Don't forget, 1) The new Motorolas have 2MP camera (just like S500) 2) The new Motorolas will cost WAY more than this mobile 3) Just because the new Motorolas have Linux now doesn't mean that they have the best UI.
What's wrong the people today? It seems that all they do is look at specs. When I choose my mobile I first look at the ergonomics and the looks (after all, doesn't most of us use mobiles for calling and texting only), and only after that look at the specs.
Again, if you want a mobile that is also a digital camera and an Internet computer, buy a SMART PHONE. This isn't a smart phone. This is for people who want a good-looking slider for basic use.
Luckily you guys don't work in a mobile manufacturing company, otherwise you wouldn't stay in business for long making only 3G 5MP mobiles that cost 550-850 dollars.
By the way, it's funny that no-one in the Samsung U600 thread is saying that "Man, U600 sucks because it doesn't have 3G". I wonder why that is...

The phone is stylish and cool compared to the other phones which are introduced recently. Sadly, its feature does not catch my attention. I was expecting features better or similar to the walkman 3G phones. Other than its fashionable look, I don think its really worth to get this phone. Besides, the motorola new phones are much better comparing to features of the sony phones this time. Its really a dissapointment for sony this time as i don this it can catch attention with its features from this phone.

The S500 does have a media player built into it, but it is NOT walkman 2.0.
Whoever posted the specs just got lazy and copied over the specs from the W580 and did not bother to double check.

one quick question... on the specs on the front it says this S500 has a Walkman 2.0 music player in it, it this true or did they just get the specs wrong? Because whether or not it has the same music player make a big difference to me... (I'm kinda of an audiophile)

when will we see a successor from the S-series? i mean when will there an S800 with the unique CCD sensor? could SE give us an S-series with AF already? afaik they are the first mass-market phone that incorporates QVGA screen on a non-os device. first to have spot metering on it's camera, one of the first to enable horizontal camera usage and etc. hope this year SE will show us the successros in which i consider only one true successor since january announcements as far as features and looks are concerned; the T650. P1 is not a successor to the P-line instead a successor to the M-series. SE should take harder work not to disappoint future technoid buyers in their not-so new phones=D.

I will get another new white w850i instead.
It has video call and light-flash,and mstick.
This ine looks nicer, but it only improves iun size and weigh.
The s500 with 3 megapixels+AF would have been SE real success!

Again with the camera and 3G? :D Guys, if you want top camera and 3G, buy a smart phone. This is a fashion phone. This is targeted to those who want a little better stylish small mobile (young men, women).
And yes, SE T650 has got all the bells and whistles. It also costs TWICE as much as S500. I don't know about you but not everyone want to spend 800 euros for their mobile. Especially when it's almost cheaper to get a digital camera, a basic mobile and a smart mobile.
This is totally the right move from SE!

when my k750 failed on me.. and be extremely disappointed w/ the chocolate.. i figured i need a new love... and at first i thought w850 would be nice... but realizing its Asia tri-band.. and learned the lesson from k750 that reception is call crap. i decided to search for a new one.. and i saw this phone as if its... a bone to my finger... i need it to function.. my thumb might not work on phone w/o this lil baby. i'm waiting! waiting for this beauty to come out. O yes i'll wait.
