How comes lowpricecell.com have the K850 for weeks now & no one else has?
Again, the price of $750 is because the k850i is not officially released yet. And stop comparing it with the N95!
Same story every time...
"C'mon, please don't compare this with the N95. They are completely different, the N95 is a smart phone, and the K850i is a "normal phone". If you like to pay more for some (useless) gadgets, get the Nokia. If you want everything you actually need in good quality, get the SonyEricsson......"
just because it doesn't have Symbian OS,in-built GPS and WiFi doesn't mean that it's not smart. a smartphone is a phone capable of PDA functions alongside with it's extensive messaging and 3rd party application functions. well if you are not familiar with SE's new A200 platform(a.k.a. JP-8) it has quite similar number of programming APIs with symbian OS v8.0 and it even beats N95's S60 v9.1 with it's accelerometer API mandated by SE itself which was not available in S60 v3.1
Just wondering about the button backlighting. I've seen pics of only the blue one so far and it looks like the backlighting is blue as well. I wonder if the green one has green backlighting??? Any thoughts? Or has anyone seen pics of the green one other than the stock pics?
Where did you get the phone from in Melb? Was it from one of those mobile shops down at China town or something? Didnt think it was even officially released anywhere?
Let us know... been waiting on this one for a while.
True, I forgot about that. Every memory card has a theoretical 32GB maximum, so that only means, your phone is capable to a very theoretical 64GB.
Let's see SanDisk come out with the 16GB MicroSD(HC) card first, because Sony doesn't usually go past 8...
Most likely, you'll be able to sort it by ID3 tags, otherwise, it'll order the songs by the name of the file.
The thing about 16GB, is if you shave down on the plastic that surrounds the plastic flash memory, though they might cause interference with both cards. AND the phone might not sense both cards at the same time. But it's a probability.
-no answer.,(but it should be)
- theoretically it can handle 32gb of memory
Carphone warehouse are showing limited stock for the K850 on 02 on their website. Also stating "hurry while stocks last".

But, I have some questions which you probably could help me with:
- Is it possible to sort the tracks in the right no. of track in the new Media Player of the K850i? Handy if you have overflowing songs in an album...
- Is it possible to use a M2 card and a MicroSD at the same time? - And what's the max. GB's it can handle? The official site says 4GB, but I've read something about 16GB...
hello been scanning thru posts on k850i but the trouble is that altho its not out here in uk yet does anyone know in pounds a figure range wich this will fit into for sim free and payg...I ask this because in general its hard to define whether s/e sre going to make this a flagship model and charge a premium or just consider it a next step up and sell it at a fair price like 5mp samsung. My N95 is beeing sold because of faults and i am going to miss the video record resolution that attracted me to samsungs and nokias in first place,,but this is a step up from qcif/15fps but at what price??
Nope, it isn't. 1200 is not worth a brick. I'll just go to the habitate for humanity building and take one. Drill holes and put in a screen, and there you have it, an N95.
Also, N95 isn't worth 800, it's worth like 300. SE k850 is worth 500, because of it's exotic materials. I mean, who'd thunk it? The glass was the thing on the K850 that made it heavy. But that's why it's compact and sturdy.
Most likely, next model is not K880, though that one would probably be the thin K series phone, like the W880. The next flagship model would be K860, following the success of this here K850.
supposedly the se company r alredy designing a k880i, i shudnt think it wil b out 4 ages tho. oh and how #?!$>@*) much is this fone
The K850 IS OUT AND AVAILABLE! GO GET YOURS! I got mine today in Melbourne, Australia (the blue version). Is the best phone EVER! Excelente camera, good design, accelometer, new Media Organizer, flash themes, new games, I LOVE EVERYTHING!
TO ALL (who defend GPS, N95 or Nokia);
This is the Sony Ericsson phone. I'm glad you thought that it was the Nokia forum, but I'm sorry, this isn't the forum that covers bulky phones.
This is where design, meets style, and does not copy from another company, or carpentry item.
This forum deals with no-nonsense phones where in place of a GPS within the device, you can get a headset AND GPS in one, to connect to the phone, and get FREE FULL service and useability of the GPS.
This forum also deals with phones that use their own technology, and their phones, although they may have the same general form, ATLEAST have different details and looks, like the keypad, button locations, camera location.
And rather than moving into buggy, slow techologies in their phone's running systems or cameras, Sony Ericsson kept developing upon their original UI.
So please, let me help you understand that the Nokia forum is the first button on the list, not the fourth. And your N81 is the 3rd and 4th phone while your N95 is the 5th phone on the first line and also 7 down, 3 over. I hope your GPS will also lead you to there, without having to direct you to another phone, or even yet website. Maybe that's what happened. Your N95 failed on leading you back to your forum, and brought you here. Actually, maybe it did help you. Because it made you see that there is a better device then the N95.
But then again, all of this would be true, if you had an N95.
You just proved our points, they're samples, also furthermore, they're pictures from the prototypes. The pictures were pretty grainy and bad from the N95 prototype.
lol, now you're just being stupid. You can't take one look at a map in a convienient place, and move along? I mean, if you don't already keep a map in your car, then you must be asking for a hard time. Don't always rely on your cellphones for everything. I mean, emergency services always asks for the person to go to a landline if they can, because cellphones are unreliable at times.
Y'know, you're pretty funny. You can't remember the direction you came from? lol, if you've been to a place already, you should've known your way around before hand. Either by map, or being there with someone else navigating. But appearantly, you can't bother yourself with that. A GPS or a map is something that you fall back on. You're talking as if your GPS is your conscious, your thought and the thing that memorizes where you've gone. If you're so controlled by computers, then go take your brick, and go to a foreign country and continue your insolent way of life.
Also, I bet you beggars ARE SMARTER then you are, a person who relys on a GPS to get to places. Even so weak enough to HAVE TO USE a GPS to find your way to put your foot in your mouth. Why don't you also use your GPS to also lead you back to your mother, if not, her grave. BTW, don't blame me if you're a few hundred tombstones off, blame your phone.

I agree, moments are to be captured. That's why N95 is not going to be your first choice. From the moment you reach for the N95, to the time you've got the picture saved and the camera ready for another picture, you've wasted a good two minutes.
There is no link for it yet. They don't even update until they sell it for like, a few weeks. They're slow. They've got a price already, just not accepting orders yet.
It looks like they've got no common sense if they're still here, and are still complaining about the lack of GPS. Y'know what?
N95 FANS, DON'T GET THE N95! GO GET YOUR LOWER MODEL WITH BETTER GPS ON THE E65! I MEAN, SERIOUSLY!
If GPS is your life, then just get a GPS phone, not a multimedia phone.
A GPS is just a small part of technology. When you're buying a phone, what do you want? You want a phone with a good quality camera, reception, accessibility (internet & data uses), and multimedia.
Do you N95 users lose the main idea of a phone? If you're going to go on about a GPS, then this website is the wrong website for you. Just go home, please, it's really stupid how your world revolves around a phone that leads you around. A phone shouldn't lead your life, you should lead your life, and a phone should just ONLY HELP you.
Ok, then go buy a 7.2 camera and a rip-off phone with the money that you'll spend on a N95. BTW, you'll also get a tv-out port on your cam, bluetooth printing and wifi on your cam too. If you didn't want a cellphone in the first place, WHY ARE you here on this website?
your right bro.and the camera of this fone is not good.you can see the sample.bad camera!
