I've been a w800i user for almost 4 years now and it never let me down! moneys worth! camera, walkman, excellent batttery even up to now. still one of the best unit released by sony ericsson together with its t610 and p1i.
My only problem right now is the casing. Almost 20% of it have faded away esp. those silvery portions like the cancel,back,okay button,joystick as well as the silvery circle holding the camera at the back, plus the battery cover got cracked already.
But even with those casing problems, i still cannot find a new phone to replace it! if only i could find an original casing replacement for it.
Darn, its hard to let go this kind of phone. I'm trying to look at naite, c701, or the t700 but still i'm having doubts especially that SE lately produces weak phones.
how i wish SE would go back to its glory days.. nevertheless i would will give the phone 10/10 rating even after 4 years of use.

2.modding(which requires knowledge and patience)
1.natural way:do manual eq setting n raise up all the bars until it cannot be raised nymore

hi guys,do you know how to make volume louder when play mp3 player in speaker? it s really low compare to other set..but radio sound is loud when in speaker..equaliser dun work to me its sound is a nightmare..

I myself have found variable bitrate is better in quality and saves atlest 200-300kb space per song than in constant bitrate.wat do ya think mates?

This phone is already cool.But u can make it much more cool if u hav knowledge about modding.For example:
I hav installed several patches.Description in a short-
a)i can change brightness between 10 to 100%
b)multicolor battery
c)dark red progressbar in walkman(default is light red)
d)blacklist(default is whitelist)
e)use of camera during java
f)changed sms n locked keypad icon
g)display light immediately turn off after keypad is locked
h)no startup or shutdown image.so phone boots ultrafast
i)faster rewind forward(1minit in 1sec)
j)light turns on by pressing camera key
k)profile list when pressing on-off button(nokia style)
l)no beep during recording
m)no security question(allow network connection;etc.)
n)rename file with extension

I put some songs in it but i cant hear them.But when i go to sounds you can see them but not hear them.

hey,i own dis n my dad owns a w810i.i found w810i is louder,has edge,dpad instd of prblmtc joystk,better n bigr dsplay.im a bit sad nw :-(

I have had this phone for 4 years now... dropped more than 20 times... I'm a very rough user but still this phone is tough... dropped from a moving car... fell in water... still no problems... bought in 2005... EXCELLENT PHONE.... only recently it is giving me problems... now I can't use it... need to flash the software... but I don't wan to... will keep it as it is forever... the ORIGINAL w800i... not the new cheap ones which cannot zoom in 2mp mode... sad SE doesn't make phones like this anymore...
