I just switched to K700 from an older model. It works fine, great screen, functions. Any idea how to transfer my 477 contact items without having to type all?

Washout

Man what does nokia give that other manufactoreres don't give ??
Does nokia use a technology from other dimension ??
Same stuff, same features, & on bar quality.
What's the miracle that nokia do in replacing the cover and giving the same features, or maybe replacing one feature with another ??
SE is on bar with nokia in the features, yet looks better to me, and again few more animations and colors are welcomed as long as no feature is missing.
As for the bugs it's TOTALLY UNFAIR to state that every single product from a manufactorer will be full of bugs before testing it yourself. I DIDN'T ENCOUNTER ANY BUG IN MY K700i, and I didn't hear that SE is always RENOWNED for bugs. Just be fair to yourself man. I told you before that having a bug or even a couple of them is NOT the basis.
I'm not gonna answer any of your posts again. Man just get out of my head my mobile gives me what I need. If you want a business phone then your place isn't here as k700 isn't targeted to that category of mobiles, go to the p910 forum.
As for calling me "myopic, naive and stiff necked myridons of SE" then tell me what does nokia gives other than AN OLD REPUTAION to even look at her products ??
Remember I'm neither a business man nor a child so don't tell me they give EDGE or pop port or n-gage as I'm not in that hurry to need EDGE and SE's accessories just work fine with its port & by the way if I wanted to play games I go psp & if I wanted a better shots I go cybershot.
Final thing to say here, I like my k700i it has all my priorities, needs, and interests so you keep nasty nokia for yourself. Our door man has a 6600 and you know what it's always good to be unique than the rest of the people.

valuv,
i dont own the k700. i just play with my friends phone. ive tried transferring wav files to it. its been a hit and miss affair. i create my own wav clips. some wav files will play well. some wont, even when the same settings are used. so experimenting (and hoping) is the key
why not convert your wav files to mp3. on the average, you would save about 90% of space. you can search around the net if youd like to know more about conversion. or you can try dbpoweramp.com
to transfer files from your pc, as s has said, you must have a bluetooth dongle (recommended), infrared, data cable or a docking station (if you own a p series phone, then you have this)

Do you need a cable to transfer MP3's from a Mac to my K700i or can you do it via bluetooth? If it's possible to transfer MP3's via bluetooth? If so, what's the best way possible? Thanks....

hello xcian,
seems u know a lot bout the k700i.
I own a k700i too and i would like to learn a few things from you. Pls how can i make my k700i play wav. files and since it doesnt have a usb port, how do i download or send things from my pc to it?
i also have other questions to ask but pls someone should help me answer these ones first.
The phone is very cool and i have bene using it for 2mths now.It has fallen from me lots of times but it's still in perfect condition and the midi tones sound so much better compared to other phones. The only thing i dont like about it is that the price is going down so fast and soon my other friends will be able to afford it...lol

Dear @DoUL,

your enquiry abt the 6310i pretty much shows all you know abt mobile phones and your perception of 'em. look at the date it was released and the 'useful' features that phone has from a business person's perspective...sure it's got no colour display and animated wallpapers..simply cos it was intended for 'professional' use and it targeted a 'mature' market...in these regards it delivers better than any phone ever...you only have to read some user reviews.

however what you have said is not very clear as your english isn't the best i've come across. but anyway let me say that sure, the T610 and K700 were successors. but as for them being a success...:D that's a different story altogether!
you call the T610 a success...i laugh from both ends. the bug list of the T610 is longer than the great wall of china. it was attractive at the time of release and included many 'features' but the more sensible users quickly realized how much of a disaster it was...
dear mate, SE was always renowned for these nasty bugs... I just hope they would improve a helluva lot and quick too at that..
solely for the sake of rather myopic, naive and stiff necked myridons of SE like you...

cheers...

