themes in my j120i.....can any one help me??i think vishal it is better for you that it phone in no change
Sony Ericsson j120i is nice phone and this phone is simple attractive and very sexy model and this phone colour is verry best night black and purple black so i was purchased past week it is so good i like sony ericsson company and it is my favourite company
i just bought this phone today and i have to say i'm pleasantly surprised by its sound and battery life - and yes, i can tell even in these few hours i've had it...(other phones usually die during this first day, when you're trying out everything that phone has to offer..:) )
..my intention was to buy the cheapest thing i can find, since i already have another cell.. and i bought this one cause i wanted to use this other network that is cheaper than the one i've been using.. and i actually got even more than i expected from a cell so cheap...i just needed something that can send SMS and make calls...and now i can also listen to the radio - cool...:)
Writing sms's is really slow as the phone doesn't keep up with my speed. The games are good, but FM on the included hands-free is too quiet to listen outdoors.
i've listen radio over 35 hours seriously. it's not the best phone ever, but it gives you what a phone is suposed to give. if you want just a simple, small, long range battery and functional PHONE it can be an option. i don't regred buying this phone. the radio it's very useful.
this phone is a very bad phone.its fm is good.but loud speaker is very bad.don't buy this phone.
Its the best fone i ever seen at this price level.Talktime is about 10 hrs.And FM listening time is about 15 hrs.Radio Sound quality is better than nokia NSERIES.Hardcore built. And a nice looking fone. Those are fools who say this fone is bad. This is damn good fone.
Hi guys I bought this phone 3 weeks back, this is first time I am using SY phones, it is very economical FM radio phone for just 1800 INR in Bangalore. These are few pros and cons about the phone which I came across while using it.
FM radio is very good,
Ring tone is pretty loud,
Usability is good,
Very Bright and display.
Excellent Talk time, battery backup.
Keypad is bit hard,
Limited phone book,
No option to access simultaneous phone memory and simcard directly like nokia phones
Hissing sound when use loudspeaker during calls,
Loudspeaker crackles while playing FM radio in loudspeaker mode.
Reception could have been better in indoors.
Display could have bit bigger similar to nokia 1650.
Earpiece sound quality could have better.
Overall Good FM radio phone for this price, with small updates this could be the good phone in this segment, which should make this phone a good buy.
Great inexpensive entry-level phone! The FM radio is surprisingly good, a lot better than those found on current Nokias. I just wish they put in an AM tuner as well and the ability to listen to the radio without the need for the headset attachment. The lack of a camera was also a big plus for me. Mobile cameras are generally pathetic compared to dedicated digital cameras and a waste of real estate on a mobile.
