bought this phone a few weeks ago. everything about this phone is so far so good to me except for a couple of things. first, the keys on the phone are fairly small and sometimes i'll need to press the key repetitively in order to key in what i want. second, because i'm using windows vista hence i'm not able to upload any songs into the walkman because SE doesn't have a version for vista users yet. and third would be the memory can only hold up to a 1gb M2. but besides these couple of minor problems the phone is overall very good. i have never used a SE phone before and this one is my first, i would rate the design 7, features 8, and performance 8.5

Does anyone know if we could use an mp3 file saved on the memory card as a ringtone? or do we have to move it to the phone's built-in memory first?

which phone is best result camera ? w810 or w610 ? pl tell me So i can buy a good phone...

Does anyone know if this W610i has a LOUDER speakerphone than the older W810i..??

W610i's screen hav less saturation than w810.

But in real life, w610i's screen ain't so bad at all.

Both w610i and w850i are great phones. Music playback capability for both the phones are same. I think these tips will help u to chose one.
the network-> which network u are using now? 3G or GSM? W850 is a 3G phone and w610i is quad band GSM phone

Capacity-> w850 comes with a 1 gb pro duo card and w610i comes with a 512 mb MS micro card (price of 1 gb pro duo card is almost same as price of a 512 mb MS Micro card)

Price -> w850i around 19K, w610 around 15k

camera -> w850 don't hav auto focus, but w610 does

If ur problem was just the music playback capabilities of the phones.. i think both hav same.

yes i agree that w610i ain't a gud upgrade from w810i.

But when w810i launched the price was around 21k and became the best mid range phone of the time. Now w610i comes to do the job what w810 did earlier but with a less price tag of 15k.

The price reduction justifies the 'BAD' changes that w610 has. But i think the +ves are much adorable that the '-ves.
A2DP, Walkman Player v2.0, More audio and video file type support, multitasking, and the lower price tag... it's a gud buy!!!

SE are so going downhill. What's this improving over the w810i?

Ok it's got a new UI (which doesn't really add anything new at all, mind album art). Worse camera, keys are a JOKE and TFD SCREEN?!

SE stop and think please

ps. I have a w810i and have used a w610i for about a week.

hi..am going for a walkman fone..but guys am confused b/w w850 and w610..i like the w850 as it looks really cool and i have read tat its sound quality is better than w610 but the prob is tat i dont like sliders much and the D-pad of w850 is not gr8..so ppl which one shud i go for..my major priority is music over other feautures ..pleeease reply....

Well ok mayb i noe less about sony ericsson phones but i do noe that symbian phones are compatible wif more applications/softwares as compared to other phones :) thks for the tip Dr.Sam.

u wrong dear ....i m pretty much sure dat we can instal JAR based softwares in it

so its not as advance as SYMBIAN based phones are, baa its atleat better than nothing

Pls Help..
I'm from Malaysia and currently i was a hotlink (Maxis) user.When i want to activate my GPRS through hotlink website, it seems like this phone model was not under their GPRS supported list..Can anyone explain how come like this?Is it this phone model still not yet supported by hotlink becoz this phone model still very new??or is my phone problem??
Any phone expert help me plz..thanks..=)

No u cant install applications on this phone, its not base on symbian or linux, its sony ericsson's own software, u cant install any applications

Help pls...

to unknown,,,you ask if this is good upgrade to w800 as when it first came out its was a marvel,,,,,i suppose all you are getting if you upgrade to w610i is its thinner and you get walkman 2.0 software which has album art,, hpm 70 headfones,, 512mb card,, and its seems really fast and is multitasking but cannot remember if my k750i did multitasking or not.i would say if your readt for a new fone then this would be the logical upgrade or k550i but if your fone ok then keep your money
