Not looking to trash n95, but man some ppl are ignorant.Love, and I mean LOVE! how all the nokia ppl need too justify the price that they paid for the n95.(i would too) K850 just released and cheaper already. Also, they say that the n95 is better. And on paper it is.... just on paper. GSMArena says the n95 has the better camera. I can show you 2 other review sites that state otherwise. SE has always had the best camera phones in the U.S. and European markets.
Nokia ppl keep attacking the lack of 1)wifi 2)gps 3)3.5mm jack 4)screen size/resolution 5)video recording quality. Here ya go.
1) wifi download speed is capped at most locations and not always available. k850i is 3G which downloads faster than most public wifi connections.
2)A gps enabler is available for the k850i and after purchased it is FREE to use. Why anyone needs gps w/ a phone? dunno. And from what I've read the n95 battery dies instantly when using gps and it is not free.
3)k850i has a 3.5mm jack with the quickport connection. From what I can tell(could be wrong) the n95's 3.5mm jack is on the side; making a already big phone even wider in your pocket.
4)n95 has a larger display w/ a better resolution. It does, simply put. But it is another reason for the poor battery performance of the n95. Oh yeah, if you can tell the difference between the 2 resolutions of the n95 and k850i you're lying.
5) N95 has the better video recording of the two. Still the k850i will produce a fine video. K850i should have had vga though. Nokia wins there.
As for the OS. Well you can have a smartphone that will run more apps be more business friendly, but slow running, crash and freeze atleast once a day if not more in the n95. And still not have a QWERTY keyboard to go w/your smart phone. And wait 10 secs between pictures. Or you can have the k850i, which will do what its suppose to do and do it w/o all the headaches. I'm sure there will be some glitches in the 1st release of k850s but once fixed they will be fixed!.
does anyone know when the blue version is coming out? i find it more attractive then the green one
Oh, also forgot to mention, the store at Eaton's Centre sells the N95 for about 800-900. I just eyed the price, but forgot what it is exactly. Looks like PMall charges a lot for what they think it's worth, or at least what they think they can get out of N95-Fanboys here, because they're all kinda cheap (their attitudes) and they tote SEs (usually W850s or W800s).
So if you're a Nokiafan boy, get your N95 for over 1000 dollars in whatever flavor you want at PMall, otherwise, it's N95-1 at Eaton Centre for around 8-9 bills.
Ok then, well that's in the US. Too bad for you guys. Here, we've got the K850 for 550 CAD [CANADIAN DOLLARS], and it's final. Products just came in today, just came home from Eaton Centre to look at the demo and see the retailer play with his own K850.
Looks... better/worse then pictures, though it's just something that looks different from the pictures in general.
Everything else is average about this phone, but not bad either. Very good phone, just waiting on a lower price, perhaps, now.
Atleast he doesn't need a belt case that digs into his stomach when he sits now. (He had an N95, came from it, complaining about it's slider form, freezing when you changed it directly from keypad, to music control.)
They sell officially tomorrow. Go check it out. (BTW, it might actually turn out to be 620, upping the price of their own profit as well. Though for now as it stands, it's $550 CAD [Canadian Dollars] for everyone.)
Hi All, got this phone today and well satisfied, camera takes wonderful pictures, and screen quality alyhough only 265k still looks as sharp as n95,keypad is refreshingly easy to master, however the touch buttons require a little more practice!got mine on contract so not got any say on price, it feels very solid, and most of the menus should be familiar to SE fans, althuogh it did take me a while to find file manger, its been moved to "organiser", so far so good, now maybe ill go on the n95 8gb forum to bash the phone................(kidding, my opinions are what they should be, valid helpful, and based on KNOWLEGE!!!!!!)
Anyone noticed the light sensor on the top left hand side on the front of the phone? Opposite the video call camera! Pretty Cool!
No optical zoom on the k850i.. If you want an optical zoom, I'd suggest taking a look at the Samsung G800
Okay it may still be a bit expensive but it's worth every penny believe me!!!! I have this cell phone and I'm really satisfied
this phone is the bomb!!! it's really cool man! I got mine 3 days ago and let me tell you it is really COOL! Always had a nokia phone so this is my first SE phone and I'm loving it!!! It's so cool!! I'm still geeking out about it!!! And also I've not had a phone before with this great kind of camera! I recommened this phone to every SE lover and for people that never tried a SE phone before I suggest you buy one! It is worth it!!!
K850i is not a bad device per SE, however right now it is somewhat overpriced and underperforming IMO, my advice is to wait a couple of months before splashing out on this one.
hi im buying this fone... but plz b4 sum who owns the k850i.. tell me wat the total zoom is on the 5 mp range? also des it have optical zoom thnx x
This towards the previous comment. The phone is not cheap and the keypad is fine. Its actually a really good quality phone altogether. I don't knwo what your seeing but the keypad looks great. A lot of the Sony phones don't have big buttons, but you get used to it after. If your woried about the size of the kays get a QWERTY phone.
haha...great man, totally agree with ur below post...i mean this is the forum allow mobile fans to debate, argue, updated, exchange idea, exchange experience....else forum will be no value at all...
ok finally, i got the N95 and the K850 from my dad yesterday..i duno why he got both but i guess i can give one to my mom.
basically the K850 isn't as good as i thought it would be..i was a sony ericsson fan, but not for this phone. The screen is really bad..especially the brightness..I have a K800 and compared to that, i still like the K800's screen. I mean if u compared them both..there is a hugee difference..the display is just dull..the colors and stuff are dark..the pictures arent great..and the touchcress takes a little getting used to but watever..
i would def go for hte N95! im using it and now its its great..the only disadvantage that i find really, its the little sluggishness and the battery life...apart from that the N95 is pact with a lot of stuf!! i mean anyone with their phone who get the N95 will find that it is pact with a lot of stuf...
are you insane user Ma@f???
N95 8GB: 770USD
Look correctly, open your eyes at the same time!!!
I got the phone 4dayz ago at the beggining the camera was hard to use but in general it is a ver good phone and its way better than any phone made till now. The screen is semi touchscreen and in general i liked the phone i also have the Iphone but i liked this one more.
Had the K850i for a good week now! At first was a bit disappointed with the camera but as the days went on, I realised that it is a very good camera and you just have to know how to use it!
Functions are much the same as the K800i (which, to this day is the best phone I have ever had) I like the auto-rotate function and feel of the new phone.
Fingerprint magnet? Yes! But it's not that big of a deal, afterall it still does it's primary function of being a phone with a few fingerprints on it. Battery life is good, if you don't use it! Sound is crystal clear and very loud!
The soft keys work like a dream, very quick and copes well with my quick fingers! I tried the samsung phone with the soft keys and found it slow/not responsive at all!
Overall I would give this K850i, 8.5/10 but that will probably rise the more I get used to it!
