This is the worst phone i have ever seen.Let me list out all problems chronologically
1.Phone started hanging within days of purchase.dealer says to remove battery and put it back
2.Features are too few-no mms,limited memory(especially a pain with ringtones),very few themes,wallpapers available for this set,battery life is the worst of any phone.
Also when u try to assign personal ringtones,the phone does not allow u to choose from stored numbers...u have to remember the number and enter it manually.
Does not display to which number u are sending an sms(unlike T230).
The keys do not respond or have very late response
3.Starts hanging in ANY application in 3 months.
4.The worst thing has happened now abou 6 months after purchase....The screen distorts continuously,if switched off and switched on again,a dark blue screen is displayed and nothing can be seen.This blue screen appears and disappears as it wishes.
The Service Centre says it will be fixed free of cost,but the part(i think it might be the board itself) is unavailable in the city....and i live in a metropolitan city with 4 Service Centres.
Very Crappy phone!utter waste of money

i think u all have goon mad about j200i cuz this phone is exellent but batterry is really bad qaulity.and this phone is only for children upto 10 to 12 age people and i think it is only for kids and its speaker is unbliveable and its just hiting ur ass. so plz if u wanna but this ,dont buy and but the new one model j 300i or j210.KEEP IT UP SONY ERICCSON!!!!!!!!!!

Its beautiful phone with really good ringtones..any ringtone would sound better on this one than on any expensive one. One draw back ..doesn't have in-built modem to use GPRS with computer only handset browsing is supported...
Good games and user friendly features sharp color..buy it if u want to love it. ..

Plz u dont buy it. standby time is min 1 days and max 1.5 days and talk time is max 20 to 30 minutes. this is not a speaker phone.

So can i buy it or not??? need to knew how long(The Real response!!!) the battery lasts for. talking and stand by time, i don't want to know after 3, 5 or 15 mins it heats up, just a simple plan explaination. oh and does this have speaker phone. i have a billion things to ask (over-reacting). i have questions for your answers not the other way around. And can you change the battery?

it's alright for people who are getting their first phone but otherwise isn't very good. the battery doesn't last very long and the features are limited not to mention the poor memory. although it has great speakers with kick-ass sound and good graphics and colour. but my infrared port keeps stuffing up, i would reccomend this phone to kids who are getting their first cheap, affordable phone.

well...i bought this set its kool ... light weight but its memory is too low... but it volume is really vry kool...n its soo cheap here in pakisan i jus wanna say thanks yo sony ericsson !!!!

This is for J200i.
Please don't buy this phone, even for free. It's pathetic.
It went for repair for 2 times in a span of 1 month, once for "Auto restart and networking problem" and second time for "No display".
Also Very low battery.

Its a bad phone. It shuts down by itself, it hangs, the charging status appears continously even when not charging and the ringtone clarity eventually becomes very poor at louder volume levels. It is recommended to avoid purchasing of this handset.

Well i bought sony erricson j 2001 in july. But i am sorry to say that this phone is not that good.well its slow , hangs some times ,its memory is to low and can carry limited number of tones. i am thinking to buy k300 or t610.i request not to buy this phone.

well i've purchased my new Sony Ericsson J200i and its not bad at all...i mean its worth every cent...its a real cool phone...and the battery is awesome...it needs recharging every 3 days or so which is enough for most of the people i guess...but the chum ahead of me might have been playing with the polyphonic ring tunes during all those 6 hrs...so the battery might required recharging that early...i think this phone is awesome and i simply love it...and its a perfect phone i think...so if anybody wanna buy something awesome...i would suggest that you can pick this phone as a good choice very safely and it won't disappoint you at all:)

this phone has so many features i just dont know where to begin??? um how bout the awesome navigating joystick its so 2005. the different colours on the screen are like a rainbow. this phone is for the typical business person who needs a high tech well mastered phone. YOU ROCK J200i !!!!!

it was a real mistake to purchase j200i,since the battery of the handset is very weak .it does not last even for few hours and needs constant recharging,and the back up power is also very low.apart from some of the cool features of the handset,its of no use to those who are busy with their mobiles

Got this J200i for around 1 month only, and sell it in 2nd hand market for 25% less than the original price. Price here right now around US$ 75 (no plan, I'm in Indonesia). J200i is very elegant built, nice color, and nice sounds. But all of that great stuff cannot hinder its main setback, usability and battery life!. Usability is sucks, keypad just too small, only fit for children/teenager. Keypad also not responsive, very slow compared to Nxxxx button responsiveness. Screen quality is ok, but text too small. SE should work better in font size to increase usability of this product. Battery life is the main drawback of J200i. For standby, it just can stand within 2 days or less. For average user, after 10-15 minutes of talk time, battery only remains half from fully charged state. At first I think there is something wrong with the battery, and I bring my phone to the authorized service center. They immediately inform that battery life is the weak point of J200i and when I said that mine was good for 2 days standby, immediately the CSR inform that this situation with my phone already great (?) because in general usually other people only 1.5 days standby. That CSR also ask whether my phone already updated with latest firmware which they believe fix the problem with battery. Then they check my phone and see the firmware version and inform me that my J200i have the newest firmware, and 2 days standby is the best stamina of J200i battery. No solution. After 1 month, I feel sucks with J200i and sell it with 25% loss from the original value. Not recommended model, usability sucks (keypad and text size), and battery life really2 sucks. Great things : Cheap, nice design, nice sound. SE should work better to improve the performance of their incoming model.
