hey got my phone yesterday, and it works great, and yes as most people have discovered the key pad is both small and thin so a chance of keys breaking, but overall a great device, the sound is clear and smooth, i got the grey model and it looks good :), and in terms of battery life to soon to tell ill get back, with updates.

Just bought this phone and although the keypad is thin it only takes a few messages to get used to it.
It looks well cool and even has functions to show you how fast your walking!
just to say again, it looks sweet as. Especially the lights

I have just recieved my phone today. I could believe how thin it was. Yes keys are close but acceptable. Will come back and let you know when I have had more time to look at it.

i was just looking at the w580 today and indeed the keypad felt really weird.

can someone who already owns a w580 for a few days, or weeks, confirm the cracking?

thanks.

so, it basically means that the first explanation given by SE for the cracking of the s500's keypad is b*s*. Uhmmm
They better do something about it, then.

@Zero

just be Xtra careful with that charm thing, my sister used to have a 'Hello Kitty whatever' hanging from her phone until it scratched the screen (and she was always careful).

Can someone confirm for me whether there is any small hole for me to hang a phone accessory charm? Thanks.

Had the phone 2 days and initially found the interface a little alien (ex Nokia owner). But have no issue with the interface, menu’s or shortcuts now.

One slight niggle with the slider is that the screen plastic is quite thin and I get the feeling long term this could be a problem if you use your thumb on the screen area to open the phone. I’m using the lower part of the phone to open the slider, which isn’t as natural in the hand, but it should prevent any issues down the road.

To answer the question below, the phone has 12MB of internal memory.

Had this phone a week now - got an unlocked one at CPW on payg for £150. Love it, keypad small but comfortable to use and (touch wood) not cracking - I've checked and its a week 27 model.

Have dimmed the screen to help extend battery life, camera really not so good - i had clearer shots from my old Sharp GX30 (at 1mp)- a far cry from SE's 2mp efforts w autofocus (as seen in W810 and my 2yr old K750). Am in fact a bit miffed at first reports of the W910 (which I won't mind getting in the new year) that it's also w/o autofocus in the camera. The 910 will be a high-end walkman phone w 3.5g and 3d gaming etc, so this SE marketing thing about not putting the best possible camera in a Walkman phone is a bit of a let down.

Walkman functionality is brilliant - no crackling at start up, nice fade-in/fade-out effect, and if you use better earphones you can tell they've got the sound chip right on the button.
