I want to put song as a ringtone but its saying cannot use this file as DRM protection key is missing.so what does it me cant i use as a ringtone.. Please let me know

as i can see, there are still few who can't figure out how to play music on their v800. hope this helps.
1. go to this site and download 'drm packager 1.35' whichever suites your computer.
https://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/docstools/misc/p_misc.jsp?cc=gb&%25C2%25AD;lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps3&zone=ps
2. install it on your computer and open it.
3. you will see 3 buttons. click add then click the all the music you want to put onto your phone.
4. click ok and click create drm.
5. locate the drm folder. usually it appears where the original music file is located.
6. open the drm folder and copy the drm protected file to your phone or directly to your mp3 folder on your memory stick. you can now play it on your phone smoothly.

by the way, i have used the vodafone version but i had already had it upgraded to z800 which is exactly the same but without the vodafone restrictions.

this phone survived everything i put it through. drops, throws, spills. it took two years of heavy damage before its speakers stopped working. If I could get another one, I definitely would.

evry thng abt it is cool except one....why cant we apply mp3 files as ringtones?.... everytime i try it says drm protection key is missing...im sick of trying.. and feel bad that i've bought it... is there any software which wud help me or is there anythng i cud do to solve this headache?... plz help

mine is still working! hhmm... though im having some problems with it now..but after alot of drops and damage done to it well it still works..hihi..

i've dropped mine on the concrete too. Several times! and its still ok. im still using it. had it for 4 years since it first came out.

Had this phone since 2006 I think, and have been very reluctant to give it up.
This phone has been through some bad situations, and is still going strong. These include being dropped in a sink filled with water, drop on concrete heaps(due to work), and just normal wear and tear. Very sturdy, very strong, and it goes like a champ, even tho it looks abused.

why when i charge my v800 the is no any indicator to show me that my charge is full! some times it will takeme the 1day charging the v800 waiting for it to say the charge is full but you know what it will never reply! plz help me out

To All,
Those who get frustrated with not being able to set mp3 as ringtones or play them, Download the DRM packager from the SE website (developer tools)& install it on your PC, after that select the mp3 file you want with add & then click on create DRM content, afterwhich drag the new DRM file from the DRM folder (usually located in your desktop) to your phone or memory stick & see what happens...enjoy :-)
