THE SHARP 903 is still the best 3.2mp cameraphone in the UK!

This was the first 1st 3.2mp camera released in the UK. I am still shocked that it is still the best 3.2mp camera today. I have conpared it to the k800i and the only thing better on the k800i is the flash.
This phone takes better, clearer, more realistic pictures and videos than K800i, it also has a larger, higher resolution screen which twists around to be more like a real camera.
The sharp 903 also has 2x optical zoom. Another plus point for the sharp 903 is that it has a much better build quality and is that bit more harder to see on the street.

Sharp 903, The best camera phone in the UK. No question.

Ok people,

Great phone, great design. We all know that.

What we dont all know is the cheapest place to find a 1gb card.
The cheapest Ive found is £35 at mymemory.co.uk. Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper ?

fnnn... i got exactly the same opinion as you. Guess what? when the first official pictures appeared on the net, i decided not to even bother looking at the phone because it is way tooo ugly, close to unacceptable. It is the moment when i got the actual phone in my hand, then i totally change my opinion and fall in love with it ^_____^. Now i got it in my hand already. It is stunning, simply superb. No complaint watsoever, except the fact that the memory stick slot seems to be vulnerable to be broken and the camera lens started to catch some scratch.... I did my best to take care.

Ok well...

OMG OMG!!!

This thing is freakin sexy!!!!Looks stunning! Absolutely awesome looking phone, great size, buttons are superb, so many of them! I love it!

My ebay seller threw in a screen protector which goes nicely and an extra battery which is about 1cm thinner... ???

Now for the downsides.. Laggy interface, only minor, and the headset thing.. well I had seen pictures that you can use your own headphones, that it was a lead with a 3.5mm or whatever it is socket for your own.. So stuck with SE earplus, but they have a mic and a button on the cord so thats nice.

But the actual phone is so amazingly stylish! Online images make it looks pretty ugly... but wow. It has a black and purple theme and it looks like the phone is made of brushed black steel! It has purple backlighting which looks amazing!

Yet to really get into it but so far, AMAZING!!

I used to have a SE S700i phone and had the same problem as you. when you go to take a pic it would go back to the menu options. The only way I found how to fix this was to do a master reset. But by doing this you will loose all your settings, contact and installed applications. But when it started to do it again I took it back to where I bought it and showed them, and they replaced it under the warrenty.

Hi, i have had this phone since release date after using an N-Gage, so obviously i think its the bees knees after that!

The camera is awesome but i sometimes find its hard to tell if the photos are in focus, even though it should be in focus (with the autofocus). I also wouldn't rave about the night time photos as quite alot of them that i have taken have been grainy.

The main reason i am posting is to ask about the software? I haven't checked for any updates for the phone yet but mine seems to reset and then go back to the menu, mainly when i am about to take pictures or have taken a long video. Anyone experienced anything similar who's had the phone for a while?

Btw, would recommend the phone to anyone, it's so easy to use and so stylish!

@Nik

The phone can play video and sound which is only MP3,AAC & MPEG4 (MP4 video)

I can't see an option to keep the light turned on all the time but it can be set to auto and the phone choose when the flash should be used together with red-eye reduction.

And yes there is a flight mode as with the W800i, W810i and W900i

Had phone for 3 days so far and am really impressed. It's all pretty intuitive to use and the screen and camera are superb.

Only have 1 niggle, I can't seem to change the menu/screen structure. Defaults to "Calls" as leftside quick select option and would like to change it to something else that I use. But that's minor.

It's my first SE, had Nokia and Moto's before this, but I'd recommend this phone to anyone.

It's cool.

@Ric

I'm so glad you said something about the lack of flashlight! Thats one thing I have to have, for reasons you have already disclosed. If k800 doesn't have flashlight, I'm not getting it. I need it to see through these "clouds" :-)

Great phone, but soundwise my W810i sounded better. One thing missing from this phone is the light. On the K750i/D750i W800i/810i you could go to Organizer and select light. This would turn the flash on the phone so you can see i.e. getting keys out, looking for key on the floor when your drunk.

This is a must for people who get drunk or stoned.

SE Please bring it back!!!

The other thing is there is no burst mode for pictures anymore (this would take 4 pics one after the other in about 10 seconds) You get the simialr effect in "best pic" but you don't hear all 9 pics being taken.

I think its a downfull for SE that they have 2 handsets with a 3.2MP camera, i mean, not only this but for the likes as nokia, they have around 6 handsets with a 3.2MP camera now and 3 of them have a Carl Zeiss Lense!!! Wasnt it Sony who has the Carl Zeiss Lenses in there camera's??? but not there handsets? Bit behind if you ask me

Good camera phone. But Sharp 903 camera does take better pictures during daylight. N80 pictures are very dark & even though it has many good features will run out of battery juice within half a day if you try to use several of them.
If you are into phone photography then you have to look at the sharp 903. Because it has much better video recording than these two phones as well as optical zoom, and also takes the best pictures during daytime.

I have all these phones so I know what I am talking about.
