Bought this phone a week ago.Was really please at first, loved the camera..
however realised that it didn't have the torch function which my W800 had.
Alos the sound quality of the speaker was not great. I also felt that this phone gave higher SAR output than the W800.
I also experienced problems with reception..I had gull bars but no one could call me & also I couldn't dial out.
So I have decided to return this phone.
I am looking to get W850.

it's Se's 5th anniversary at last,..
and.. this phone is very good for a mobile phone, i mean perfect feature-packed phone.. nice, i saw it in personal and it is very stylish,(the pure black version). very good camera, it's pictures are like a sony digicam DSC-S40, it's sharp and texture is perfect,.. nice for those liking a digicam-phone. this is meant for all of you,..

anyway, i saw z558i, wow touchscreen! at last non-smartphone with touchscreen... amazing move SE, though i hope i could see 3G/Hsdpa phone version of z558i with rather improved camera and video, rather screen also...

good luck SE.

i bought this phone 3 weeks ago and im enjoying it. so here are the good points about this phone:
- it's a 3.2 mp cybershot camera phone
- the flash is very impressive
- very easy to navigate as it is very similar (even identical) to older versions (ie: w810, k750, t616 etc.)
- its a 3G phone
- resolution looks REALLY nice
- the screen is nice and big
and here are the bad points:
- a little too big for a new phone
- the slider door for the camera looks very fragile
- in terms of hanging or freezing, it's never froze on me but it lagged twice because i was flipping through pictures really quickly (but what phone wouldnt lag if you go through pictures really fast?)
- im particularly concerned with the durability of the joystick because it looks fragile as well.
other than that, the phone is two thumbs up! i would recommend getting one. they sell for around 500 CAD give or take 10 - 20 bucks difference. its a good price for a phone with all these options

Yeah its true, u can play nokia games on this phone... but it needs to be in .jar extension. Try playing Galaxy on fire and ull be amazed...

U wont need to upgrade the firmware right away - i havent done it yet, and my phone doesnt hang... but if it does, u can contact the fone vendor so that they can replace it - or upgrade the firmware for u.

for the camera cover - i think not, mine is still good. but its true that when u place it in ur pocket it will open **sometimes** but if u really take good care of the wont, you wont even worry bout that - like i said i have been using the phone for 2 mos and still good as new, lens are even unscratched.

The sound quality is good. using the speakers, youll be able to notice that theyre quite weak, but enough for me. Using a wired headset - yes theyre clear. Using a luetooth headset - Stereo, like i said so it will be good.

@Ian

All you need to do to get vids on the fone is this.

1. find a video on ur PC( .mp4, m4a, 3gp i think .rm will also work *not sure*...)

2. Either connect ur USB cable and then transfer the file to the videos folder OR send it via bluetooth, if ur computer has one.

3. Of course youll need to access it using the phone, either playing it right away after recieving it, or going to file manager or video player on entertainment.

4. Enjoy.

Btw, you can download vids from youtbe and put them on ur fone by simply converting them to mp4. cool... so instead of using audio, U can actually use ur fone like an iPod video by putting in a lot of video files, but of course ull need at least a 256 M2.

Cool?

Ok just to answer a few questions I have noticed because people aren't paying attention to what other people write. The Memory stick is the M2 Series, 512MB came with my phone you can only however at this stage get up to 1GB. I am sure in the future Sony will expand their capabilities. The M2 Stick uses less power than the Duo allowing the phones battery life to last extensively longer than say a K750i. If it doesnt last longer there is something wrong with your battery. :) The memory can be hot swapped this means it can be removed and put back in whilst the phone is still on. You can even fragment the card in your card drive if your an idiot like me and want to try and make it run as fast as possible. Being A FAT Drive system it takes a bit longer to fragment than an NTFS file system. I did that for a laugh, it didnt make much of a difference :P. LOL!

GSM arena have kindly demonstrated the camera features of the phone and compared them all for you between the Nokia N80 the Samsung D900. But at night in the darkest place possible I'd have to say this K800i Cybershot has the best camera. During the day you couldn't tell the difference respectively. But you can check these out for yourselves in a link below the picture of the phone.

About it hanging, my first K800i hung like a bastard, froze, turned off etc etc. It eventually died within 2 weeks and would no longer turn on. However I had it replaced and have never had the same problem since. The new one never hangs, never freezes, is constantly changing menus as quick as an old T28s ;) Considering the screen is far more graphical and clearer than any other Ericsson I have seen, (I cant speak for anyone else if they ahve seen something better be sure to let me know).

The MP3 player I have found is the same as the W810i in terms of clarity with the same headset HPM-70. The only difference is the W Series has a 5 band equalizer the K series has a 4 band equalizer and both can be adjusted manually to suit your bass or trebble needs.

I dont think I need to say any more infact GSM arena have most of this written in their review if you're up for reading the few pages they have kindly put together. Though all I have written here is based on my own experience. Feel free to contact me regarding any thing on this phone I will be happy to chase up any information you desire.

Kind Regards

Wesley Ulrich

The phone is just great i have had it for about 2 months now, but the negative things are the camera is not as great as it is spose to be, and since the zenon flash is right over the camera lenze it captures all the little dust and smoke and whatever is flyeing over the lense, my w800 was taking wayy better pictures then this.
