The display quality and the standard used depends upon the Price and company's overall market strategy and also other aspects r also involved.
The best quality is TFT (Thin Film Transistor) but it consumes lot more battery comparing to UBC or STN. Another standard is TFD (Thin Film Diode) which consumes less battery but quality just as TFT. This fone w200i uses UBC (ultra Bright color) which is good and consumes less battery than TFT but quality is inferior to TFT. (but acceptable in normal use)
Ranking 1.TFT 2.TFD 3.UBC 3.STN 4.CSTN.
To Tamim,
u can use w200i's headfones wid nokia 5300. it has standard 2.5 mm jack but i think that u would feel not much difference in sound quality because the actual mp3 file processing occur inside the fone, thus u can't get the sound quality of w200i with nokia 5300.

Excellent! Good sound. The photos of 0.3mp are not good. Menu of not dumb the main screen. It wanted the W800i, but its price is 3x more…

w200i wins in all cases it has awsome sound quility.its got some really cool thems and stuff good phone really worth for the money u pay. only darwback is the picture quility. other that than w200i rules

I think this phone is more better than other nokia phone.... ive bought this phone and the sound is more clear. But, the camera is small..

Nokia 5200 is the best competitor to W200, heres some comparison i can make:
5300 vs W200:
>>slider - candybar (w200 wins for it is safer than having moving parts, though 5200 slider is good)
>>bit bulky - more compact (who will win in your heart? lol)
>>Nokia Xpress music player - walkman v1.0 (both are good)
>>STN LCD - UBC LCD(i can comment that UBC is better as far as my expreince tells it)
>>Nokia Lithium battery - SE Li-polymer (SE battery is always better...honestly lol)
>>VGA camera - VGA camera (both are the same)
>>Edge - no edge (if you need edge, then 5200 wins)
>>MicroSD - MS Micro M2 (both have reached up to 4Gb maximum atm)
>>Bluetooth - No BT (deal breakers for those who wants flexible wireless connectivity, useless for those who wants stereo bluetooth--both have no A2DP)
>>simple UI S40 3rd Edition - Advanced SE GUI A100 (use W200's installed flash themes and you won't get rid of the it's cool menu layout - best GUI on a phone yet)
>> Both have excellent sound quality, but if only you know how to calibrate the manual eq, otherwise W200 wins in a wide margin, thanks to Megabass)

can someone correct me if i'm wrong,but as far as my experience tells me, UBC(ultra bright color) is "better" than STN/CSTN type LCDs thanks to it's improved brightness and sunlight reliability(as the UBC meaning implies), thus improving the image quality when viewed on the screen. i both compared K300 and K310 screens and i'm pretty sure to say K310 has better brightness and contrast, and as i have said, it's more sunlight-proof than K300s. on the other hand TFT/TFD is an active type of LCD that can render picture as sharp and as vibrant as a CRT computer monitor though just like UBC,UFB,STN/CSTN it suffers from washed-out colors when viewed at non standard viewing angles(less than or greater than 90 degrees). comparing TFT to UBC, UBC is weaker, but it doesn't tell us that the picture quality is bad, it's just not as natural looking as TFT/TFD can do:)

Could anyone tell me if its headphones can be used in NOKIA 5300? I think nokia 5300's music is good(I own it) but I heard that w200i is better. If i use the w200i headphones will I get better music? Will it be as good as w200i.

By the way, what's the display quality of UBC colour? What's its difference from TFT? And do you know (or can you rank from good to bad) the differences of TFT, UBS, STN, CSTN etc? thanks!

Da Cell iz Beauty !!
But da prob iz its POOR camera dat iz 0.3mp & another thing which it lacks iz BLUE-TOOTH.
I think no mobile iz now a days liked widout da Blue Tooth n Poor Camera result ...
If it iz compared wid K510i,(which costs only Rs.6500)it is no superior 2 K510i but in the MEMORY CARD.
(Remember this cell costs Rs.8000)

i did use nokia 3230....it bcame slow when i inserted a 1 gb card....den i gave a try...4 motorola l7 i ..it was gr8 tech but wasnt hardy
so i had to sell it in only 3400..bucks...which i bought in 8700.....it was mere loss but den someone suggested w200i...its a rocking phone...camera is not so good.n has no bluetooth...however it has a trendy look..n gr8 sound....camera ..in a mobile u can never imagine digicam quality pics...but its pretty cheap n a gr8 handset...frnds pls give it a try.....

nice model but bad in pixel&colour why still use 128x160 & 65k colour? i think modern phone must use 178x220 & 256k colour

This fone can connect to pc in two ways using packed usb cable...u can either use as a usb drive or as fone (actually it makes two drives in usb drive mode one is fone memory and 2nd one is memory card).
To MZ:
Radio Alarm is not a new feature... u have noticed... u can also find this feature in all nokia, SonyEricson fm radio fones e.g Nokia 2300, 2310, SE K750, W700i, W810i, but to get this feature u must have to plug in headfones provided coz it works as fm antena, in my view dont think about any other fone coz w200i is the best u can get in this price braket offering great great sound quality in mp3 playback & RDS sterio Fm Radio... Nokia 5200 and 5300 fones r nothing comparing to this one. i have used both of them but in the end this one (W200i) wins the race in all aspects
