the phone's great, good music but then the drawback is the battery backup and also gets heated up very fast:(
Please Gsmarena, write a review for this phone. I want to buy this phone for christmas and need to know if it is good.
Also I need to know the disadvantages of it so if it is really bad I will buy another phone.
There is so many mixed reviews about this phone I don't know what to do.
I own a w610 for about a month now, i use my phone almost constantly listening 2 walkman player and radio sound quaility is great but the battery lasts up to 26 hrs the most
can someone who OWN a w610i talk abt its battery life?
for both stand-by mode and continuous usage of walkman, camera and all that?
I've been wanting to buy this phone for quite a long time now. I'd carefully read opinions over the web, but there seems to be equal comments about this phone. A 50/50 positive and negative general view. I'd like to ask directly, is it really worth every penny?
w810 is outdated with walkman player v1 where w610 is version 2, thay are walkman phones so who cares about a camera if u want a camera phone go buy cybershot. w810 is a ugly brick w610 is slim and feels good in your hand plus w810 has no wireless bluetooth.
w810 is way much better why???
-the focal point is 4.8 while w610 is 3.8
-at has a turn on night mode which is photolight w610i dont have it
-photo in 2mp can be zoom in w810i while w610i cant you can only zoom it in VGA mode
-the only thing good in w610 is fast browsing in photo or in application
review this phone!
i want 2 know is the screen visible outdoor?
is the screen clear?
i agree wid you tat the ergonomics are a crappy considering the size of the keys..but c'mon the battery life is much better than wat u have mentioned..my w610 works for atlst 48hrs without recharging wid a decent use of camera and the walkman player and occasional use of the web browser.. and you tend to get used to the keys even though they are small. i have been using this cell for over a couple of months now and i find the design to be as good as it gets simply b'coz i got used to the keys in about a week!(and may i add tat i am a messaging machine!)so pl go ahead and try out this fone cos its mint!
it seems that the real problems about this phone are the tiny keys and the easily drained out battery.
well, i'm not gonna buy this phone.
thanks people, your opinions have saved me from an impending mistake.
can gsmarena pls have a review of this phone? it will be much needed and helpful too!! thanks
I found that my battery is putting out 950mah When its listed at the standard BST-33 at 900mah. I found that my battery was dying a bit fast could this be the prob?
well, i guess if you do your own search and read the opinions here, that will be the best answer that you could have. you know you have to exert a little effort sometimes to know what you need to know.
and oh yeah, if you are going to compare two things, use "better" or "worse" not "best" or "worst".
The camera can't zoom in/out when using 1 or 2 MP resolution! Atleast that's the problem on my one, is there a solution? If so please let me know ASAP.
it is compatible with 4GB M2
and 8GB when it comes out !!!!!
SONY the BEST
gsmarena doesn't have any views about this phone so i am giving mine.
because there is really no standard scale on which we could fairly rate every phone, i came up with a rating such that every phone stands an equivalent rating based on its price.
first, we must categorize this phone according to prices.
SE w610 falls under class C.
Features: 10/10. It has features that most A and B phones have, like 2 MP autofocusing camera (the quality is fair enough for a 2 megapixel camera), 512 MB card memory expandable to up to 4 GB, amazing sound quality (mega bass and equalizer options) complete with audio paraphernalia, connectivity includes bluetooth, WAP, ease of file transfer from pc to phone or vice versa although transfer rate takes a lot of time, say about 1 hour for a 500 MB file(when connected to computer via usb, there is actually no need to install the driver because its storage are recognized by the computer as drives like usb or hardrive). you could use any ringtones that you wish or install any games that you like. So features/price category is fairly high.
Design: 2/10. The design is so generic and simple. kind of like a "guy phone". What gave it a very low rating is that the keys are horribly, horribly small. Not only they are small, they are also hard. By prinicples of pressure, i.e, force/area, this phone exerts a tremendous pressure on your fingers that after using it for about a minute of non-stop texting, your fingers sore that they feel like they've been punctured and you may not be able to use the text messaging after a day because your fingers are still swelling. Of course, a phone is a phone no matter how amazing its features are and it must function as what a communication device should. Sony has overlooked this basic purpose of the phone and has made the phone's keys ridiculously small. this terroble design has drastically limited the usability of the phone as a communication device.
Performance/Usability: 4/10. Of course, no matter how attractive and wonderful the features are, we still want the phone's battery to last for a decent amount of time. This phone's battery is quite bad and consequently limits your usage, although I must say that the features are very user-friendly and the phone's response is lightning flash. Even if there are still a number of things that you would have wanted to do, you may be limited to a specific number of simple features because the sophisticated features of the phone consume so much power which the battery is unable to support. ultimately, it's just like you are using a cheaper phone for the very simple features. and worse, a cheaper phone still performs better because its power usage is optimized for the few applications unlike w610 that although you are only using the simple features, the screen and internal processes consume so much power leaving you with very very limited usability.
it's just like this, if you do not want to charge after 20 hours, you better not use the camera or the walkman player or the internet. so it's really just like you didn't have these features at all, which of course, is so frustrating. but being fair to the features, i could say that you got more than what you've bargained for and they are collectively way better than most in its price range and maybe even better to some phones above its bracket.
These are maybe the reasons why Sony Ericsson could not give Warranty to this phone, unlike w810, because they fear after about 3 months of usage, people will be tired of the poor performance of the battery and start demanding replacements.
By giving warranty to a product, Sony is necessarily confident that a particular product will perform satisfactorily in the warranty's lifetime or even more.
By not giving warranty to w610, Sony gives away of what it thinks about this phone. And because it will be a failure sometime in the future, giving this phone a warranty will incur losses to Sony for replacements or repair.
I really really like this phone because of its features. But there is nothing I could do since I've already bought it, and I still refuse to accept the fact that I made a mistake. And if you don't want to regret in the future, take it from me and do not buy this phone.
