hi i just got one of these phones and have found that the reception strength is crap, it keeps dropping out nd the strongest signal i have had is 3 bars for 2secs. i have other sony ericsson phone and i have full reception strength. is there any way in which i can get the signal strength to be stronger?

this is a great phone. good sound quality and picture. only problem is the keypads, they crack up. other than that it is a good phone, i love it!

Yes to everyone, the keypad does in fact crack, yes on every S500 (even though it takes longer on some, and no Sony Ericsson has not decided to fix this problem after probably thousands of complaints and about a year-and-a-half. I really wanted this phone at one point but even then, I knew the keypad woould fail so I bought a N95 (I'm not disappointed). Plus if it means that much, boycott this phone! Then Sony Ericsson will see that there's a problem to fix!

me and my fiance both bought these s500i. and yes, i am disappointed to say that the keypad ALL crack. the hp is pretty but i hate the fact that the keypad crack!

if your keypad cracks, buy a new one, its replaceable! its not a big issue i dont know why people saying like its a major problem.

Staff of sony ericsson ADMITTED that the 1st batch of the units got "keypad factory damage". Bring your phone to sony ericsson service center & get your Keypad replacement for free. Fyi.

i had this phone and loved it (until my sister dropped it down the toilet) but there was a problem with cracking, i got that repainted, and it happened again. so when the phone died in the toilet, i got the newer version, the w580i. same problem. if you care about the keypad cracking, then don't get it. other than that, absolutely great phone.

I have this phone. I got it about 3 months ago, it's stil in good condition. If you like using it for music, like.. if you want to listen to music on it everyday.. you WILL end up having to recharge it everyday, most likely. I have never cracked my keypad yet, I don't see how it would happen if you take care of your phone.. you can add memory too. the video format used is 3gp.

I've had this phone for around 4-5 months and my keypads have not cracked yet. My advice is to just be gentle with it and do not use your fingernails when your dialing/texting. My one complain is that the volume when I'm talking to someone is quite quiet even though the volume is on maximum.

hello ppl. i bought this phone for almost 3 weeks now. and i never had any keypad problems, nor phone-dies or any malfunctions. firstly, when using the keypads. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT use your finger nails to press the keypads. use your fingers and i gurantee you will not regret using this phone .. i know i havent regret ;).
music is totally awesome ! but if you love bass u can manually set the equalizer. put the bass to full blast and use your earphones. its totally awesome ! the lights really gives SE a good reputation. and if ppl are askin if this phoen can support the HPM-75 earphones. it can !
