@doul the settings are set up for k750i but i changed the screen to widescreen not letterbox as it plays bigger.
also look at the phone in the picture its k750i.
shahzad i have k750i and all of the things u said are untrue this phone is better than d600 and n70.
Matt and nin077 - your phones need a firmware upgrade to the latest R1A008. Go to your local SE service center to get it done and it supposed to fix this bug.
can't the phone take pics in a 1.xx resolution? do you know if there is any application downloadable that can take pictures on the phone? can you give me some advice by taking night photos? they always get a lot worst than day photos.
thx man, you do a great job helping people here :)
The charges through USB only when driver is installed,The same applies to access the memory card. This makes the the phone not as portable as you think.
Is there any way or software upgrade so that we can stop the sound which comes when we take a photo? Its bad that sony erricson have this sound with cells.
can set the phone to have interval alert, if there is any sms or miss call in the "event"..?

Great problem with Bluetooth
I press Setting->Connectivity->Bluetooth-> 'Turn Off'
1) Hang for long time , then phone auto-restart
2) Wait for a moment, message prompt of 'bluetooth turn off' but the 'turn off' option is shown instead of 'turn on'..."
I have this problems too, can anybody answer what is going on??Please.
I was previously using Nokia 3230, and very fond of its larger screen for multimedia video playback, and Symbian OS software range.
Can I expect similar features in SE K750i?
Is there any third party applications for Sony Ericsson phones?
It can take up to the available 2GB memory Sony Duo Pro stick. There isn't any bigger memory card in the market yet.
whats the maximum memory siza(like 1Gb?) for the card slot can this phone take?
is it means that i can't use the USB Cable to transfer the files to my pc ?
Is charging a problem nowadays ??!!
Both your phone OS (Operating System) and the USB cable are optimized to charge the phone from your computer PSU (Power Supply Unit) whenever you plug the USB cable into the phone, you can't do anything about it because IT'S NOT HARMFUL TO YOUR PHONE AT ALL.
Still, if you don't like that, you can transfer using IrDA (Infra red) if your PC mother board have a built in IrDA receiver or using a bluetooth dongle.
i juz bought k750i last saturday. i'm trying to connect it with my pc using the USB Cable, but whenever i plug in the USB cable to the phone, it become 'charging' status, can someone help me to solve this question ?
I wrote its pros. and cons. -based on my personal opinion- about 3 days ago, you'll find the post in page 3 or 4 in this forum.
"Shahzad" also wrote the goods and bads in this phone -based on his personal opinion-, though I do have to comment on some parts of his post.
It's been confirmed then, thanks very much for the very useful information.
Maybe it's just too sensitive to you, or you were too hard in using it till damaging it, or simply you had a bad luck to get a faulty unit.
I started to think about the triangle of (Service provider, Protectd content, Firmware) once I read the first part of your post, luckily "m4m" also agrees with me, so check his post out.
About the second part of your post, I have no complaints about it at all, bluetooth technology is A VERY USEFULL tranferring method, just I have to comment or state the fact that also using the USB cable in transferring data or particularly songs/MP3's isn't bad & won't make any errors in transferred songs as long as the user used the correct procedures -such as a proper installing of the Suite and the driver with updating to the final USB driver (no need for that step now as long as you'll copy into the MS only), copying into the correct folder, and using the latest firmware-. Maybe you don't have the latest firmware, or even have it installed but still have that USB cable bug in your phone for I only use the USB cable in transferring MP3's into my phone and I can find & play all of them after removing the cable, no additional useless files, no empty files and no unplayable files, I can find all the MP3's which I copied just where I copied them and all are playable and I can delete any of them when I need to.
I have to comment on some of the bads which you say that are present in your phone.
The phone in general isn't slow at all, I invite you to play with any motorola E398 to know what SLOW MENU/PERFORMANCE really is, K750 will be slow only when you open folders that contains lots of files, especially the Pictures folder for it has to draw a thumbnail for each picture -which is pretty normal even in desktop fastest processor-, even that is a way lot faster in latest firmware according to my actual observation.
