At first I thought it was a great phone. Great screen and great specs too (for the time). But after just 4 months, the keys started to crack and break. And a little bit after that, at around 6 months, the space button just wouldn't work anymore. Ericsson graciously replaced them, but it just happened again when the warranty was over. Also, after a year or so, the slide mechanism broke down and it clicks a lot now. Looking to replace this phone after 3 years of servitude.

i've been using this phone for almost 3 years, its still good even after i accidentaly step on it,and of course the LCD broke into two, and its creating a single line in the middle of the screen, its quite irritating tho, but its still working and the speaker is still as good as new. But i've got some problems here,the charger wont connect to the phone no matter what i do, and the handsfree wont connect too, pls help D: thank you so much :)

i just broke mine, still working but the screen is not, i checked it and the flex cable had a small cut, how can i repair it? lets say how can i open the half part of it? do i need a 6 torx screw???

phone is realy good bot only one prblm with handset battery gets down very fast & every thing is fine with tjhis handset.

I've been using this phone for over a year nw, it's very good but the only problem i'm having is with the memory stick. The phone does'nt recognise the memory stick anymore, each time i turn it on it always leave an error message 'all content on memory stick may be lost format anyway' nd when i try 2 format it, it fails 2 format.

Its an exciting phone with very good sound quality and potent walkman integrated to it! Its pedometer is pretty close to accurate for an 8 kilometer jogs/runs/walks that I have used it for! The main problem is that it's not strong enough to pass through a sporty lifestyle of a user(I don't mean dropping and throwing but mositure problems and not so tough build design)! No sir it isn't made for that! For a girly girl, this is an ideal gift but for a sporty one.. I'd strongly advice against it! It being a slider, would cause obvious service issues after 10 months of average use and for people who slide the phone often unmindfully, be ready for service in 6 months.
Keep it away from water and Moist environments like bathrooms and yes, ofcourse, your sweaty POCKETS! Because it's screen is going to take you for a wild ride you'll never forget.. the speaker is in the centre of navigation button and that really draws in moisture like a gate into the phone. The other thing to mind before buying this phone is that its buttons arent very heavy texting/sms friendly and I have experienced that having overgrown nails doesn't really help typing fast. Sony Ericsson has really understood the price wars in certain markets and learnt its lessons by reducing prices to meet the competition but their Chinese Built phones have big issues with Material Quality and serious issues with memory card compatibility and the phone's own capacity to manage its own memory! The Quality has taken a bit of a slide so far and if your local service centre is badly run with bad servicemen, then it's a bad investment. I have had this for 18 months now and am part of a Sony Ericsson users group. Having used 9 SEs so far, I'd give this model a 5/10 in design strength and quality and 8.5/10 in features as its well packed for an average user!

Hey I have used this phone for a year now , it is just perfect and i love it!It looks really cool(slider and lights on side),lots of my friends are jealous .It is also very small and light.
1.The keys are fine there is no cracking (i am a gamer have around 50 games on my phone so i guess as good as a texter if not better) as suggested by some posts , display and slider is fine too.Keys are big enough i have a average size fingers.
2.Little known but Sony Ericsson runs apps(games) MUCH BETTER than other phones(eg. doodle jump loads in 3sec on SE phone and 6sec on nokia ,this is just one example there are many)also the graphics show better and games run more smoothly than on nokia.
3.However the phone some times restarts on its own if overloaded(to many games & apps running at the same time)
4.I have dropped the phone several times from about 4ft on marble , no problem there .(However once my camera developed a loose connection it was fixed when I pressed the lens )
5.Music Quality Is Awesome !!!!!! SE Walkman phones are unparalleled there!The only phones where you get the mega bass effect.
6.The step counter (accelerometer )really works and works fine ,i like this feature of my phone .However the shake feature is redundant as you have to press and hold the walkman button to shake and change song .
its easier to use the previous and next buttons or the volume button directly.
7.Camera is ok for general picture taking in good light , not very good in low light or detail pictures (you can take picture of a single long-book page clear enough to read but thats about it any bigger and you cant zoom and read),also there is no flash .If your looking for better picture taking i suggest the cybershot series
8.I love the slider ,you can pick calls by sliding open and end calls by sliding close ,also sliding open unlocks keypad and sliding close locks it.
9.Finally i am a SE loyalist so i suggest you buy this phone or cybershot , but if your looking at other brands try nokia x3(music is not as good but you get a 5mp cam with flash)

w58oi is very good handset sound is great can watch movie with surround sound . only negative point is battery gets low very fast. rest every thing is good in this handset
