thanx @DoUL
im buying the w800 (or k750) but i posted here since the k700 (which i dont own) has pretty similar "basics" and that people on this page are likely those who own the phone that has been released and not just guessing. i just asked the question because my winxp isnt what you would call legal :) and i wanted to be sure if the sp1 requirement is "really required" because the w800 would likely require that as well. so wait for the w800 with a mature fw i will

The best tool to convert VIDEO files, from or to .3gp\.mp4 is mpegable X4 live. You can download it from here http://www.afterdawn.com/softw..._x4_live.cfm
It's not free version so you know what to do ;)
And here's a quick guide to know how to use it

Yaa man too bad service pack 1 is required but you can always get it from microsoft and install it as an add-on onto your OS or you can find any premade XP with SP1 built in it as mine here. But a piece of advice man, don't change your firmware unless you are encountering problems with the one you have now.

Roxy

It's very simple man.
1st you gotta have any tool to connect your phone with the pc, something like a bluetooth dongle or the original desk stand (syncstation) from any sonyericsson's dealer -it has USB cable- or by IrDA or with any compatible USB cable if any exists.
2nd you'll need to setup the phone software and the syncstation one if you chose its solution -other solutions software if any exists as well-.
3rd choose the songs you desire to upload into your phone and copy it into the Music folder located in your phone memory folder or just click paste after opening the phone memory folder and the smart software of your phone will direct it automatically into the proper folder.
4th after uploading/pasting the songs go to phone media player to listen to them, or if you desire to assign any of them as a ring tone or etc.. go to the File Manager folder then choose Sounds then on the desired song click more and click use and select the desired action. Note: files with the extension mp3 only can be set as ring tones or any other action, other extensions can be listened/watched only.
If you wanted to lower the songs size you may do so by converting the mp3z into mp4z, you can find the description of how to couple of pages earlier.
The K700 is able to play all the extensions of audio\video other than .wav & .amr.
BTW you can play .mp4 as both audio & video or audio only -depends on the way you encode the file as a sound file or as a movie file-.
Tools of encoding, I recommend iTunes cause it converts everything to anything + it's free you can download it from www.apple.com.

K700i soon-to-be-own
Thanks mate ...... Cheers

I love this phone, it's a little slow when writing text messages, but the menus are flawless (unless you're going through your mp3's) and it has a great design. It's completely flawless in the software besides a few lags here and there. Bluetooth makes noises or vibrates when recieving files, which is a big thing when i'm in class and i'm sending my friends videos. One thing I do not like is how the sound of the camera cannot be removed. I'd give this phone a 8.5 or 9 when it comes to features. Design - it's not, but it would be nicer if it were a flip phone, and as to performance i'd give it a 9. Awesome phone, I'd recommend it to anyone, except my friends so then i'd be the only one with a cool phone haha

Hi.. The SE P910 is a complete business fone but its got no wi-fi but the upcoming P1000 (heard from rumors) will have it. As for nokia fones, they may be simple and easy to use but doesn't look quality or presents quality good enough. Btw, those business people would never look into se fones and only go for nokia or teeny nokia fones, because they are too busy to care which fones suits them for their work.. The availability of nokia fones is everywhere in town and people says its the best and popular. But its because of their high buyrate than other fones due to their availability. The K700i is a masterpiece of inequality!! No fone at that class could compete with it and of course, only at that year (2004). Notice how Se makes fones, they slowly gets better and better like if we were to compare the t68i and k700i, we could see the differences. Nokia is weird and slow in technology progress. Their fones have same functions, different plastic covers and design and always giving some incomplete satisfaction to customers.. Profit is what they only want.. Look at the high buyrating fone Nokia 7610, a mp camera but mono speaker.. The nokia 6230 got smaller screen than se fones.. Why that? The experienced, wise fone user would always go for sony ericsson fones..

Daym I ment 6310/6310i not 6230/6230i though both can apply for the same inquiry.

Not gonna argue again but some inquiries are required.

