Cezar.. i guess you totally have no idea about the phone quality compared to K750.
I can tell you this because i have BOTH phone. When i first time look at the picture i said to myself "God, i am glad to have K750, i reckon it has the best design from SE". Guess what? The time when i got K800 in my hand, everything looks totally different. K800 has a lot more improvement than the paper thing they publish on the net. Yes... i am talking about lots of things here, first to mention is the display. When i look at the specs.. oh.. man... still 256K, why not 16M?? but hey.. that is only in the paper. In reality the screen quality has alot of improvement that just simply can't be described officially. The color renderation is just superb and when you have K750 next to it, the K750's screen looks like as if it is a very old phone. K800's screen is more like TV plasma quality. This makes alot of differences when you use the phone to take picture. When you see the picture from the screen, you can say that it has the PC-screen quality. The size of the screen is big enough, and it satisfy everyone's expectation from such an imaging-based device. You can see there is a lot of breeze in the size. The camera quality is best viewed from the phone's screen. It just simply looks superb. And about the autofocus that you are talking about.. I can only explain one thing. The guy who take the picture in esato can't handle the phone properly. If he has done a good job and he knows the setting well, it will makes alot of differences. Just to let you know, the camera settings for K800 is very close to digicam.. and there is one setting: DOCUMENT. I dunno whether the guy has used this feature. If he just uses the normal macro mode.. geez.. that's too bad. He has used the wrong setting for the wrong purpose, that's y the quality looks bad. Even the picture from the gsmarena.. It looks terrible. I hardly believe that it is taken with K800, bear in mind, my K800 is alot better than that. It has a significant improvement over K750, especially when the light is a bit low. Flight mode is a very good feature i found, MP3 player is taken from W800, and the video quality is superb... you have to put the video settings on QVGA size at 20 fps, it will play the video smoothly. And guess what? they have introduce one thing that is certainly new.. VIDEO RINGTONE!!!!! set the video you've put, and use it as RINGTONE!!.. Im not sure whether nokia has already using this feature, what i know is N70 can't do this.. not sure about N80 :p... too bad if they can't. It is a very cool and innovative feature i found. The keypad is very very very comfortable.. i guess its because of the material. It just feels different from K750, although the keypad design looks very similar at first glance. I guess there are a couple things more to say here: Internet browsing is perfect, i just simply love it. the keypad lights has a little animation, when it turns on, it goes from upper part all the way down. When it turns off, it goes from lower part all the way up.. i found this is really interesting as well.

Hi Dave =)

Im from the Philippines
yeah i've tried copying MP3 from PC to phone but i havent tried converting it to low bitrate. im using 512mb and i dont put much mp3 files so i dont need to downsample them hehe.
how do you transfer your mp3 to your phone? im assuming you're using the software that cam with the cd? the disc2phone i think?

try to use My Computer and just copy/paste the file like doing it on a normal computer or diskette or CD. maybe the software is automatically converting it back to 128bit.

tnx again owen, the customised pix actually do show, for contacts i assign them too.Just this ringtone thingie, whats annoying me is that it(the ringtone) actually worked at first. Its still an awesome phone, dont have internet service on my network currently or else would have tried what u said about browsing, have u tried copying mp3 files to our phone from a pc?
got a 256mb and am trying to copy my mp3 files in 32kbps format to save space, but it doesnt convert it, it remains as 128kpbs which is the way i saved it on my system. is this bcos i am not copying it from the cd's but from the mp3 files in my pc.
Holla later.. what couuntry are you in by the way?

How to use the k800 as a flashlight/torch when its dark…

The shutter button on the camera is what you press to autofocus the camera and signal ready to take the pic… When you press the button halfway, the autofocus function will activate… or when its dark or the flash is on, the red LED will turn on, and when you press the shutter button all the way, the camera shoots and the flash activates…

So basically, when its dark… all youll need to do is to open the lens cover, press the shutter button halfway and the red light activates! It will be on for about 3 to 5 seconds and turn off… so all youll need to do is to release it and press it again… this is alos accessible in video mode…

So for those people that has this function on their Cons list, saying that it doesn’t have this… try it, and start crossing it out from your list…

Hope this helps!

