SE rock ever.
I've bought 2GB M2 Card. its work perfectly. But, i've one question for all. can w200 open some application in the same time? i mean multi tasking? like K550? Coz the JVM size is big,
thx be4.
I now have 2031MB free. I don't know what else I could load it up with, since all my media files from my PC are on the M2 now... Most of it is now video (some movies here and there). The only lag I get is when I am opening the video playlist in the WALKMAN - it takes about 8 seconds to load the list of videos that are on the phone. And when you turn the phone on, it takes approx. 3 more seconds to load fully. Then it performs as it always does. Apart from that, no changes on the phone's performance.
I will try to load more and see how the phone copes...
I will try filling it up sometime this week. I will probably get to about 3500MB filled up. Will post a reply with the results...
Any one knows whats the size of the phonebook?

im not sure yet.
Now...I'm still using 1GB (98%full).
How do i upgrade my firmware and how do i know which is the current version of the firmware.i will be buying the mobile today.I live in INDIA.
I currently have 3100MB free space. When it was brand new (no formatting or such), it had 3838MB of free space. Note, when you format the memory card on the phone, it should still have 3838MB free space, or there is something wrong with it (you've bought the card 2nd hand or from a dodgy dealer).
So far, I have used the music player for about a total of 13 hours, and I have not experienced any random, high pitched sounds that W200 experience sometimes, except maybe for the clicking sounds when changing tracks. If I was using my 1GB, I would have gone through 2 or 3 high-pitched sounds by now.... Performance wise, I don't notice any differences when using a 1Gb or a 4Gb. Load up time seems to be the same as before. No lags. Since the W200 now supports hot-swap (unofficially), the phone takes about 1-2 seconds recognising the card when you insert the 4GB card when the phone is on, but that is the only lag I noticed.
I am not too sure whether you will have the same experience as me if you buy a 4GB card. The W200 will perform differently according to firmware installed and the country it was bought from... I took a risk when I bought my 4GB, and it paid off (luckily...).
Note, if you plan buying a 4GB card, remember you are taking a risk! This is because SE doesn't support the W200 to be used with 4GB M2 yet (only 2GB so far). Also, remember to update your firmware before inserting a card bigger than 1GB.

cause i have plan to bUy 4GB M2.
is it really nothing prblm with your w200?
(i means w200 really support 4GB M2).
Thanks before.
I bought a Sony M2 4GB. This is the one with the orange packaging (doesn't come with any adapters, using my 1GB adapters with it). I bought it from an auction site with caution, since some are selling fake ones these days... Ask the seller if they can guarantee that the cards are real. In NZ, if they do and the card turns out to be fake, we can take the seller to court so....... Not sure what the laws would be in other countries... Best buying cards from Sony directly....
Hope that helps... Also, make sure you install the latest firmware before using a memory card bigger than 1GB.
i just got a 2Gb card yesterday, and i have 1.6Gb worth of songs. the walkman player suddenly has these squeaky sounds during playback, and sometimes the playback fails. i'll be replacing this phone with the p1i or a w302 come november, so i guess i can just take the farkedness of it all for now.
can i go for a 4GB memory card or a 2GB card as i have ordered the phone today, the firmware might be updated right ? Please suggest me .

i need to know.
thx u.
Umm.... I used to own a W810 back in 2006 to about June this year... It runs a WALKMAN V1, not a V2. V1 does not have album art support while V2 does... Note that when you are in the WALKMAN app in W810, there is no album art display. An example of WALKMAN V2 is the W660 or W610. The difference is quite obvious.
Well... In my case, it seems the 4GB runs more smoothly and in a more stable manner than the 1GB I used to have...
5ushi, 02 Oct 2008There are bugs found on the WALKMAN V1 - this is the random, high pitched sounds and playback ... moreHahahaha...
hey w810 is walkman 2.0.
and about 4GB M2 more stable than 1GB....ahhmm...
are u kidding me??
haha...
There are bugs found on the WALKMAN V1 - this is the random, high pitched sounds and playback failed messages. In addition, there is the rather loud hissing sound in the background when you use customised EQ (high treble). SE has confirmed that they will not fix these problems - they are working the most recent WALKMAN V3 and fixing problems there. They maybe working on WALKMAN V4 for phones in the future...
I have noticed that the playback errors occur on the W800 and my W200, but never on my W810, which has WALKMAN V1. I wonder as to why...
As for my 4GB M2, I have NOT come across a single error on the phone. Also, no WALKMAN errors yet. I have been listening to about 5 hours worth of songs so far, but nothing to report! It seems that the 4GB M2 is more stable than the 1GB in my case......... No random high-pitched sounds or playback errors. But I still get the occassional clicking sounds when the player is switching tracks...
