but look at this. lets say EVERYONE had an N82 (GPS fone). then everyone would see a traffic jam then everyone would divert and there would be a traffic jam...EVERYWHERE!!
do u guys even NEED it as much as u say it's NECESSARY in the K850 (or in every phone?).
i think that u guys r just making a big deal for comparison purposes.
what about the good ponts of K850?
i just think its funny how a k850 owner would have to carry round a briefcase full of accessories.
well then GPS is will be needed in the sahara desert !
owners of K850i will need the GPS accessory!
you wouldnt, but then again im not tlaking about london am i, im talking about the sahara desert
if you was stuck in the sahara desert..then yes GPS would be needed plus battery life!
if you was stuck in London..and lost ...there are millions of sign posts around london! why would u need GPS?
lol the allan and the GPS in car point was great lol.
the scenario is you somehow managed to take a wrong turning and ended up in the sahara desert. However both phones have a solar charger for some reason.
in that scenario, the N95 is better :D
cos there isnt a signpost in the middle of the desert.
LOL. if I were stuck on a highway near a beach, no sweat!!
i'd stop some hot babe in a convertible, get my swimming trunks, use my Sony Ericsson W810i to order Pizza & KFC (just look for a smoking car on Route 66 lol). and we'd get to know each other a little.
after that, i'll just get some rope from my car trunk and hitch my car up to hers, we'll tow my car to the shop and i'll crash at her place for the night. Oh! i'll use my K850 to snap some pics of my new girlfriend. so even IF i hadn't an 'All-in-One' phone, i'd still live!!
ppl these days depend TOO MUCH on technology!!
I didn't know you could see so wonderful at night. Why don't you also tell that to the car manufacturer's who offer it in there car's. What do you do stop and ask for direction's. Have you even used gps. Nobody know's their way around everywhere. Without gps at night and you are driving in the bronx in new york city are you going to stop and ask for direction's. I have seen the sign's in the state's and some of them are terrible. Here is your exit all of a sudden with no pre warning!!
@ Sniper Supra
k mate. gnite! yeah, i'll try 2 b good. but, if sum Nokia Fanboy comes n bashes dis fone, i might turn bad!
neway, Keep Rockin ppl!
me off 2 sleep too.
SE K850i new firmware rumored to be released on Work Week 06, so be ready with your update service anytime soon.
I'm going to bed now, so you all be good people until I come back.
i mean think about it?
if you live a African Jungle were Nothing is Sign Posted or anything...then you would need GPS !
if you live in the UK/USA and other Devoloped Country's they are all Signed posted for directions even on motorways in the citys!
what kind of a idiot would use GPS ..if there signs telling them were there location is!!!
think about REALITY!
you will only need GPS if you are in a African Jungle or stuck in a Forest !
if you are stuck on a Motorway in Europe or for e.g. here in the UK ...you would ring AA to come to rescue the car if it has Broken Down!!!!!!
If my car went dead in the middle of (let's say) a high road with trees along the side and a beach nearby during a saturday morning, What would I do?
With a Nokia phone I'd used GPS, locate the nearest pitstop, know its number then dial. A couple of hours I'm home - safe and sound
But I own a K850... I have not-so-really-realiable options...
a) Phone/SMS a friend
b) This is what I would really really do.
- Take a photo of my car (dumb)
- boring. Take a photo of myself
- still boring. Take a photo of myself and my smoking car. hehe sure is funny
- take a photo of the trees
- take a photo of the beach
- listen to music.
- it's been annoying these way. Let me go to the beach. take photos. then blah blah blah
c) Do option B first then A
d) Do option B first then either do option A or with a gps headset do the Nokia option
^_^ wow! when I go home I'll really really blog that experience. wait... I can blog the pics anytime! hehe
@ Sniper Supra
awesum, dude! gr8 post.
if i get lost, i wudn't waste my cell fone's battery 2 look 4 directions. i wud look at d sign/boards 4 directions or ask ppl or call sum1 (like Dani said). As ppl hav been sayin all dis time, AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN, it all boils down to preferences/choices.
DER IS ABSOLUTELY NO POINT of bl**dy Nokia fans comin here n bashin dis fone. U r jus wasting ur time and boring/annoying us 2 d core! neway, Keep Rockin SE and fone lovers!
SE 4 life.
Come on people^_^
If you want to brag your phones do it elsewhere.
It's all about preferences, so what ever you say doesn't affect SE users.
I've told alot of people before that nokia phones are way better than SEs - No doubt about it.
And I'll be telling a lot more people this;
Having the all-in-one phone doesn't sharpen my mind because it already has everything.
Having SE in my pocket allows me to research, find ways, explore the unknowns and learn more about my phone.
For example, having a Nokia phone gps sure does the things for you - you can go anywhere faster, better - end of the Nokia "storytelling"
Having K850 without gps, sure is trouble (sure sucks!). So what should I do - research
a. I found out about Google Mobile Maps My Location Feature.
b. I can buy a device, New Gps Headset with spedometer functions
c. Look for other models with gps - W760; now I know two phones and more diversities
d. Look for Java apps, now I know four things
e. Having these things in mind, I search the web, talk to people, gain friends, win debates, get tips and so on and so forth
This is why I like SE. It really gives me a feeling of learning new and new things about technology. My phone's disabilities is my chance to learn about how things work.
No offense to Nokia users, but having the all-in-one device gives us the feeling of being arrogant sometimes, and also causes us to rely on technology than our own capabilities as thinking humans.
The principle of SE is not just for ease of use and ease of life (just like what Nokia wants us to have, and most of us is really after), but to gain new things that gives us the feeling of experiencing new things that our minds would wonder. That kind of virtue towards technology is what leaned me towards Sony and Sony Ericsson, and the very essence of their banner "like.no.other"
So if any other people are saying you own a foolish phone, and do believe that it is, then go for the Nokia "story" and be content
If you do believe them but feel so shamed to leave what you want, then follow your practical mind - there's nothing wrong with it.
But if you already have what you want in your hands, like how I feel with my K850, just smile and say;
"Foolish phone? I don't think so. It's just like.no.other.."
