@ Siddarth : so when you say its in India do you mean the K790 with Edge or just the K800 with 3G

Here in India the cell phone is priced at 21,000/- Rs. around 420 USD. Its a Great price for a great phone like this!..Cool!

PU2},.. please open your eyes,.. look at some of the comparisons of SE and Samsung here
SE advantages over Samsung:
Best Java Technology and a lot of APIs supported for more symbian like java applications will work on it plus it havs unlimited jar software size like symbians can offer,.. not to mention NVIDIA graphics support on P990i and Mascot 3d engine and 3D gaming API,.. no phone can overcome/beat that excellent feature except the Giant NOKIA Smartphones only.. i doubt SAMSUNG can withstand SE in Java games and Applications,.. SAMSUNG is very poor to that...
Have very good camera with or without autofocus, with 2 LED flash equipped in many SE IMAGING phones and the best is the RED LED locker and Xenon Flash autofocus is proven better than Samsung,.. (SE K800 Nokia N93 and Sharp 903/904 is far superior also than samsung p850 and Z710)
Have Very fast interface and very graphical desplay with 2-3D animation in menu navigation, in comparison to motorola and samsung.. better messaging functions than most phones(motorola,samsung)
the only thing SAMSUNG excels is the business design trends(not sport designs in which Nokia and SE excels much), bright screen and quality video, all other features is just copy from Siemems(SLIDER),NOKIA,and most of all SE, plus the are just making the saying best "camera phones?" for their beloved country Korea,..

Yeh, they don't even have this phone in Hong kong yet either, I actually want this phone so bad, but I have no use for 3G either, so K790 is best for me. But my opinion is that this phone when it comes out, will for sure be cheaper than K800i, cuz it's not 3G. I really hope SE releases this phone soon.

@ Gstank: I'm in the same boat as you, and I'm pissed! I have been waiting for this phone for months now, and ever since my w800i broke a month ago (i went swimming with it) a need for a good replacement has become urgent! even though i occasionally glance at other possible phones (samsung z560, d870, d830), I know i would always regret not getting a good old SE, k800i is right for me, except I need the k790i because 3G is of no use to me on T-Mobile USA, and I definetley need EDGE - I love using internet, especially for Google Local and Opera Mini. But k790i was supposed to come out shortly after k800i, and as I watch k800i prices drop below $500, there is still not a word on the k790i! Very frustrating, I hate my current (temp. replacement) nokia 6600! And even more frustrating, I know when the k790i comes out it's price won't be as low as the k800i since it will be new... I'll still have to wait a week for prices to drop once it finally comes out! argh why do you tease your loyal customers like this SE?

UGH when is this coming out! Im in love with this phone but need an Edge version so K800 wont do for me here in the states, does anyone have any Idea or at least what are the latest rumors

just samsung camera quality is mediocre, mp3 quality is too, and its battery life its worse than nokia and motorola and sony ericsson.
not to mention they phones are never widely Available, and the good ones are only in korea with an unfriendly and boring not custom themeable Graphic user interface :P my 2 cents

I want to buy a K790, but where is is? In Brasil it not exist, in America it not exist, in Europe it not exist...Then IT NOT EXIT IN ALL WORLD. Am I right?

well come on, do not fool yourself, what can we do? aside from it is a samsung, there phone already reached the higher resolution of QVGA to CIF videos even if it is on a 1.3 mp camera while SE has 3mp camera but still stuck on primitive QCIF resolution. Oh what a pitty plus a brick design. I enjoyed videos more than photos because it is more realistic. Regarding as a phone itself, samsung is very ideal in terms on function and design but very sophisticated with a premium class feelings. ouch! it hurts.

don't make a mistake by confusing the video quality with display quality..even so, it's more than obvious that other companies are strugling to put on the market competitive phones such as SE at vrey friendly prices..again, such as SE. SE is in pole-position for a long time.
