I have been an avid user of Sony Ericsson phones..i have tried 6 other models and this is my latest K800i..i would say this SE phones is the best when it comes to quality, youre not going to shift to other phone brands if you are already used to this SEphones..K800i is the best when its comes to its digital cam and in taking pictures, though when its comes to video i still prefer my k750i..of course just like other phones k800i has its own flaws too..but still for me its the best....
Dearest Steve J,
It is very obvious that you dun know the difference between camera phone and a digital camera. Why compare K800 with a digital camera and it is not a digital camera in a phone. Even the Nokia N93 is not on par with any digital camera in the market because-it is a camera phone
Even without the xenon flash the picture by K800,the picture is much better and sharper than nokia n73. More ever is make of cheap plastic
I donot know the sound quality of k800 through an ear piece becz i have never used the ear pieces.
Otherwise the sound quality is brilliant. I will give sound quality 9 out of 10.
People I really wanna know about sound Quality is it the same of the Perfect W series even if I have the earpiece of the W series PLEASE RATE THE K800i Sound Quality as 1 to 10 average !!!!!!!!
i've had this phone for over a week now and i must say its one of the best mobile device available today that is priced reasonably compared to its competition. it is a very solid all-in-one mobile device. a mobile phone, organizer, mp3/fm player and a brilliant 3.2 mp camera with xenon flash. pictures are wonderful even on dark places like bars and clubs. phone function is a as solid as ever considering its a sonyericsson. size and built is perfect. not too bulky, not too small either but simply a luxurious finish. this phone is built to last even in the market with so much competition.
This is the second SE phone I've had and will probably be the last; I don't like the OS.
Good points: Excellent display, good graphics, expandability with M2 slot, connectivity with USB, bluetooth, IR, and 3G, good camera, excellent build quality.
Bad points: Awful battery life (3 days max). SE have still not learned from Nokia regarding convenience for users: this phone has limited details for missed calls; profiles don't allow ringtone changes; you cannot select a "ring once" option for ringtones; the reminder function is USELESS (phone beeps once and that's all); firmware update function through Sony website is rubbish; many bugs in OS including key click turning off for no reason after extended use. If you like the attention to detail of Nokia phones, DON'T BUY THIS. I was very disappointed.
negative side of K800.I have a Nokia phone issued by our company and a SE phone which I owned. Here are my comments.
1.Awkward lens cover. Why SE made a chunk of small plastic cover which made it hassle for the user to slip on their pocket?
2.Expensive memory. It so expensive to upgrade the memory of SE compare to other kind of external memory mmc.
3.Not so user-friendly application.
3.1)the way you query the name of on contact is not easy as Nokia.
3.2) if user want to added a number on their text message there is no option to add the number of the user. Otherwise to do that you have to forward the entry thru contacts menu.
4.)the joystick of the SE phone is not that as user friendly as well.Much better if they made it like touch button.
5.)Not all kind of audio codec are recognize by SE.Hope they could fix this.
I am using K800i, the new one cos the form of it is not like the one shown up here. It is interesting. I like it color very much, smooth.
The shot is good, best quality. But, when we take photo using zoom, the quality is not good. I think using it is gained i can have camera and maybe walkman. I love it.

the photos of mobiles on this site are taken so that every mobile looks good. Want to see some real photos. Go on this site where u will find article of comparison of d900, k800, n93, n80 an n73.
I prefer copy pasting the site name.
At the end k800 will just rule. D900 also is good. Nokia mob design sux.
I didn't had any problem with my k800 for the past six months. this is the best phone in the market.
Got an K800 for christmas, had a K750 before it. Much prefer k750!!! The K800 is a great fone, but its just really REALLY big! Its very difficult to get it in and out of your pocket, and the back is rubber so it catches on your clothes. The battery is also very disappointing, I used to get a whole week out of my K750, but I'm getting just 2 days out of the K800 battery. Apart from that its great, does everything the same as K750 really except the camera is so much better!! Picture quality is AMAZING! Also, it fixes all the little gripes that I had with my K750 such as not being able to change the song on the MP3 player without actually taking the fone out and going through the menu and not being able to turn off the camera sound etc. If size isnt important to you, then I'd defo recomment K800, otherwise go with either k750 or K610

I realy love mp3 player of this mobile .
Dear Masterboy, I am pleased that you have found a phone that satisfies. However I must tell you that in terms of balancing price, quality and flexibility, the Nokia N73 beats the SE K800i. Reasons: 1)call quality is better on N73. 2) screen is larger on N73 so browsing the web is easier. 3) N73 has EDGE. 4) it is GSM quadband which makes it a world phone. 5) it has smartphone features eg Quickoffice to read MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint files. 6) SE's memory format is expensive. 7) What is the need for SE's protruding slider when there is no optical zoom. 8) SE's outdated video capture-unacceptable for the price of the phone. In terms of photography the SE wins by a narrow margin because of its low-light capability ( xenon flash); although the K800i does not compete with compact digicams eg Sony T30 and Nikon Coolpix P1. However at its price (K800i) one is no longer talking of a mere phone. We are talking of a multimedia device; and in that category the N73 wins.
I guess the only difference between the sound quality between Walkman phone and SE K800 is the default earphones included. The sound coming from the earphones included in walkman phones sound better compared to the generic-looking earphones that come with K800.
No such thing as flawless phone i guess.
True that some people say K800 doesnt compare to today's 7MP digicams but those 7MP digicams couldnt make calls either right? ...we're missing the point.
The whole point is when we're talking about
the balance of price, Quality and flexibility among all phones (stress on the word "phone" digicams not included, then k800 is the top choice no doubt.
This is a great successor to the highly rated K750 as proven by solid numbers in terms of sales. best difference between k750 and k800? 3.2MP upgrade and Xenon Flash. Now i like camera phones but im not willing to spend 600-700$ id rather buy a moderate phone and another seperate new digicam in that case. which is what im planning why i bought the k800...thats just me i guess.
