will you all just stop lying about the phone its deadly i've had it since it was out !!!!f**k you if you dont like it you b******s !!!!best phone ever i mean 1.it looks cool 2.its slim 3.camera = deadly 4.great just great !!!!so why not get it ???????i want a reason send me a reply please

This phone is so annoying
I'm a fan of SE, i had SE k610i and V630i best 2 phones iv ever had so i thought this would be great.
i don't really care about walkman phones or cameras because i have a camera & ipod so all i want this phone for is texting. however when you get it first its fast but it slows down so much until you have to wait for da message to catch up to what you've typed. then in the middle of a message the screen will white out and phone turns off and on. speed is back but it slows down quickly again

Its very poor set u can't imagine 2 days ago I had take a W302 but its have several problems likes
1/ At time time of talk the screen gone white.
2/ If u talk a call more then 5-6 min its starting heat.
3/ Camera Quality is very poor
4/ problem is that after buy the set the shop owner & there salesman treat very badly which hurt
5/ Please try to faith with other brands Sony Ericsson is now eqal as china set (very low price sets like local sets)

W302 contact backup
As you know there is no software to take backuo of your contacts with this phone. But i found a way (workaround)

To copy contacts from or to your w302 there is no need for any software. Sent all contacts (there is a select all option) via BT to a near PC or Laptop with BT. All contacts are copied to the default directory-folder the BT saves received files. Contacts are saved as VCF files (open format used by many programs).

The opposite is also true. You can sent VCF files from your Laptop-PC via BT to the w302. I've tried up to 20 simultaneously and I was successful but even more should work.

That way you can copy all contacts from one phone to your w302. Also you can have a backup of your contacts this way. No special-software is needed just a BT enabled laptop or so.

i bought this phone a few months ago not really too convinced about how good it was after reading all the opinions on here, but i'm glad that i did. tis is an excellent phone for the money you pay, in fact its probably better than most phones you pay alot more for.
i had the w800i for about two years and i thought it was great, but this thing blows it away. plus i recently updated the web access on it so now i can get instant meesenger too.
all in all i'm more than pleased with this phone and wont be changing it for a long time.

I am planning to buy this phone tomorrow, but when I read all your comments about that this is a useless and very bad phone, I'm getting unsure.. Is it really worth the money?

this phone isnt the worst ohone youll ever have yeah right it has a few lower points but its worth the money you pay for it

Hi! I'm Denny Abindan from Bacolod, Philippines..I got my W302i last month and in the nidst of using it,browsing all it's files and applications,i noticed a lot of poor specifications.these are; no copy and paste of texts,no infrared,camera is poor co'z of no zoom wen pic is already captured,poor speaker sound,slow browsing of files e.g pictures or music,screen turns all white when keypad lock is disabled and u have to remove the battery to use it again..and there is a lot of other disadvantages...i've been a sony ericsson user for years and this is the unit that made me sick of using such brand...that's all..thanks..stop using it guys!

I have the phone for 6 months and I am happy with it. It offers good functionality and appearance for the money you pay. It works a as modem under linux and mac os. The sound is not bad at all. Java apps run well excluding some which could not be installed such as google maps. No problems with opera mini 4, skype, nimbuz. So don't be so radical judging it.

Overall this phone is not worth a penny you spent on it.


The phones walkman player is slow and crashes regularly. The camera mode lacks zoom, unless in burst mode, which is a rather useless move which downgrades the quallity a lot. The OS often freezes at startup - the phone will take about a minute to catch up with itself, screen goes white and turns off.

The themes (which are on other ericcsson phones) are extremely limited and unexpandable. The 'sent messages' folder holds a poor amount of space and takes not long to fill up. Random contacts will have 'number errors' which are only fixed by deleting the contact and adding under a different name.


Worst of all, this phone fails to function correctly when it gets to low temperatures. It is virtually impossible to use in cold conditions as either a 'sim read error' or fake 'empty' display pops up on the screen.


Considering sony make the best phones on the market, this is poor

Bad things abt W302
no notes, camera not good, cant blast music,no themes a lot of bad things correct liao

Is w302 equal to other walkman series in sony ericson?
is its sound quality (both FM and Mp3) really good like the other walkman series? Apart from hanging and other drawbacks i am verymuch concerned about its sound quality through its earphones
Is it worth buying?
