I'm upgrading my cell phone soon, and i plain on spending out 200-250$...It's came down to the Motorola Razr, or the 710...I used to have the Ericsson Z500a, and i loved it...What do you think the better choice would be? Im not to big on blue-tooth or anything, but i want a good camera and resolution...please email me...
What are you talking about hate?? 80-90% of the reviews are positive ones.....no its dosnt support Duo Pro....who cares, go buy a mp3 player, and no it dosnt have an fm tuner....who cares, who listen to the radio anymore??? It has good reception, good camera, and solid phone. What more do you want?
so I'm thinking of buying this phone...but after seeing all the hate it's getting from you buyers it's lookin kinda iffy right now...I just have one questions...the MP3 ringtones you're talking about...do we have to buy them or can you actually just upload, say your own song or something like that?
Thanks
If you were to just download a fm tuner, where would all the hardware come from? Just doesn't work that way- w/out hardware I mean!!
Well I found the themes creator finally:
http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/docstools/multimedia/p_multimedia.jsp
"You can make your own theme up with the right software (free from Sony)" -Cisco
I was wondering about this but I couldn't find where to download it. I came across their online smart themes creator but that's crap. Do you know of another program to use?
I got thE S710 2 weeks ago and I think it's a beautiful phone with several operational/entertainment applications. The only I application would love to have that is missing is an FM-Radio transmitter, can this application be uploaded unto the phone by any means? pls help if you know how.
Thank you all.
I was just in the Cingular store playing with the S710 and asking a rep about the phone. He said it's a great phone, but it's "being replaced soon by a smaller version." Anyone know what's up w/that? Thanks.
The S710a does not support the pro format on memory sticks you can only use Memory Stick Duo's not pro Duo's. You may also use Sandisk
Here are a few things that might help some of you out.
1. Yes you can play full songs
2. You can have different ringtones (mp3 tones) for different people (look under your contacts info to set up) best if you crop your mp3 down to about 40s any longer and it’s just a waste of memory also best if you save then to your phone because if you remove you memory card the assigned mp3 to contacts will be lost and you will have to do it all over again. you can assign pictures to each contact
3. You can only use a 128 memory stick duo anything larger will not work
4. The phone is kind of slow at time depending one the theme you use.
5. You can make your own theme up with the right software (free from Sony)
6. This phone is great at picking up back ground noise
7. It could be better with its reception
8. It prints out great picture (4x6)
9. You can have lots of fun with this one. Over all I give this phone 7 out of 10 if you have any more ? just email me I will help or if you would like me to make a theme for you just ask .
i'm highly considering buying this phone but i want to know if you can actually play whole songs on the phone or just clips of songs. like can you plug headphones into the phone and listen to the whole song? i'm so confused. i know motorola just came out with an itunes phone so i'm debating between that one or this one. someone please e-mail me and help:) THANKYOUUU!
Can someone please help me with my phone. I just bought S710 and a card reader/writer. I don't know if I put too much mp3 or not. The phone and PC just kept saying that the memory is full but I can not even access these files to delete or whatever. Any help I would appreciate!!!
I have been trying to figure out how to make my phone ring with all my mp3 songs to each person that calls. I can only have 1 ringtone. How do you set up this phone to allow different people to have different ringtones(mp3 tones)? Please help. thanks.
Hey guys, are you all sure that the highest capacity MSDuo is 128 on this phone? If I were to put a MSproDuo512 it wouldnt work?
Sure this thing is laggy and can only use a 128mb MS in addition to the internal 32mb but it has a lot of pros also. One really cool thing is the video playback. I was able to shrink a 100mb, 11 minute Aqua Teen Hunger Force .avi episode down to a 17mb .mp4 without losing any video/sound quality. It's amazing! The videos are in 176x144 so they cant fill the 240x320 screen but the movies aren't too small to enjoy. The mp3 playback is also great and really opens up ringtone options. I have cut out 20 second clips from about 10 different songs and use them all for different people's ringtones. Opening the phone can be tough with one hand but I rarely have to open it so that's not a problem either (the main reason I open the phone is to turn it on/off). Also if you want to keep your phone protected I suggest checking out the custom made leather case from Krussel.
moving pictures to folder is very slow on s710a i wonder why its slow compared to my k700i its just too slow .application on this mobile phone is freaking slow

I bought a 710 today... a few issues...
1-where do I get a usb cable in Canada?!?
2-I take pics in the dark and there is no flash... how do I make the flash go off?
3-when I installed the software cd, I was getting errors from the sony programs for photos and music!
So I am not off to a great start!
Please help me out, I can return it, but would like to figure it all out instead!
