While I don't see camera phones being comparable to a digital camera, I still want a phone with a decent camera. The main reason being that I don't keep my digital camera on me at all time, but I do have my cell phone on me at all times, so if a moment comes up where I need/want to take a picture, a decent (not great) camera on cell phone would be better than no camera at all. That is partly why I am looking at the K750a. Plus given that I want a cell phone with a decent battery life, Nokia N80 is not an option :(
Oh, and by the way, mobile-review.com is done with their preview/review of K800/K750. Interesting stuff, check it out.

3G is not needed because there is no demand for it in N. America. Cant wait till they release in Canada!

I'm sorry guys, but I'm very dissapointed with the comparison between Nokia 6280, Sony d750 and Nokia N70.
THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR AND HORRIBLE!
How can you even review a camera without any camera's features????

SE is the best brand ever not because they are better than other phones but because they are actually cheaper. If I had enough money I would buy Nokia but it will cost double for the same features. Despite all this - it is only a phone it is NOT camera so do not hurry to buy it - wait for 6 months and you can get it for half the original price :)

Where do these itiods come from? Writes, "new phone but no 3G." Did you care to look at the other models simultaneously released. What is K800? Triband UMTS and remaining specs identical. If that is not a 3G counterpart simultaneously available, then what is. The whole world does not use 3G services. Does every new phone model have to support 3G. And does every new model have to have camera (and removable memory and radio and MP3/MPEG4 player and has to be a smart phone and has to have a stun gun and pepper spray and a laptop and a fax machine and a GPS receiver and a parachute and camcorder and supercomputer and laser printer) attached to it?

Sorry to intrude like this, but why do you guys sit and wait for your 3rd party cell phone providers to get the phone and whether they will get them at all or not!
Just go get the original damn cell with it's original OEM software from let it be SE, Moto, Nokia or whatever brand it is! I dunno how hard it is for some, but i am sure if Orange doesn;t cell the K800 and you really want it, you can get it somehow!
I've been with Fido (owned by Rogers now) for over 8 years now, since 1998, and i have never ever bought one single cell from them ever! Always original from manufacturer!
I dunno, just my 2 cent on this concern.

These phone companies, like Sony Ericsson, Sharp, Nokia will ripp you off constantly with their way overpriced gimmick camera phones, because they know that most of you either never had a real digital camera or don't know much about them.

The best Nikon, Panasonic and Canon cameras cost $300-$400 today! And they have the best reviews in 2005 . NOTE: Not Sony, Samsung or Sharp cameras! (bytheway, there is not Sharp digital cameras at all, Samsung cameras SUCK, and Sony cameras are bellow everage in 2005)

Sony k790 REVIEW:
CYBERSHOT - So what?
XENON FLASH- So what?
THE LOWEST DIGITAL CAMERA TODAY MUST HAVE:
1) Yes, of course Xenon Flash (Finally-Sony)
2) Totally separate manual control
3) ISO settings
4) Shutter speed settings
5) Optical zoom
6) Normal resolution screen at least 200.000 pixels per 2.0 inch-2.5 inches screen (Sony k790 has 240x320 = Only 76.800! per 2.0 inches!)
Never ever will I waste my money on this so-called camera phones whether it is k790, or Sharp 904!(unless I buy it as a gift)

correction
3.2 megapixel doesnt mean that k790,k800 will capture good videos
you will be disappointed to know that k790,k800 can only capture videos in 220x176 @15frames/sec
may be this is because SE just wants to sell PERFECT phones & not SUPER-PERFECT phones

i think you should INNOVATE a TECHNOLOGY to install SYMBIAN on yor K700,k750,k790,k800

To drsilverworm, It does have a lens cover. What do you think that big thing on the back of the phone that says Cybershot, Autofocus, 3.2MP is? It slides up and down and is the lens cover.

i have been using the k750 for about a year. regardless of what voting results SE phones get, i will never switch to another brand. as far as customizing how the phone works, sony ericsson delivers everything u can ask for. now with the newer k 790 and 800, SE will deliver even better phones. 3.2mp makes a big difference especially if you use the camera regularly

3.2 megapixel? Xenon flash? higher quality video? 2 inch screen? Edge? Picture blogging? I like what I see! This will be an excellent upgrade from my current w800i, I just need to start saving! I am an avid photoblogger, (chrisppix.blogspot.com) and the picture blogging will be awesome for me! My only complaints: the battery is weaker than the w800i, and there is STILL no lens cover! Why did SE ditch the lens cover? I loved it on my w800
