mic, 21 Mar 2010hi, just got my vivaz, realised when there isa an incoming text message, sender's name does not... moreYes, you can go into applications and select SMS Preview, its a free app but when you accept it, for some crazy reason sends a text message to appication database which I think costs around £3 so I suppose not really free but useful if you want to use that option.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hey there,
Satio goodies :
1- 12 mp camera with a cover to protect the lens.
2- the screen is bigger 3.5 inch
3- the video recording is very good
4- front video camera
5- better and louder speaker
1- the device is very handy and it weights only 97g! Which makes it the lightest smartphone ever.
2- The HD recording is the till date with auto focus
3- 3.5 jack
4- Battery life is better than the satio
5- the processor is stronger that the satio
728 vs 600
Both devices are amazing and nice and I'm sure you will be happy with either one of them, so just think what suits you best and what you want and bang! Go for it :)
If I were you I would take the satio.
Just got this today and tried it out and it is going straight back and being exchanged for another model. Very difficult to navigate, camera very poor for indoor shots, touch-screen on this phone is a nightmare, very unresponsive as has already been pointed out. Casing actually seems very cheap and doesn't look as amazing as it does on a photo.
My phone I had previously, and which I am going to use until I can exchange the Vivaz for something better, is also a Sony Ericsson - a W980 which has been my faithful and loyal servant for the past 18 months. I am going to miss it when it is cascaded to my stepdad on Pay as you Go who desperately needs a new phone, once I get a new phone I feel I can call my own.
I don't even think it's worth waiting for the Vivaz Pro with the slide-out keyboard.
How can Sony Ericsson disappoint me so badly after the greatness of the W980?
vivaz is great and the time you touch it, its very smooth..but i got a hands-on with an X10 is the best, especially the 1Ghz processor Snapdragon, damn way cool,,,to all competitors,,, eat the dust with Sony ericsson X10,,,^___^
noname101, 20 Mar 2010Hi, i think there's no cellphone out there that can play .flv file, it's a flash file, so the ... morei would disagree.. my omnia i900 can play .flv,

Both have HSDPA 2100 in common, but I suppose the availability depends on carrier (and local coverage).
Isty, 20 Mar 2010The vivaz is a great phone, although after 3 days of use, i have come to realize the power but... moreI haven't experienced any outright freezes, but I had an "out of memory" error when trying to take a photo... It was when just got it and was playing around with just about everything at the same time, but still looks like a bit of tweaking at the core level is needed.
The CPU seems to be fairly powerful, so it's probably the amount of RAM that's the limiting factor here. Would be interesting to get a developer mode/app to be able to monitor that sort of thing.
noname101, 20 Mar 2010Hi, the 3.5mm jack of this phone is located at the side of the unit, is it difficult to listen... moreManual says: "Do not insert phone into pocket with the display perpendicular to the thigh. A parallel alignment of leg/device surfaces is advised." :P
Seriously though, I think an angled plug solves the problem well.
The vivaz is a great phone, although after 3 days of use, i have come to realize the power button is very poorly placed, also the microusb looks like its not going to last long, and the phone seems to freeze alot, when it’s working its fast and loads applications, videos and photos very quick but it has odd occasions where it just freezes for a good 20-30 mins, also the phone has a bit of light escaping from the side of the phone which shows it is poorly built.