Just to inform you cezar... i think ur just a man who cant afford to buy a k800 or a n73 phone... blabbering about this lacks this and this lacks that... please put this and please put that, whithout really having a first hand experience of what youre talking about... so come on man... if you cant buy it, lets others that has money and wants the phone buy it...

I have the k800i and i extremely stisfied with it... not that i dont like nokia... and to tell n73 is good, the only difference is that it is a SMART phone, and the k800 is not... thats why the price is higher..

To inform you... theres a radio on the k800, You can also use the red LED as a flashlight/torch... and comparin the camera with k750 is called ignorance because we know that k800 is better...

You know why i can say this? its because i own one... and am really satisfied with it... Good job for SE.

OH NOT AGAIN. so what are you know a professional phone and camera critic who can command a big company like SE and tell them what they need to put in their phones? Sony have been manufacturing different electronics including camera for a long time and Ericsson has made a lot of phones already for how many years and they know what they're doing.
all the talents and brains of Sony Ericsson hold meetings not just for one day or one week to produce phones. it takes them number of months or even a year to plan something.
I'm not an SE fan but its crazy to hear people telling a company to put this or put that or remove this or remove than from a phone.
And ITS NOT ENOUGH to see pictures on the net and compare them as you dont know how the pictures are being uploaded on the web. you buy both K800i and N73 and take pictures yourself and compare them.
AND remember... this is a mobile phone and not a camera. so dont expect it will be super perfect because even pure digital cameras has flaws.

No hard feelings. ciao!

guyz
-i have seen K800i photos in esato and all i can say is:
k750 and other AF 2MP cameras are alot better in focusing than this one, it's because focusing is somewhat a bit out of focus which i cannot see in early autofocus camera of se like k750,w900,w810,w810 ones,.. (SE should take this as a warning that their camera phones needs more improvement in imaging and video department) and i don't think cybershot has that importance because it's just similar to standard SE camera interface(in k750,w800 and other 2mp) and the again, LED flash must be back and added together with xenon if possible(just like in LG 5MP phone)... i'm a lot disappointed in the defeat of k800i in focusing and i have proven this in my mind when i saw the photos in esato, and here... SE take more serious in your phones again, all 2mp phones must have autofocus in all series so more and more people will not be disappointed...
-the next imaging phone lines must have CCD sensor and higher ISO sensitivity for reducing blur(this was what i saw why K800 was beaten by N73 in focusing, before K750i has ISO 100, and now K800 has lower of ISO 80 only, this is ridiculous for me,.) never mind the carl-zeiss lens which makes over color saturation and overexposure(look at the keys in N73 photos in comparison to k800i)
-and, just like what SeFanatic and others said in other forum,.. do not remove important features like radio, LED flashlight, Autofocus,. those are very important in SE lineups, coz this is where people meets SE Quality very enormous
-again please help waking SE's Eyes with this happening

hi

I just bought 3 k800s and 2 n80s

I like the fact that the k800 is not a slider because I am against slider fones well not really a fan of it BTW the k800i will beat the n80 anyday because to can take videos at the night time and you can leave the xenon flash on while recording videos its really cool. For the n80 not that good of a design no lens cover and ugly slider I would pick a d807 over a n80 because the n80 looks ugly in the back side from

N80 and K800i? Not a fair comparison, Nokia fan boy. K800i is not a smart phone unlike N80. As for myself, I dont use symbian or video recording , K800i is my choice over N80 anyday.

Anyway, just bought the phone few days ago, buggy problems but I am very happy with it so far.

i purchased this phone from Dubai, UAE. This is the best phone I have ever used. Not really a big fan of non flip phones, but the features in this phone persuaded me to change my mind. Camera is awesome. excellent quality. Outstanding capabilities. no need to have a PDA, if you have this phone.
