if the phone is opening the messages and other applications automatically check the jog dial at the side if its too sensitive thats one,
two check the other botton at the side with an @ sign that is the one touch email that goes to your web or messages directly you can turn it off ... for battery savings mode just adjust the backlight to 30% thats a big help, always disable the wifi that searches wifi every 30sec that is also a big no no.. and if you are not going to use the 3G of your mobiel like for video calling or web might as well just switch to 2G heheheh that also helps battery life

to upgrade your p990 to a gdesk you need the phone to bew attach to a p.c. coz you will incorporate the Gdesk to the main drive of the mobile and if you will still have security issue you need to download cap switch and another application to unlock the security of the mobiel and you can watch a step by step guide on you tube as well just search gdesk or p990 to gdesk..
the cap switch is to turn off the phone's minor security like cache, message backup system, draft backup system and other files back up now the second application will let you surf around the phones DOS/ OS i know this is still incomplete but i hope this help you

Which 'current' Sony Ericsson model has ALL the wonderful features of the P990i and can therefore be called a true successor to this great phone?
I need a more modern phone ...... less bulky, better camera, quality sound, etc ...... without losing the best of the P990's features. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

yup pwede po.. the design would be a blackberry message thread but the application is in symbianize.com look for the post of astrhal23 if im not mistaken now it will show that its only applicable to s60 O.S. but according to the masters s60 and UIQ O.S. are almost alike or some programs are compatible hope you visit

fun trick to do with your p990
go to camera and turn on your flash this will create a flash if taking pictures right...
so heres the fun part, after switching on the flash
1) press the capture button halfway (the one at the right side) that will turn on the flash
2) scroll the jogdial and that will switch your phone from camera mode to video mode then release the button that you are pressing halfway
this will permanently activate the flash so if you want to take video in dark places this will be big help hahahahah
to deactive it
same proceedure

1) one of the reason is internel memmory full
try to check your inbox, outbox, draft and everything in the messages
2) external memory currupted
remove memory card and put in back hahahaha
3) virus (unlikely)
anti virus is not bad
4) use p990 diskcleaner and cap switch
its just an application, like a game but it will clean unwanted files becoz p990 has a back up system that even if you deleted the files and everything it always leave a mark or a trace and the diskcleaner will remove that use it 3 times and then no more

try to set brightness to 40%
wifi disable if not in use
if not using the video calling or net on your mobile change network coverage from 3g to gsm only
this are just a few tips and will help lengthen the battery life

actually this is a fantastic mobile

I brought this phone on 2004 and its stuck / hang around 2 months ago. The LCD is broken, i ask for price of LCD replacement, OMG its too high price to repair this phone. I plan to buy N8.

Hello my touch screen do not work ,but my display does ,the phone works well but some features i can't get to save and set - what to do buy the a display and touch screen some technican say i have to change the whole display and some say only the touch have to chance what do i do
