Does anyone know the best way on how to get the new firmware on to the phone? Could you please give the directions as well on how to do it..... Thank you very much for the help
David: go to the Sony Ericsson website. There you can see the step by step setting of your phone to access WAP, email and MMS. Settings are area dependent.
Does this have MP3 playback when the phone is switched off like the w800? It states 30 hours for the w800.
i don't any thong about this mobile but i want to know if the phone worth its price, i wark for tow monthe to get the money, so plz any body have an advice plz tel me
@Vince PD - MP3 Pro is not MP3 but a new format that they came up with to create smaler audio files. MP3 Pro files will play on a normal MP3 player but will not have the same quality they would if played on a player that supports MP3 Pro. MP3 Pro has fallen to the wayside because of formats such as OGG, AAC and WMA producing better results.
@Tangoman - There are three settings for handsfree. Normal answer, Any Key answer or AUtomatic answer.
@David - Yes you just need to put in the correct settings.
Hi again..another question...how can i go on internet w this phone?
again..i am in NY..using T-mobile.
this phone is excellent the memory on it is great, hasnt let me down at all, superb.
hi all...why does my w810 disconnect SO OFTEN? (when i walk to certain areas) i live in New York and using T-mobile...can anyone tell me what i can do before i bring it to a store? Thanks
Does anyone know if this phone has an auto-answer option? In other words, when listening to music on the headset, can you set the phone to answer itself without any user intervention? I use this option on my old Nokia when I'm riding my bike so I don't have to take my hands off the handlebar to answer a call.
Just a short note...I checked my software version in SETTINGS/GENERAL TAB/UPDATE SERVICE/SOFTWARE VERSION and it reads CXC1250316 R4CE012 000000. Don't know if it's a pre-production firmware. Also tried copying mp3 files in my card with just the USB cable, it's so damn easy...drag 'n' drop! One tip for all music enthusiasts...try squeezing your files from high bit rates to lower ones, using an MP3PRO convertor (I did mine from NORMAL 320kbps to MP3PRO 96kps) and I can squeeze hundreds of music files without any distortions. Still same quality as original and the transfering of these converted files takes only seconds!!! AWESOME! If anyone had his phone updated lately, especially thro' Sony's website, kindly let us know pls. Thanks once again...(whistling away...I Feel Good!) ;o)
The phone arrived yay! Yep, bought it from UK, me being from Malta. Had it for 3 days and didn't let go outta my hands :0) WOW! What a superb model! I was so worried about some complaints, but finally after I decided to get it, I am 100% happy with it! I agree with Abhi about the FM radio presets. It would be more easy to switch to stations thro' the headpiece switch. As for the light, surely everyone who bought this phone found out that in MENU/ORGANISER/LIGHT one finds 4 methods for lighting...On for 1 min., SOS, ON and OFF! The menu is easy, Walkman superb, camera great, sound is loud enough even if played outside (and I have set it to 5 out of 8 level). So far, having the pre-production software as others said, I have experienced no major problems yet! SE W810i really rocks! I have taken it with me on buses and I have turned ppl's heads coz of it :o). Well done SE! I am a proud owner of a W810i! Hoping to update the software to get the latest version, thro' site. To those ppl who are still thinking on buying such a phone...u thought a hundreds times...now it's time to GO and GET IT! Keep posting valuable comments, thanks.
I wish it was possible to change FM radio preset stations using the switch on the headset which is normally used for answering calls. Cuurently, you need to use the keypad to change stations which is cumbersome especially if the phone is in your pocket. Does anyone have a solution for this?
The card u got from ebay is probably a fake one cos I know the fake ones drain the battery very quickly compared to the original. If you are not convinced compare it with the original sandisk card that came with your phone.
sorry meant to say in previous post, i was going to choose between this and the nokia n91 but went and had a look and my god how big and cheap looking is the n91. I've waited for months to see it and was immediately dissapointed sure great features great sound quality but it's bloody huge, cheap and tacky looking, symbian o/s, it has the smallest keypad in the universe and most important of all it's way overpriced.
Stick to sony ericsson people.
got my w810i a couple of days ago and got myself a 2gb card from ebay for £32 yes £32 arrived two days after payment, first class service.
my only concern so far is the battery life seems to go down pretty quickly in comparison to my w800, but i'll see what it's like after a few charges. Apart from that i'm pretty pleased just going to get it de branded and i'll be happy.
coooooooooooooooooooooolest i have ever used ints model..
gr8 quality compare to any other brands especially ..nokia