1st tell me what does a business phone do or has to have to call it a business phone ?? and what does 6230 or 6230i or the rest of your list -except 9500- has to do with that calling - a business phone - ??
2nd you keep on mentioning business community, is it located on another planet than the rest of us here and have differnt reviews or interrests or sites ??
3rd why the hell do you think I should go to a bulky phone with features while I can go for the same features with NO LESS QUALITY that are put in a better looking hardware and I get some animation and colors as a bonus ??
4th there is something called categories, did you ever hear about it ?? Hint: you know like youth targeted phones or business phones or etc...

As for your reply t610 was a successor, k700 is a successor, and k750/w800 will be I guess.

Oh gee @DoUL I’m real sorry if I hurt your loyal SE feelings…:)
Oki dokes I concede all you say…:)
But then? Did I ever mention anything about nokia buddy? :) gee you were quite hasty in dragging nokia into your highly weighed argument…hmm? :) but why....?

Pretty obvious huh? :)

Well since you mentioned it why not take it further? Can u @DoUL name one phone by SE, just one phone buddy, that was popular as well as ‘successful’ as a solid business phone? Let’s say like the nokia 6310/6310i ? or let’s say like the 9500? Or even the 6600? Or the 6650? Or even the 89xx series? :) gee I just cant remember the rest even…pity…

See you may not like any of these phones mate…cos they ain’t flashy…they ain’t gimmicky…they don’t fill your world with colours…but the business community sure rated them very high…and you know something? They sure didn’t go for the express-on covers! :)

I'm not gonna argue with you, I'll just tell you simple FACTS.
1st did you try all the sonyericsson phones to state the fact that all thier ones have bugs and errors ??? logically can't be.
2nd every GROWN UP man knows that nothing is perfect and ANY production line in any factory at all industries has something called fault or error ratio, for you being unlucky purchasing not 100% quality piece doesn't mean all the line is crap.
3rd as for the features if you just don't like it just skip it and search for another that suits your needs.
4th and for most if it's a crap phone IT WOULDN'T HAVE GOT ALL THAT INTERREST from day of release till the day of k750 announcing.
And by the way children go for nokia because of it's childish x-press add on covers.
Dude if you don't like it there are millions that DO LOVE IT.

hey WaldoNo5,

mate if u hated T610 then your gonna hate this one too for sure. i mean come on what do u expect? it's sony ericsson. the menus are slow and there are bugs inherent to sony ericsson in every damn one of their phones. the best way to describe their phones is as, "flashy gimmicks". they have very attractive designs and flashy stuff but inside it's a piece of crud. the K700 is also another bits and pieces phone. lots of features but not much use. with limited memory and no expansion slot wht can u expect?
when u get right down to it, it's pretty simple dude. the niche market for SE is all those naive lil kids who think flashy screens and animated wallpapers are all it takes to make a handphone excel.

I have to decide between the K700 or the Nokia 7260 for a replacement phone.
I originally had a T610 and thought it was absolute crap. It always froze, the joystick played up, and I completly HATED messaging on it! It was so slow and i always needed to wait for IT to catch up!
I know the features on K700 are better, but if it's as slow or anything even like the T610, I'd rather go back to using the Nokia.

Any help with what would be better would be appreciated!!

It should work man as the firmware is your mobile software and has nothing to do with your operating system.

To all Malaysians: Please don't download from www.shabox.com. I have downloaded a wallpaper there and they cheated my money! They subscribed me to JUMBO plan and charged my money every month without my knowledge. Just want to share with you all so that you won't be cheated like i did.

You load the song/midi into iTunes then go to Edit then the last option Preferences then choose the 4th tap named Importing.
If you want to convert the song into mp3 then it'll be Import Using mp3 Encoder but if you want to convert the song into mp4 choose Import Using ACC Encoder followed by tweaking the Stereo Bit Rate & Sample Rate when clicking custom from the Settings drop down menu. Hint: lowering the Stereo Bit Rate will result in a smaller song size and weaker treple but the bass and midrange wont suffer a lot, and take the 44 KHz Sample Rate as a constant choice as it makes no big difference from the 48 KHz one.
The song will be locaed in iTunes folder in your My Music folder located in My Documents. Finally if it's converted from mp3 into mp4 you will have to rename it from m4p to mp3. then load it into your phone and have fun.
