I have this phone for a year. last week during charging, all the lights from lcd to keypads stop functioning. everything i working except the lights. P1i gurus can you help me fix this issue?

without edge we cannot get a higher speed internet .because 3G is not provided in a lot of district.

been bought 2hnd sony P1 last nite...
this old boy is awesome!.. i repeat, OLDBOY.. haha
but my main frustration is it got no EDGE..
so i cannot use my broadband sim card in it.. wooo..:'((

Hi all , i m a user of this fone frm last 3 years now, it has been the best phone i hav ever used and lov dis fone, now as it has become old, it hangs when i open the WEB(internet) in the first go for long time but once it gets open it runs smoothly , also it takes long time to get switch on as well, CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ME WHAT TO DO, SHUD I UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE, WILL THAT BE A SOLUTION, IF YES THEN PLZ SUGGEST WHICH WUD BE THE LATEST AND BEST SOFTWARE FOR P1i. PLEASE HELP, I really love the phone n hav no intentions to change, just want to keep using it. so plzz help me with ur experiences.............thanks.

I have had this phone for over 3 years now and it's simply amazing! One of Sony Ericsson's best I would say.

Most people complain about the awkward keyboard, but once you get used to it (takes a couple of weeks), it's so easy to use.

I have no intention of switching to a new phone because this phone still serves my needs. It's hardy as well.

For some weird reason, when you've had the same software for a long time- even if it is current, it may lose a small but crucial component, resulting in malfunctions. The P1i is quite a relic, so it gets no more firmware upgrades, but the firmware from http://www.sonyericsson.com remains "fresh", you should try it.

really good phone i've ever have it works like smart phone.. most i love in this phone is the wifi capability..

P1i is a great phone, haven't had any major problems with it ( except battery life 1 1/2 days max, battery contact and phone freezing). I've had this phone for 2 1/2 years now, it is really worn out, but still works fine.

P1i is a great phone in general. It has served me good for 2 1/2 years. Even though great in general I've had and still have some problems with it. The battery doesn't get a contact (the phone switches off when I'm in the middle of the call; this problem has started when it was 2 months old); the battery drains in 1 1/2 days with everything switched off and the phone sometimes freezes for no reason,...
Otherwise great mobile
