Actually, the M600 follows a lot of the concept of the Nokia 9300 when it was first introduced. No wifi and no cam and smaller form factor compared to the Nokia 9500, whereas the Nokia 9500 had both wifi and cam (like the P990).
Also, looks like a lot of folks out there are complaining about the lack of a camera.
Do you think it will be a possibility that SE may produce an add-on camera module (of reasonably small size) that will be video call capable as well taking normal snaps and recording video? This way, it would make things more flexible in the sense that where cam phones are not allowed, you just don't use the add on cam. When you want it, just snap it in. Much like the camera module for the old T68i.
SE left out the camera to probably keep the price down. So, an add-on cam would make more sense.
As for the missing wifi, holy cow! That i can't forgive. You can't even add-on wifi even if you wanted to! At least most of the other smartphones running Windows Mobile which doesn't have wifi built-in still lets you have the option of slotting in a wifi sd card.
I guess SE also left out wifi to keep the price down. But aren't wifi hardware getting cheaper and cheaper nowadays? And wifi is getting so common nowadays, it's beginning to be taken for granted. True, it has 3G, but the charges are expensive. And have you ever heard of a free 3G hotspot? Can't have such a thing, but you can have a FREE wifi hotspot! Even if you gotta pay, wifi charges are still cheaper than 3G (at least where I am from).

It makes sense that there is no camera. I mean if Sony is wanting to give RIM a run for it's money, they have to make a product that will do it. None of the Blackberrys have cameras due to the fact that the Fed. Gvmnt. isn't allowed to have cameras in the majority of the Gvmnt. agency buildings. And since our Gvmnt. has a huge contract with RIM, it makes complete sense. The only thing I would have liked to see it have is for it to be EDGE compatible for those companies that don't yet have UMTS.

Sorry but video calling and cameras are not the most important aspect of 3G: high speed data access is, and that is what this phone specialises in.
Need wi-fi? Don't get this - get the P990 or a similar competitor.
Need a camera? Don't get this - get a 3G phone with a camera.
Don't need wi-fi or a camera but like to have high-speed access to emails, internet, video streams and news feeds on the move? Then this phone could be for you. It's the thinnest UMTS handset I have seen so far (15mm compared to 20mm of Moto V3x) and looks pretty smart too.

Reading "slayer's" opinion makes Garibaldi's point valid. Look down the list at his opinion. What's missing from that wish list is......"4x4 on the floor!!"
A good phone, a good reception and signal obviously, is no longer good enough.Welcome to 21st Century "PROGRESS"!!!

Why do some people expect to have a camera in a professional phone? Why not a built in coffee machine? If you want a good camera go and buy one!!! Canon makes a pro (digital) camera that costs about $7,000.00. Now we are talking REAL CAMERA. Just try it!!! Be serious and demanding about your Photo Hobby.
Camera in a phone is ALWAYS a COMPROMISE or aa Mickey Mouse enterprise!!!

This is a calculator! Not a phone.
All Sony phones either look like toys, or like some gadjets.
LOOK AT SONY PHONES REVIEWS:
Out of all current sony phones only s700 and w900 got 4.0+ points (on a 5.0 scale) It's all could be seen at
http://www.phonescoop.com and other phone review sites.
WHY?
Beacause large phone means:
-Normal loud sound quality
-Loud ringer
-And better over all phone quality (more durable)
AND SONY S700 as well as W900 are the only Sony models that look like nice (like real mature , professional Phones!)
SO, SONY PHONE LOVERS?
Wake up, and demand from Sony to redesign their phones. Also demand to put a normal user interface (like Nokia and Samsung phones do).

Good design but why on earth did they make it without Wifi? SE have shot themselves in the foot with this one... The camera is not a real loss as the target audience are business users. If it keeps the price down, it can work. Add Wifi and a good web browser and good battery life, and they would have had a potential killer product. Fix up SE - Nokia are putting nails in your coffin..

this phone is quite different from K750 - it is 7mm longer, 9mm wider and 5.5mm less thick, its a pity that there is no EDGE but it has bigger shared memory and bigger screen than its alternatives - please forget Camera here

Ok i think most people are missing the point. If the M600 had in a camera + wifi then it would be in compition with the P990. And what sense does that make ... ... ... none, none whatsoever. I for one plan on buying a M600 simply because it would be priced as a cheap P990. I already have a K750 and P910 so that will replace my P910. And the soon to be announced K800 will replace my K750. I wont miss the wifi thats what my tablet is for.
