Hi, this is gonna be my new phone, it's GREAT!
Do you know when will it be launched and at what price?I heard it will be 600$ but it seems too much.

okay lets end this fight , and can we all just agree that in the mobile industry that samsung isnt the best, i'll admit that now. but niether is nokia or sonyericsson. all three of the companies are equally great. all of their phones have great features, and basically each of the companies provide their phones with the same "basic" features. but in some cases samsung will have some features that sonyericsson wont have and sonyericsson will have some features that nokia wont have ect..


in my opinion i think that these three companies are the best there is to offer.

The K790a may very well be my next mobile phone! I have a W900i and love it, but I'm very interested in the Cyber-shot branding and the 3.2 mega pixel goodness.

Does anyone know when the K790a is estimated for release, and about how much the unlocked version will cost? I'm guessing at least $600.

Continuation: SE phones today have the best Java Technology than any other phones like Nokia and especially to SANSUNG, this is the main reason why they dont put Symbian OS in their phones, Java is far superior than Symbian in terms of stability, symbians are open softwares, yes like windows and etc. but the number of JSRs APIs put in SE's mobile phones are getting more and more supporting file management, PDA optional packages, and the new JP-7 and JSr 185 and mascot capsule V3 combination, and enabling it to manipulate any hardwares of the their phones (camera,memory,and many more) and increase it's speed and performance just like SYMBIAN OS can do. can samsung beat SE's performance?

People who bashing SE phones(NOKIA and SAMSUNG Fans) can't recognize Java Software advantages(which is the real score to them) in SE's new models coz they're focusing on camera,music Symbian and other phusucal hardware characterisitcs only, Time will come that JAVA technology will be as functional as Symbian OS. and about that SAMSUNG, are they focusing on these technology? NO, SONY has the main contribution for that technology and that is only one of their expertise which other Brands can't beat,.. SAMSUNG has very limited technologies of their own so they buy and buy other licenses,softwares and hardwares could you just admit the truth.

Samsung is nothing when you compare to Sony Ericsson joint-venture in the technology field. The fact to put a 10MP camera sensor in a phone isnt indicative that samsung is better than SE. SE may put a Cyber-shot 10, 8, 7 megapix camera sensor in a phone and you may change your opinion, but it isnt the matter. SE put tech in phones in accord to market requirements. For this fact samsung not release a 10MP phone for now in europe or americas, maybe in the future.

samgsung its calling themself the leader?! HAHA but they are THIRD, and they are falling 0.1 little by little. sorry but i have laugh. samgsung announce it phones but they are NEVER released, they huge, and they lack most of the features the present phone had.
its easy to explain every handset have it limits. with less features its easier to improve something like the camera. the chips its used less. and MOST of their phones are never seen, only korea, and in small quantities? really their LCD screens are awesome but in all the other markets they are behind. not by much but they are, i will reconsider this as samgsung stop playing games and releases their phones in a considerable time.

I would agree with Tarantula provided Sony Ericsson upgrades K790 & K800 with EDGE & 3G on the ones which lacks the other and with 30 fps video. Then it will outrace Nokia N80,N91 on Nokia's grounds.! ;)

lucas, can you please do not go far away in the discussion, were not talking about samsung's technology on TVs or anything, were talking on mobiles.

yes they are the best company,, but why do they just can't put all their technology in a mobile phone? SAMSUNG phones have many limitations compared to SE and Nokia phones, most on software, programs and JAVA, and the company's trademark technology:SYMBIAN licenses, while SE has 3D engine that can compete Nokia OS powered phones, SE have unlimited jar size than samsung which only has 2-4mb only, and also why SE had made walkman player with capable of producing high quality sound with mega bass feature comparable with apple's itunes(Motorola ROKR E2) and NOKIA's N91 and 3250, and another weak side is that they produce smartphones with a fast processors, but why it's symbian smartphones are slow, uncomparable to Nokia? because they always buy technologies, and they cant develop unique technologies that can rival Nokia and Se phones, example: Symbian, they buy this OS licensed by Nokia.

and let me tell you, they have good imaging phones today(2MP phones), but why still uncomparable to Nokia's Carl-Zeiss? and SE's K750,W800? because they still have limits in their technology, SE with the help of Sony's technology succesfully designs phones equipped with Sony's technology, which proved to be good, better and best putting it in a not very stylish phone maybe, sometimes boring design shows people to not judge what is oustide, and SE proves that, and SAMSUNG? they have good designs But limited tehnologies, do they have technology to beat SE's technology of their own?

I never said that nokia or sonyericsson weren't good because they are very good, they may flourish in europe but samsung is the best, there is no doubt about it. Although sharp and toshiba make better phone screens (in the european market) than samsung, samsung makes better plasma televison screens, and better lcd screens for computers, and monitors. Samsung also invented DLP technology for televisions. Aside from samsung, philips makes the best plasma tv's.

Samsung might not be as sucsessful or asp popular as nokia or sonyericsson in europe, i wouldnt know because i dont live there. But i do know that samsung is the "global" leader in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence.

Buying tech from Ericsson and Nokia.

For shure samsung produce the best phone screens in the market, although Sharp and Toshiba beats Samsung screens.
SE phones dont use sony screens, uses epson screens for their products.
Samsung has phones with fantastic appearance like sliders and clamshells, with great screens but the most advanced products in the market (europe) are Sony Ericsson and Nokia. I dont talk about korean and japanese market because they have different and more advanced phones. No other country in the world are comparable to these markets in techi field. Korean phones are more advanced, and japanese phones are more advanced than korean phones (panasonic, nec, sharp, SE, etc.)
SE announce their phones early because is a promotion strategy, while SE manufacture such models and fix firmware issues. K800/K790 are planned to be release in june, and like K750 it will be a best seller in imaging segment and beat samsung Z710 and nokia N73 in image quality.

yup..i guess this is a great fone'
so...i'll have to chose between the k790('cus i hate 3g phones) and the nokia 6280!
even if i'm a sony ericsson fan, i have to admit the competition is great! if the price of the sony ericsson will be far bigger than the nokia's one, my decision is made!
in the end..i guess nobody's a camera maniac...so i don't see the sense of the 3mp camera!
we use digital cameras!:P

lucas, SONY has the best LCD and plasma TV now aside from Handycam,,, and samsung is next to them, another is that samsung digicams are far behind from cybershots canon, fuji, hp, nikkon care the brands to beat cybershots, so don't dare to say samsung has the best technologies.

no...the reason why they annonced this phone so early is because its other competitors like samsung and nokia are far ahead of sonyericsson and they are trying not to fall to far behind. yes they are trying to get peoples attention, but they're just doint that so people dont forget about them

Rehman. If you want to save sms's syncronize with your pc once in a while to archive them . I don't see any reason why a phone should be able to store more than 200 sms's.

I can't wait to get my hands on this phone! It rox!..I think the reason why SE announced this phone so early was to get as much attention on the model as possible. If they had waited till a few weeks before releasing it they wouldn't sell as many copies..I figure it will be out in stores in about three weeks or so.

Main disadvantage of Sony Ericssons all phones is They have limited messaging.you can save only 200 Sms's even in costly sets like w800i,w900i...etc..there is limit of 200 sms's in all sets of Sony Ericsson.those who want messaging they cant use Sony Ericsson!!so this is main disadvantage n due to this reason i got rid of w800i!
