sony you cannot do basic maths.
each dimension is twice as big
jesus christ, go back to school.
Shayn, 09 Jun 2008To all who are debating n95 against k850i. here is da simple facts n stop saying dis one is di... morefacts, facts, facts Shayn...
Its XENON not XEON.
SE hasn't reach 50 cyber-shot phones yet.
You are playing at an arguable statement that Symbian is better than Java. That is highly debatable.
G900 and P5i are typically not Camera-eccentric phone. The Cyber-shot division haven't reach the Walkman decision to integrate a PDA Smartphone with the Cyber-shot name. Reason: Hardware.
It's market strategy.
It seems that you are the kind of person alike Nick and Allan who believe that being the "jack of all trade" wins it all.
Its like what Yinsen told Tony Stark in the movie - "You have everything yet you've got Nothing"
bill, 09 Jun 2008sniper. I have also read about the shutter and flash not being in sync leading to poor photos ... moreActually, I didn't just read it - I experienced it. I was thinking the same way and it was bull. But then a piece of paper slipped out from the manual of the phone.
After seeing it I said, "oh... so that is how it works"
There are reports about it being a firmware issue. But after some expeculations, it turns out to be a useless hype of people going on rampage and yelling "it doesn't work" just because they don't read instructions properly.
By the way, are you a K850 owner?
Sony, 09 Jun 2008Are you dumb?
What you are doing is, you are counting both resolutions twice. I'll explain ... moreIt's not that I am against you or I am taking up Nick's side but here, it explain swhy its 4 and not 2:
Right, sorry to brake everyones boat here...
i have a K850i currently, and have a chance to get a N82 or N95 8GB !!
but have K850i aswell !!!!
i think il do it....lol
after all that im having both K850i and either N82 or N95 8GB
sniper. I have also read about the shutter and flash not being in sync leading to poor photos sometimes.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Are you dumb?
What you are doing is, you are counting both resolutions twice. I'll explain it more simply as you don't seem to understand.
Nokia Video = 640 x 480 pixels
Sony Video = 320 x 240 pixels
640 divide 2 = 320 (Height is 2 x better)
480 divide 2 = 240 (Width is 2 x better)
Do you understand now?
Lmao i seee...
so which the Best Music Phone?
and Which is the Best Camera Phone?
out of SE vs Nokia
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970ive been doing a lot of review and visiting places n looking into these phones u knw Nokia & Sony Ericsson.
been doing lots of comparing N95 to N82. N82 vs Cybershot Phones, N81 vs N91 (Audio Quality), W960i vs N81, P1i vs E60 etc...
Spent most of me uni time doing dis instead of me uni work looooool...
To all who are debating n95 against k850i. here is da simple facts n stop saying dis one is dis n dat one is good at dis etc...
- How many xeon phones have Sony made?
- How many xeon phones have Nokia made?
1 = N82 (It Destroys all Sony Cybershot Phones)
It just shows that Nokia have to make 1 device rather than 50 different cybershot phones like Sony lol.
Also have u ever seen ?
- A sony Symbian Based phone wid Xeon Flash Implemented?
Its just shows Sony cant even make a decent phone wid symbian OS n Wi-Fi n Xeon Flash. just take a look at the P5i, G900, Wi-fi enabled but weres da Cybershot in a 5 MP Camera?
sniper supra, 07 Jun 2008actually 4 is correct. 320(times 2) by 240 (times 2) = 640x480 or in other words 320x240 ... moreNo, you are wrong. The video quality of N95 is only 2 x better. 640 is the resolution height and 480 is the resolution width. Sony Ericsson's height resolution is 320 and the width is 240. So the video quality is in fact 2 x better not 4.
Wow, ive been a Nokia fan for years and had to choose this phone cause I didnt like what Nokia had on offer on my upgrade list. Its brilliant, after a weekends use and so on. I love it.
Good job Sony E
There's mexican peso and philippine peso. and philippine peso usually goes in Php.
concerns about the price tag of N82 and k850.
Why is it that they have almost the same price when N82 has more features.
You have to consider some pointers, instead of just yelling "it's cheaper, it's cheaper"
1. Economics - the more you produce a certain product the price drops. And, when the demand for that product is great, the price is high.
2. Digital rights - the software, the firmware, and the bundles of extras you pay are also being paid by the manufacturer to certain other developers.
3. Hardware - normally, if the hardware is cool it has to be pricey. Compare the plastic casing of Nokia (older Nokias, with Xpress On covers) compared to SE (Non removable covers) also compare the carl zeiss optics used by Se k750 and then later to Nokia phones.
4. Branding and Licensing - The names like Cyber-shot or Walkman are higly arguable - you pay morefor those names that some believe it's just a flop. I sometimes do believe that, coz its all psychology. You have to put a name to leave a memorable name for people to acknowledge.
conern about the shutter and flash not at sync, Allan you are not studying things - it is obvious you don't know how to use Se K850i. search the net about it. Any SE user would really really laugh at you.
nokia n95 came out march 07...
sony ericcson havent made a handset anywhere near as impressive...
...and its been over a year
johndru, 09 Jun 2008@sniper- noyPi ka rin? hehehe...
ok, let's stop comparing k850i to N95 since the N95 is no-... moreWhat on earth is a pesos?
Sounds like some kind of nut.
BTW The N95 IS the k850's competitor! The k850 was released in June 07 and the N82 was released in November 07, so the K850 was much closer to release date of the N95 which was March 07.
@sniper- noyPi ka rin? hehehe...
ok, let's stop comparing k850i to N95 since the N95 is no-match to k850i. how pathetic that the first 5mp phone of Nokia doesn't even have a xenon flash! haha.. and you call that the best strategy? how pathetic!
at least now they know that xenon should be integrated on their phones (referring to N82) and not merely relying on led lights. haha.. poor nokia..and look, the N82 is soOoOo much bulkier than our k850i.
i think the main competitor of k850i is the n82. so guys, let's not compare our phone to the pathetic old nokia n95.hahah! lolz.
current price range(in peso):
N95- 18,000-19,000 pesos
N82- 18,400-22,000 pesos
k850i- 16,000-18,500 pesos
@sniper again- i bought my k850 recently for 16k but i'm having doubts if i did the right choice since the price of n82 on the same store is 18,390. watcha think?
No point arguing over nokia and sony ericsson comparison. Nokia users must agree that in terms of stability, display (even outperforms the 16 million of nokia) and software sony outperforms. Being a faithful user of nokia phones earlier I found what I was missing when I switched to SE. Nokia all hype no performance!!
