at least this has a flash which is probably what will make me go for this rather than the better looking W580i or W660 SE phones coming soon.

i think SE should not loose quality by following the "slim" thing.

- TFT is better than T

Sharper and colours are more real and accurate.
The W610I screen is TFD as described. They seem to have moved from TFT (Thin Film Transistor) to TFD (Thin Film Diode).
TFD is older technology that uses less power but is not as sharp nor can it display colours as well as TFT. TFD max's out at 4096 and uses emulation techniques to scale upto 256,000 colours.
The fact they are using TFD's in their new line up is off putting, even the w810i has a better screen!!
I'm either for a w850i or the w880i. Though the w850i seems to be winning.

Got mine yesterday...the white one...its very slim...I have been using Walkman phones for quite some time and ver 2 is better than ver 1....the phone is everything I wanted....the screen is very crisp and loudspeaker is easily heard on noisy street...the keys require to get used to...well this will be a good phone till my next one which is going to be the i-phone...too bad it comes in India in 2008.

Unfortunately there is no sleep mode clock again like w810. The interesting thing is that on SE official site there is a w610 phone software simulator and there is a sleep mode clock option, but in the manual from the same site there is no such a option. I asked SE in Greece 2 times about it and nobody knew ;-) Can you imagine what a support SE offers?
You can check about this peculiarity on the SE site. Interesting ;-)
I checked the phone and there were no sleep mode clock. If you need it just do not buy it.

To aj
There is no sleepmode ;-( so if you want to check for missed events or you want to just see what time it is, you need to press all the time either the walkman button or the volume button which I find it very annoying. If you need the sleepmode go for w880 or take nokia ;-)
