I have had my k700i for like 5 years now since they came out ... I thrashed and abused it. it all these years it hung once, had to change the joystick once and got one new battery, thats it. virtually unbreakable still fast and easy to use ... will buy SE from now on because of this fone.

> In reply to sky diver @ 2009-05-12 18:10 from wHr%No extra software? Do you have a laptop with integrated bluetooth and Windows Vista? Because my Windows XP doesn't have the drivers for my bluetooth adapter, so I had to use the drivers from the CD...

In fact, if you have a Bluetooth USB adapter you can fully use your phone by controling it from the PC. More info on http://forums.se-nse.net/index...wtopic=39877

> In reply to sania @ 2009-03-22 09:51 from PUBrYou can use the bluetooth if you connect the phone to the PC. Otherwhise you can't select the file to send, nor the reciepent.

--------------------------------------------------
For all the K700 users out there that have their joystick "out of order" they should know that EVEN WITHOUT it, you can use the keybord and you can:

- make a phone call to anyone in the phone book
- send SMS to anyone
- add a new contact
- use either the camera or the video camera, depending with which they got stuck before the joystick broke down
- play the first game in the list :P
- listen to the radio
- use mementos - tasks and calendar
- view or delete photos and videos taken by camera
*and if you have bluetooth usb adapter, than you can
- add/replace contacts or backup the whole phone book to PC
- save the SMS to the PC or upload new to phone
- download/upload files to phone

So the phone isn't completly useless without the joystick as you can do the basics ;)

> In reply to mag @ 2009-02-28 11:54 from PA8xAs I know, you can't connect the K700ie to the PC, without some sort of software installed. If you have a cable then install the usb drivers, if you use a bluetooth adapter then install the software and drivers that came with it.

I recommend the bluetooth solution because it's very cheap, the transfer speed is considerably higher than the cable and you can use the phone as a wireless remote control for the PC (range

This was my first ever colour screen phone!! I am actually sad that is doesn't work anymore. It has fallen accidentally out of my hands and now the screen is cracked. Otherwise it would have still worked. Finding another screen is impossible and due to the phone being declared to be discontinued, I can't find it anywhere. This was the best phone I ever owned. I still have it. If there is anyone out there who thinks of throwing away their old K700i, can't you please post it to me or something, as I would really like to fix mine. My email address is: jacobus.myburgh@nmmu.ac.za to make arrangements. Thanks!

> In reply to usman umer @ 2009-02-08 18:14 from u1vRthe battery will really drain even if you don't do anything...that's true for all devices that uses batteries...if you don't want batteries to get drained then turn the phone off. lol! kidding aside, how fast does it drain when you're playing music or taking pictures? Mine can last a few days of moderate usage. As a matter of fact I still have this phone...just not using it anymore.
