what are you talking about! have you got any proof of that whatsoever?! the omnia HD needs a lot of internal memory because it has the HD video recording which obviously takes in a lot of digital information.

the Quality of the video taken by the omnia HD is fabulous, so dont even make up such rubbish, you have no idea what you're on about.
and since you're using the screen for basically every operation of the phone, I'd say it's quite important that it's responsive (capacative is in its nature)
by standard connections, i meant a 3.5mm jack + miniusb ports. also stop making out the HD video thing to be a problem. You're trying to say that VGA is better, and no, it just isnt. it isnt hard to just extract videos off a phone and play them back on a computer monitor.
i am so behind kal on the video debate too, he's making sense and you're all trying to knock him down

if sony were alone
we would hv seen much better and even better product
bcoz i think on these sony ericsson phones
50percent goes to ericsson .
so sony hv to protect it's own line of product and technology .They cant inject each and every technology of them in these SE phones
it is really tough time for sony

Why can't they inject such technology? Are we paying LESS? I wish to see them injecting such technologies.
They are paying a price for protecting their own line of products.

Yes, I will say things if they keep coming with announcement after announcement rather than actual release or full specsheet. I will say things, if before it's availability someone claim that it is best. I guess it will not be released before 2010 1Q. By that time there will be more similar models to compare with.

Your post suggests that Sony was busy with their handycam production so they couldn't put better video capability in mobile phone? But still their models were priced on par or higher than others. How lame excuses could get?

Yes, VGA was standard in 2008 for top-end multimedia models.
Have you read any SE review? Then you must have noticed that one of their disadvantage always been poor video recording capability. When QVGA was standard they gave you QCIF. When VGA was standard they gave you QVGA. they were always one step behind on this. If you disagree then I'm talking to one of the dumbest person I had ever came across. Their only VGA capable phone available so far is X1. I have strong doubts how they came up with it, given the fact that it was developed in collaboration with HTC. Only in 2007 June SE achieved a "milestone" by putting QVGA video when the industry standard was set by Nokia for VGA. In 2009 they went another step and put WQVGA in their W995. By then LG and Samsung took the momentum from Nokia and went ahead releasing WVGA/D1 capable phones. The only other two VGA phones coming up from SE are Aino and Satio. If you look at the figures above, it clearly shows Nokia made VGA standard in their top end phones from 2005..then it became regular practice for 2008. 2009 is for D1, thanks to Samsung and LG. The future is HD. I'm glad that finally you said "HD will become a standard".
There are criteria when one review a phone. Availability of 3.5 jack is one of them. It's a standard factor. You can go ahead and bark as long as you want but the fact remains same.
Stylish, exciting, smooth, stable..these are things that depends on personal taste. As of now Satio can't match HD on SPECS, where it can be actually compared, given the fact that it's not available yet. Other than it's 12mp camera (which I have already proved, needs improvement as at times it cant even match HD's 8mp) I don't see anything "better" on Satio as of now. And I stand by my words. Satio seems to be a good device, just don't compare it with HD. Period.
Yes satio is most probably the most talk about, most popular phone at present, thanks to SE's "great" announcement strategy, but it's the sales figures that matters. People do talk about SE and rate it high, but how many of them actually buy it? Sales figure proves that.
And by the way the BIGGEST marketing gimmick of this year is the branding "Entertainment Unlimited" itself.
SE says:
"Drag, drop, enjoy - Media Go
The perfect entertainment organiser - Media Go makes it easier than ever before to bring your media with you, wherever you go. Transfer your media files between your phone and PC via drag and drop. File conversion is hassle-free, too: Media Go automatically converts films and music files to give you the best possible quality."
My question: is this MediaGo organizer is installed to the phone or it'll just come with PC Suit cds, and is this also works for DivX/XVid files, and it is converted to what file (extension)?

2.the HD uses standard connections

4.the HD has a capacitive screen
5.the HD has divx and plays higher bitrates of video than the satio does
6.the HD has more memory in it
7.the HD has a digital compass (gimmick really)
my answer is :
1.Yes.you are right HD has a better video resolution but unfortunetly your HD video quality is not real HD video quality because of omap 3430.omap 3430 is not for HD video quality but VGA or D1.In other word your video is HD resolution with VGA or D1 quality.you HD video quality will be beaten easyly by other real HD video phone with omap 3440 for real HD video quality soon.Samsung lied you with HD video word on omnia HD spec but actually the quality is not real but you are happy with it.you are a sad people.also HD video is useless on 360 x 640 with 3.7" screen but samsung sets it with HD device price. Dont forget the audio quality of your HD video is very bad then samsung tried to fix it, it looks like a failed product for me.
2. HD use standard connection??even you must have HDTV to watch your HD video.
3 and 4. i dont care about it because satio screen doesnt have a problem about it. the satio screen is sharp and clear enough also the screen is very responsive and faster than omnia HD even satio is still a prototype device. so what is the problem?
5.HD plays higher bitrates of video than the satio does? of course HD plays higher bitrates of video bacause your video is HD resolution, bigger size but lets to talk about quality.omnia HD and satio use same graphic chip and processor speed but satio camera quality is better than omnia HD. i think satio video quality will be better than your HD video quality. wait for final review of satio.
6. yes. you gets a buggy problem because of that much memory on your omnia HD.
7. compass?? i dont care...
"it's not a useless phone, but when you can buy the already available omnia HD, i cannot see any reason why you would stick around for this.
the HD has better a better video resolution
the HD uses standard connections
the HD has a better screen (amoled + glass)
the HD has a capacitive screen
the HD has divx and plays higher bitrates of video than the satio does
the HD has more memory in it
the HD has a digital compass (gimmick really)
but those reasons alone are the reason why you should get one."
I WONT get it because it's NOT a Sony Ericsson. End of story. Samsung...HaHaHaHa
y to buy this phone... will buy the more powerful and the more stronger... talking abt se xperia racheal....
