Take the best selling W800...
Now, change the colour... make it less shining...
Cut off the 512mb MS, make it smaller... 256mb will do...
Keep the desing, hardware and software...
W900 and K800 are still the leading models...
So, you make it cheaper, much cheaper...
You already had a reliable image..
Keep it, and have a brand new phone...
It'll sell like water in the desert...

It has now Li-Po battery (w800 was Li-Ion), 256 MB memory card, the color is different, and price will be lower.

this was a genious marketing move from SE.they thought of this before they released w800.i think they made the w800 orange on purpose so that now they can release w700 wich looks better and wil attract more buyers.i just bought the w800 and for an extra 100 dolars it is much superior to the w700 because of autofocus and 512mb card.

It is rather a strategy that SE kept the beautiful shape candy-bar phones with that similar joystick in the middle. It was a big hit when it first released.
But then they should consider how much more will this fashion going to be.. another 2 year? 4 year?
Their Camera wise is the best among all, but complaints to the phone like the phone will hang itself when operate the phone itself is common too. There is a need to actually change about it. And lastly, SE should inproves in its clamshell phones. It looks pretty a toy to me. And there isnt a sliding phone under SE right? And also why isnt SE joining the sliming competition with other companies?

this shape has been around for YEARS.. yes years!!!!
they keep this because it sells well and people new to SE can easily reconise the phone and use it. SE continue to bring out different designd/ different content mobile phones to help with other users to meet their needs.
but ALSO stick to the older shapes. because if it sells well, why stop?? i know i would keep going! because new/old customers can easily pick up this phone and use it and not be put off by thinking " ah.. sony ericsson make all them confusing phones!" they want to attract EVERYONE.. lol. meh. thats all.

Something wrong with SE's studios...have a look at these 3 phones:W800-K750 and now W700...they're the same phones but with different names...come on SE,do something different..!!

Smart move from SE! Really smart, they take a best seller and made a cheapper version, users with less money will be able to by a walkman phone too. Anyway, the only bad thing is the ugly design, SE designers didn't try at all to make a good looking phone, one of the best and one of the uglyest

Hey guys the only diffs between w800 and w700 are...
1. w800 ships with 512MB MS while w700 ships with only 256MB MS.
2. w800 has cam autofocus but w700 dosent.
point 2 has alot of effect on the price as autofocus is a very good and expensive when installed in phones.

And lets be honest, i think the w600 , w550 don't look good. And guys in life if something works, you stick with it. The design for the w800 is the best i've seen so why change it,
Look at the razr, That phone is about 50% of motorola's income, now if ur head of motorola are you really going to alter that design? NOpe
