and while we're on the subject why is it EVERY time i ring o2 in the morning the system is down and they have no idea what time it's back on...I'm sure they just tell people that to reduce the backlog of calls waiting!!!! surprising how many times up can hang up and ring straight back and suddenly it's up and running again!!!

o2 are a nightmare...had the same problems with them when trying to get a N80 which i've now sent back coz it was horrible!!! Ordered my K800 lunchtime and just had an email telling me it's out of stock...rang them to cancel my contract and been promised it in 3-5 days...same thing that happened with the nokia!!!! Don't take their 1st answer as law and if it's not an answer you like then keep trying!!!! But trust me if it doesn't turn up in 5 days I'll be back onto them!!!

Having just read several of the comments about O2 I do feel a lot better. At least they are treating every one with contempt and not just me.
O2 are making themselves look very un professional and to be honest I have just requested my PAC code because I am so pissed off. O2 get a grip!!!!

Will everybody stop moaning. I have contacted O2 since Monday regarding the Sony k800 and yes your right you get a different story each time. Ie its on the system but we carnt order it yet or our system is down. The trick is just ring back every few hours i have ordered mine today about half an hour ago and it's on it's way. Gud news allround and only 2 days later than O2 said they would have them. No big deal people Chill out!

As far as i can see, o2 don't know their arse from their elbow!!...talked to several different people today, all telling me a different thing. They still won't confirm that they have them in stock, only that they are on their system!.. what ever that means?!... I think it's a ploy to get your custom, by telling you they have them but in reality you could be waiting another 2 or 3 weeks, by which time they would be available on vodafone or orange. Been with orange for 7 years and never had any problems, knew it was a mistake!!! bummer!!

No Name
You forgot to mention one very important issue with the Z710 - making telephone calls.
If its anything like the rest of samsung's range, the sound quality of calls will be appalling. Bearing in mind that these devices are primarily telephones, you'd have though Samsung may put a little more effort in, especially in view of their previous model's problems in this area, but it seems that they concentrate too much on the gimmicks and lady-friendly designs and not enough on the bread and butter of a mobile - telephony - even the more recent models (D600/E900 etc etc) suffer from this issue. Its high time Samsung resolved this and only then would they compete with Nokia/SE.
IMHO the K800 would be a wiser choice than the Z710. Especially if you plan on using it as a telephone.

as stated previously o2's supply chain is set for today so they should be in stock and able to be ordered from this afternoon from customer service - although customer service don't do orders you must either mean retentions or sales

Be Aware!!!!! anyone who's ordered a k800i on o2. If you pre ordered and got an e-mail saying it was out of stock, you have to re order cause your original order gets cancelled. I only found this out because i phoned to get a tracking number for the delivery. Not very good o2.

z710 you are joking????
it's camera is way worse like i sad even profesional cameras use cmos sensors it dose't mater that much any more(in mobile i prefer cmos if they would of sad ccd super had ...)
the z710 is much much more worse than k800 in therms of camera and sound as for the scren i don't think that the k800 will be lower than z710 (i thinck that the quality will be bether becouse of the protective layer)
by the way k800 has bluetooth 2 z710 1.2
k800 has videocall z710 hasen't(as i can see)
as for the pixel view and .... you can just instal it on the k800 so thi is not an advantage in the name of the z710

SE K800 VS SAMSUNG Z710
Weight/Size : K800 is 8 grams heavier & 10 mm wider. That's a lot.
Display : Samsung is known to produce quality screens than SE, since both hav a QVGA screen, Z710 should hav a btter display than K800i.
MP3 Sound : K800 is better with the headset, Z710 has the advantage in speakers.
Design : Undoubtedly, Z710 outclasses K800i.
Camera : SE is known to produce quality pics but Z710 uses CCD Matrix which is better than CMOS which d K800i uses.So we cant tell which is d better one.
Video : K800i is still with the ancient QCIF res, while Z710 will most likely have a CIF, like other samsung phones.
K800i has infrared, Z710 has TV Out.
Z710 has document viewer (excel, word) while SE has none.
Z710 has 128MB internal memory, K800 has only 64MB.M2 cards are still unpopular, only 512MB will b available this year while micro-SD will hav 2Gb at the end of d year.
So which is d better phone?Z710...
