Sony Ericsson K530 is a decent looking mid-range handset. It will mostly be favored by those of conservative taste. The new addition to the K series offers 3G support video calling and good entertainment features.
Key features
- Conservative design
- Good keyboard
- 3G
- Memory Stick Micro card slot
- 2 MP camera
- Blogging enabled
- Bluetooth with A2DP
- Music player and FM radio with RDS
- NetFront browser
- Weather forecast Java application
Main disadvantages
- Little innovation compared to K610
- QVGA resolution would've suited the display better
- Only 16 MB internal memory
- No memory card in the retail package
- The phone won't turn on without the SIM inserted
- No EDGE
- Rather basic camera settings, no LED
- Video in QCIF only
- No LED indication of missed calls
- Uncomfortable SIM card holder
The K530 was among the models Sony Ericsson presented in June. A mid-tier handset of decent equipment, it will appeal to conservative users with its classic neat exterior.