You needn't to charge the phone for more than 4 hours in first time then 2 hours later -I wrote before about my experience with Fully charged indicator that didn't start to show up in my phone untill I used the phone for a whole month, before that your phone won't display it even if you charge it or let me say OVER-charge it more than 12 hours-.
The last thing is the camera sound, in fact, you can mute it if you live in a country that isn't much strict in privacy laws carrying out, to find out if you can mute it in your current country firmware or not, simply put the phone into silent mode before opening the lens cover.
It's kinda normal, even your PC operating system -microsoft windows or any other OS- will start to act up with time, it's always an indicator that your current OS needs to be formatted and that a clean install is needed.
You need to flash your phone into a newer firmware, but if you don't want to take that risk or currently using your country/service provider latest one, all you can do about it is resetting the phone when you wake up -switch it off then wait half a minute before switching it back on again- and whenever it starts to act up with you, I reset the phone several times a day myself to maintain the highest working performance -I learned that form my windows, if I kept it idle for sometime then started to use my PC again, I find the performance rate becomes kinda slower (maybe this doesn't actually happening but I feel that) so I reset the PC to get its highest performance rate again-.
Your K750 storage capacity has nothing to do with the general performance of your phone, using a larger MS will increase the efficiency of your phone by being able to carry more files and applications, but as I just wrote a few moments ago, opening a folder with 15 files inside of it will take less time than opening a folder that contains 50 files, but it won't affect the general performance rate.
No, that was true/correct in the past, now K750 users can only flash their K750 devices into K750 firmware, so as W800 users.
No, there isn't any difference in music play back quality in both K750 and W800 devices, you'll only notice a differnce because both models uses a different model of headsets, even both models have the same loud speaker.
Yo,is it true that u can upgrade software to w800?And then u gain music only mode? And plz tell me is there any difference in playing mp3 on w800 and k750?
I hope some1 answer :)
Hi @DoUL ,
I have been using SE K750i for about 3 months. Recently my phone has been freezing a lot when running any application(like games, videos etc.). Even otherwise when am not using it for a log time it becomes very slow(response rate becomes approx 5-10 sec).
Do you know why this is happening? My memory status is ok(about 20Mb in phone and 10 mb in card). This gets recitified only when I switch off and turn on again.
Also could you tell me if I insert a 1GB or 512MB card will it increase or decrease in efficiency(will it work better).
First the good. MP3 player is top notch. Makes you wonder why Nokia even boasts of an MP3 player. Only wish it was a bit louder as traffic can drown out the music. The camera is VERY good. Pictures are comparable with a 2MP digicam from a respectable brand and can easily outperform cheaper cameras from unknown brands. Flash is very powerful but i got the add on flash as well which helps a lot. You can take a picture in complete darkness and the external flash does wonders. The built in flash is decent as well for night shots.
The bad. The phone is a bit slow. Like you click on a button and it takes a small fraction to do as you wanted to. The joystick is good but is very sensitive. Sometimes while hitting up you end up pushing it and a call gets dialed. Again, this is not a defect just that it is sensitive. The built in games suck! Come on Sony! Give us better games. The keypad is not very comfortable. It is usable but not as comfortable as the nokia or LG phones that I used previously. Would have liked changable covers as well! Battery life is good for one day using the MP3 player for an hour as well. Doesn't get close to the claimed time though. Battery takes forever to charge compared to my Nokia which charged in 2 hours. Screen quality is way better than the Nokia but not as colourful as the Samsung. The memory card slot has a weak cover so one needs to take caution when removing the card. Camera makes a noise when you click it and it can't be disabled. Video recording is poor compared to the competition. The phone is better than the competition though if you consider it mainly for it's picture quality and MP3 capability.
