K800 will surely be the best imaging phone...,,, as far as the Technologies VS. Lens...

Just Tarantula said, the SE has it's partner Handycam,Cybershot and Walkman, in the near future they will use other trademark technologies such as Clie,Vaio,PSP, or even Bravia for Great quality displays...

In NOKIA, Name+Famous Lens Trademark= NOKIA still...

in SE Technology + lens + NAME trademark= Cybershot,Handycam

that is what i am talking about so i said NOKIA will not Beat SE that simple...

I'm with everyone else RE: the joystick. i work at a mobile phone shop, and the number of SE phones with faulty joysticks is huge. I would have thought with all the user feed back they would have gotten rid of it and when with something similar to the W810 and some of their lower end phones... Other than that thou, it does look quite appealing. Will be interesting when i get one of these in my hand.

The tendency is clear, camera phones will replace regular digital cameras gradually. Who dont use a cell phone?? and go to every place with your phone, if it has a good camera you use it for capture all moments and this fact avoid usage of DSC because it implies carry an extra DSC and for the regular user isnt comfortable.
Nokia, SE, LG and Samsung view this situation and they build their own strategies for the near future. This is the reason for the birth of SE Cyber-shot models and nokia carl zeiss camera phones. LG has 5MP camera phone with sonys ultramobile CCD cyber-shot sensor (LG KG920) and Samsung with 10MP CCD camera phone (only in korea)
And nokias lenses isnt worst than sonys cyber-shot/handycam, the problem is that nokia buy camera sensors from others, they dont manufacture sensors and dont develop in technologies in this field. Nokia only correct and optimize firmware issues to obtain maximum quality in photos. This isnt the case in SE, they have all tech available in this field, thanks to sony cyber-shot partner. In K800 SE start to use this advantage with features like image stabilizer, best pic and others.
And nokias CZ camera phones is intended to convince users to choose a camera phone instead of a DSC, for this is Carl Zeiss lenses.
But in N93 for example, the regular user search great image quality, and see N93 with 3x optical zoom and 3,2MP with AF and think: Its for me!, but the user will pay for extra functions like wifi, S60, enhanced EDGE (useless) VGA video and others, N93 will be very expensive. Probably N73 its the real competitor of K800 and for sure K800 will beat N73 like K750 vs N90.

I had the K750i an like the phone but the only thing i found a bit of a draw back was the Joystick ,why doesn"t Sony Ericsson change the joystick to something easier to use like just pressing a button, dust easily got round the Joystick on the K750i an the K800 seems to have the same Joystick an i am sure it will put people off who had the K750i getting the K800,i didn"t wait for it to be released an got the Nokia N80 instead

eh tarantula, if the NOKIA's CZ trademark is true, well i think still no good job for them, the carl zeiss lens from NOKIA's trademark will not be as good as the carl-zeiss in SONY handycam, and cybershot, why?, SONY fans are not blind, they know sony technologies and they will not buy NOKIA because of that lens only,,, if we look at the design, cybershot and handycams have better design,,, and K800 is a cybershot like digital camera on the back front and n90 is the only handycam/digicam like nokia phone, this is one of the reasons why SE become popular with dual front phones: k750,k700,w800 and many dual front phones, that's the result of the opinion here in philippines, many FILIPINOs switch now to SE after their NOKIA 6680,6600 and earlier NOKIAs, the nokia here s popular because they believe it's interface is user-friendly so they dont want any other phones but when they tested other brands, the realize the missing functions in their previous NOKIAs,,, thats what i have observed here in my location,,,

SE will prodcuce a handycam phone? well if thats true, goodbye to N93 video, SONY DVD handycam is the best camcorder today and the rating is better than canon, JVC, samsung and others according to my own research, and really, is CZ powered, but bundled with some advance technologies such as SONY's Enhanced CMOS sensor(which makes clearer images and far better than CCD(charged coupled device) HAD(hole accumulated diode) sensor), anti-bluring system,it's very own high quality DVD recorder and many more. just what i am saying, lens is no use without some technologies, example in CANON it's lens will not be very good without DIGIC image processor/stabilizer... same with cybershot and handycam,,,

People, who cares whether SE has or don't have Carl Zeises Lens. Study done by SE shows that most people barely use their camera on their cell-phone daily. People are mostly interested in high quality display, reception, and a longer battery life.

@M.K.: can you elaborate your frustration with SE's stick a bit further? it sux because it wears off easily? is it too small/big for your fingers? it slips? or...?

¿¿Why nokia choose carl zeiss?? obvious, becuase CZ is famous by Sony cyber-shot and handycam series! For sure this strategy will attract more users and cyber-shot/handycam fans to nokia camera phones, its clear!
carl zeiss (sonnar, tessar) are inferior to leica (summicron, elmarit) and scheneider lenses, and SE in the next cyber-shot camera phone will take a special and branded lenses for it, but ¿what lens tradermark SE will choose? ¿a cyber-shot camera phone with leica lenses? ¿or with schneider lenses?
For me the next SE cyber-shot model will surpass anyone camera phone in the market including nokia CZ powered, and SE will take more tech from cyber-shot, probably with mobile CCD sensor with HAD tech... ¿Why not?
Samsung has a Z710 3,2MP with pentax CCD sensor but is inferior to K800 in picture quality... and remember S700 with 1,3MP CCD sensor.
I think, K800 is the best camera phone in the market because quality/features/price ratio. nokia N93 will be really expensive and it will not be a competence to K800, but is inevitable compare both phones because the camera specs are similar. To the people who says that carl zeiss is the best, is because are nokia fans... And I wait for the SE handycam soon!!

if you be like me,you should hold for the birth of k800 in the market.i just been using k750 for photography, down load and do the same with canon A520,nikon E4100.if you compare,no need to have all the cameras.just have the phone.that time it is 2M.imagine the K800 with 3.2m,image stabiliser not to mention all that is in the specs.
i have been a fun of nokia since 1999,but sory, good buy i belong to SE,come shine or the others.

its really sad to see that there are a lot of other brand fanboys who diss SE just because its SE.

Zeiss is not the best lens in the world, its not even close ... and that's a fact. doing a lil research helps a lot. Yes, Canon and Olympus can easily beat the Zeiss quality. and yes, using the lens on a CMOS equipped mobile phone with slim picture quality enhancement features will mean nothing. the lens doesn't dictate the overall quality, afterall, its just a "lens". but if you're a fan of Nokia, regardless of what lens it uses, you guys will consider that lens to be the best ... right? not only that, you will think that the picture quality will automatically be the best compared to other phones ... its sad really

as for the phone's looks, yes, i'm have mixed emotion on how this one looks. it ain't all that attractive