So ... Before I had Nokia 6600 and now I have SE K700 and if I were you I'd buy the Nokia because I think that it is the better one.
But now I use Samsug D-500 and it's better than the Nokia so if you have more money you should definetely buy it.
I think that for now that's the perfect phone but as I read here soon are coming up Samsung i300 and Samsung p-860 so ... if you have time and money you should wait :))))
(Wow I wrote whole letter :)) )

Hi people,I'm actually thinking of buying either the Sony Ericsson K700i or the Nokia 6600. Is there anyone out here who's used both phones before and can give me some recommendation?

thanx @DoUL
im buying the w800 (or k750) but i posted here since the k700 (which i dont own) has pretty similar "basics" and that people on this page are likely those who own the phone that has been released and not just guessing. i just asked the question because my winxp isnt what you would call legal :) and i wanted to be sure if the sp1 requirement is "really required" because the w800 would likely require that as well. so wait for the w800 with a mature fw i will

The best tool to convert VIDEO files, from or to .3gp\.mp4 is mpegable X4 live. You can download it from here http://www.afterdawn.com/softw..._x4_live.cfm
It's not free version so you know what to do ;)
And here's a quick guide to know how to use it

Yaa man too bad service pack 1 is required but you can always get it from microsoft and install it as an add-on onto your OS or you can find any premade XP with SP1 built in it as mine here. But a piece of advice man, don't change your firmware unless you are encountering problems with the one you have now.

Roxy

It's very simple man.
1st you gotta have any tool to connect your phone with the pc, something like a bluetooth dongle or the original desk stand (syncstation) from any sonyericsson's dealer -it has USB cable- or by IrDA or with any compatible USB cable if any exists.
2nd you'll need to setup the phone software and the syncstation one if you chose its solution -other solutions software if any exists as well-.
3rd choose the songs you desire to upload into your phone and copy it into the Music folder located in your phone memory folder or just click paste after opening the phone memory folder and the smart software of your phone will direct it automatically into the proper folder.
4th after uploading/pasting the songs go to phone media player to listen to them, or if you desire to assign any of them as a ring tone or etc.. go to the File Manager folder then choose Sounds then on the desired song click more and click use and select the desired action. Note: files with the extension mp3 only can be set as ring tones or any other action, other extensions can be listened/watched only.
If you wanted to lower the songs size you may do so by converting the mp3z into mp4z, you can find the description of how to couple of pages earlier.
The K700 is able to play all the extensions of audio\video other than .wav & .amr.
BTW you can play .mp4 as both audio & video or audio only -depends on the way you encode the file as a sound file or as a movie file-.
Tools of encoding, I recommend iTunes cause it converts everything to anything + it's free you can download it from www.apple.com.

K700i soon-to-be-own
Thanks mate ...... Cheers

I love this phone, it's a little slow when writing text messages, but the menus are flawless (unless you're going through your mp3's) and it has a great design. It's completely flawless in the software besides a few lags here and there. Bluetooth makes noises or vibrates when recieving files, which is a big thing when i'm in class and i'm sending my friends videos. One thing I do not like is how the sound of the camera cannot be removed. I'd give this phone a 8.5 or 9 when it comes to features. Design - it's not, but it would be nicer if it were a flip phone, and as to performance i'd give it a 9. Awesome phone, I'd recommend it to anyone, except my friends so then i'd be the only one with a cool phone haha

Hi.. The SE P910 is a complete business fone but its got no wi-fi but the upcoming P1000 (heard from rumors) will have it. As for nokia fones, they may be simple and easy to use but doesn't look quality or presents quality good enough. Btw, those business people would never look into se fones and only go for nokia or teeny nokia fones, because they are too busy to care which fones suits them for their work.. The availability of nokia fones is everywhere in town and people says its the best and popular. But its because of their high buyrate than other fones due to their availability. The K700i is a masterpiece of inequality!! No fone at that class could compete with it and of course, only at that year (2004). Notice how Se makes fones, they slowly gets better and better like if we were to compare the t68i and k700i, we could see the differences. Nokia is weird and slow in technology progress. Their fones have same functions, different plastic covers and design and always giving some incomplete satisfaction to customers.. Profit is what they only want.. Look at the high buyrating fone Nokia 7610, a mp camera but mono speaker.. The nokia 6230 got smaller screen than se fones.. Why that? The experienced, wise fone user would always go for sony ericsson fones..
