You're right. For me SE is realistic. If you want a phone then that's it! If you want a camera then buy a camera instead. From the technical point of view a phone-sized camera would only need 2Mp. How can they put a big sensor if the the size of a camera is small? 2mp is well enough to produce a good picture provided the sensor is big enough to capture a true 2mp picture size. I suggest we read about digital photography so we will know about the no. of pixels in relation to camera sensors. For me W660 is a good phoen based on its specifications.

What is wrong with a 2MP anyway? So many of you are complaining it's too low, it's too low.. But I get the feeling that it's because you just want the security in knowing you have the highest quality camera available. Some people - like myself - don't need a 3.2 MP camera or a 5MP camera.. 2 MP will do me just fine. I, like i'm guessing would be the majority of users, won't be printing out photos on big A3 sheets. 2MP is enough to fill the screen of a computer with great detail. As a matter of fact, I would not purchase a phone that had a 3 MP camera, simply because the camera would then jut out of the phone (see N93, K800i, etc). For those who DO want a 3 MP camera.. Go out and sacrifice the shape and size of your handset for such a feature. THAT is why this walkman handset is not a walkman 3MP camera. Because that would defeat the purpose of a walkman phone where shape, size, sound and cost are more important, with the younger generation who would buy these phones not all looking to pay the extra cost of an upgraded camera.

i like se but now all the new walkman phones are something that look like w810i. the only differnt walkman phones i see is w850i and w900i. if they switch the design around it might get higher ratings. and the camera~ i agree WHY 2MP!!! its always that and it doesnt even have autofocus now... the older walkman have autofocus... a little improvement is needed

i think SE was some how testing their customers and see what they need from SE it's a phase that SE going throw to gain the trust of consumers around the world i'm sure all SE fans will be greatly surrprized in the next few months there will be more smartphones more PDAs and ofcourse with good designs and less problems

Look Mr. AGC we r the market here, each opinion from us should be taking allot of interests from the SE , the company should not separate their strategy from the consumers taste !!!
I know there is a strategy in the market that SE working on it , but they should at least change the rotten style of there phones that they used to do since years ago ...
We r consumers, we can make company failed or success , there is many examples in the market from other brands like Nokia!!

hello, let me explain to you. the reason why walkmans have 2mp because its just walkmans.
its really built for music, not for camera.
if they put a 3mp on a walkman, who will buy a cybershot like k800i, or k810i? everybody will go for the walkman 3mp. so you see its business strategy, and to survive with your business you have to spread your assets in all of your products. if they make a walkman with 3mp, it will not produce them any better. yes its good for that phone because everybody will love it, but how about your other products?? nobody will buy a cybershot because there is already a walkman-cybershot...the business will go down.
thats why SE made a cybershot brand for camera lovers, and walkman brands for music lovers. and i agree with SE, no problem with me. you just have to think wisely for the customer and buisness, you just cant let your company go down just to please the customers. thats not the way to run a business, you have to think of both sides. you want a good camera? then buy a cybershot. you want a good music? then buy a walkman. just as simple as that.

I agree with you Mr. Borat...i also don't understand why is S.E. keep realising the same featured phone.And with 2MP!!??the cam is not as good as the W810i, this phone cam's pixel is 1600x1200pixel, slightly lesser than W810's 1632x1224pixel.And i'm still waiting for SE to come out with a 16M color display, y cant SE upgrade it?Do anybody have an excuse for that?

that's the reason why SE's market is growing rapidly and is the fastest growing mobile phone company in the recent years. they really has the strategy and i really admire SE and it's phones since T68i and i can't think of any reason to go to other brands unless SE has never been established.

the phone look very nice also with color but walkman phone should be have wifi also, moreover, the appearance for sony it look like the same, should be design it diferrent way of the appearance.

hello every body this is very good set in all aspects but i have an abjection about the camera why sony ericssion not giving 3.2 mega pixxal camera in its 'walkman' series. i think they are making us fool about to waste money on different version thats not fair w880 has been released but sitll the cam is 2.o mega pixxal i think you people will agree with me

some of you says other brands is better cos they have it all, camera w/ flash, 3G, edge, mp3 player like other brands do.. but the real fact is No.. nothing really compares to the sound quality of walkmans. and nothing really compares to camera quality of cybershots. thats is why other brands is putting it all together in one HP to stay w/ the competetion, but the fact, its camera quality will not beat a cybershot of SE, and their sound quality will not beat walkman phones.
thats the fact and if your not down with that! we got 2 words for you... SE!!!!!!!

what new ideas you want??? some kind of an alien look??? this is a phone, and i agree to a phone look design of SE, and not a damn gameboy looking phone, or camera wanna-be looking phone like other phone brands is doing.

I agree with you AGC.

What a like about SE is that, all their phones have almost the same design. It reminds me of cars. Take Mercedes Benz for example.

I also like the fact that SE produces affordabale phones that look expensive (it looks and feels better than in pictures).

The W660 have some downside but I bet many people would enjoy using it because SE always make reliable phones. The size of SE phones are also small.

Ok two comments which I hope you read because I have owned almost every SE phone you see here in GSM's pages.

1) If you continue to compare each of SE's phones to eachother, you are simply confirming your ignorance as a consumer. You think that SE's engineers' job is to just come up with the "best" design and the "best" features all the time? Do you know anything about market strategies? They could have EASILY put your precious autofocus and flash in this phone, upgraded the screen, and done numerous other things. Why don't they? THEY DON'T WANT TO!!! They are concerned with defining market niches with their phones. And furthermore, do any of you know how long it takes to get a phone from design to the consumer's hand? Maybe some of you do, and you're probably the ones that respect what SE has to offer. Those of you that just complain all the time, you will continue to be dissapointed your entire life because you know nothing of business, market strategy, and manufacturing. We live in a material world that takes ALOT of time to mold. So shut up and give any respect you have to SE and the other mobile manufacturers for doing what you can't, and then giving it to you.


2) Sorry to sound like an @$$hole, but it needs to be said. Now, after all that disagreeing with some of you, I have to agree with one thing that some others have said: The w900i is in fact the most amazing and comprehensive mobile SE has released to date. That's why it's price is still so high, and that's why most of you can still complain about SE's phones...because you've never had a w900. Get one and see for yourself. Otherwise, if you want new new new all the time, and are not concerned with build quality or software, get a Samsung! Hey even I think they look great and have a TON of really upscale features in very slim models. They just simply could never match the build quality of SE.
