this phone is really stupid as it is the same as w800 and it is even worse than k750i this phone colour is not impressive so i am sorry sony is losing its touch as i my self is a great fan of sony and i have a p910i hope they bring p990i earlier

the only dif btw w800 and w700 is that w700 has 256 mb card and no autofocus...

man,sony ericsson-- i start 2 hate u ! i bought my w800i last december for a huge sum of my pocket money...now in three months price slashed by 1/4th...i heard in no time they will stop producing both hot selling w800i and k750i...just give room for their w700i(stripped down version of w800i)and w810i (step up for w800i)..and for people who loved that black candy bar(k750i),they have w810i...i am bit disappointed with marketing strategy of SE...i curse u ,u will suffer...

no autofocus
bluetooth 2.0(a2dp)

music software upgrade
price

Take the best selling W800...
Now, change the colour... make it less shining...
Cut off the 512mb MS, make it smaller... 256mb will do...
Keep the desing, hardware and software...
W900 and K800 are still the leading models...
So, you make it cheaper, much cheaper...
You already had a reliable image..
Keep it, and have a brand new phone...
It'll sell like water in the desert...

It has now Li-Po battery (w800 was Li-Ion), 256 MB memory card, the color is different, and price will be lower.

this was a genious marketing move from SE.they thought of this before they released w800.i think they made the w800 orange on purpose so that now they can release w700 wich looks better and wil attract more buyers.i just bought the w800 and for an extra 100 dolars it is much superior to the w700 because of autofocus and 512mb card.

It is rather a strategy that SE kept the beautiful shape candy-bar phones with that similar joystick in the middle. It was a big hit when it first released.
But then they should consider how much more will this fashion going to be.. another 2 year? 4 year?
Their Camera wise is the best among all, but complaints to the phone like the phone will hang itself when operate the phone itself is common too. There is a need to actually change about it. And lastly, SE should inproves in its clamshell phones. It looks pretty a toy to me. And there isnt a sliding phone under SE right? And also why isnt SE joining the sliming competition with other companies?

to people like HP'sdownunder and etc.
this shape has been around for YEARS.. yes years!!!!
they keep this because it sells well and people new to SE can easily reconise the phone and use it. SE continue to bring out different designd/ different content mobile phones to help with other users to meet their needs.
but ALSO stick to the older shapes. because if it sells well, why stop?? i know i would keep going! because new/old customers can easily pick up this phone and use it and not be put off by thinking " ah.. sony ericsson make all them confusing phones!" they want to attract EVERYONE.. lol. meh. thats all.
