Sony Ericsson W380 - user opinions and reviews

This is good set,but this has no video recording this is a mejor drawback for a camera holding set.so please upgrad this set quikly. I would like to ask a question about bluetooth, how setup required to send data from W380 to other set.Thanks

The "E" means you have an EDGE signal for "G" you have GPRS signal

the "E" stands for EDGE and "G" stands for GPRS. It means your phone is attached to one data network (e.g. internet). You can configure your phone to attach to data network only when you request.

'E' for EDGE and 'G' is the regular GPRS, the internet service for your mobile.Edge is the faster one of the two.
I dont think it is possible to get rid of the symbols(only if you dont have a mobile net activated)

Hello i have one question.
At the signal corner there is a word "E".
It is always there for wat reason, and how can i remove it. some time it change to "G"
what is the functionality of these two.

W380 only support 2 GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) according to the normal technical specification on

W380 is nice and good mobilephone with small handy size - of course you get more features from a more expensive sony ericsson model - so also look on extra network charges (like monthly payment if you buy the phone as part of mobile contract) - maybe the total cost is same for model with more advance features - depends on the offers and how much you use the mobile

Hi everyone, I'm from Argentina and recently bought this phone.

The sound is impressive, according to be a Walkman series.

I highly recommend this cel; but I must warn you:

- the camera doesn't record videos. You can watch them; but not film. Since it's not a K series, the flash isn't included. But the camera, still, it's good.

- the external speaker it's not very crystal. But I forgive Sony-Ericsson beacuse, after all, it's a Walkman.

- Something special about the text message ringtone: IT DOESN'T PLAY FOR MORE THAN TEN SECONDS. Yeah, that's right; the text message ringtone doesn't long beyond 10". So if you use a mp3 as a text message ringtone, it won't last more than 10". I've contacted Sony-Ericcson about this, but still didn't get a reply.
I'll keep you all informed.

Other than that, it's a very good phone.

Checked out the W380i in a store yesterday. Unfortunately, they only had the black colour. The black colour didn't look that impressive. The keypad was also black and looked very cheap and plasticky.
Overall build quality is very good but looks were not as impressive as they seem in the photos.
Ultimately decided to go for the W660i which has 2 MP camera, bigger display, 3G support and comes with HPM-70 handsfree. A bit more expensive compared to W380i, but a much better deal IMHO.

the phone only support Memory Stick Micro (M2) up to 2 GB - according the technical specifications on sonyericsson.com

so it waist of money of buying a bigger memory card! secondly the phone will not read the card at all or saying that files/file system are broken (you might get it to work if you only keep the use of memory card below 2 GB)
